im just about to upgrade from my sgs2 i9100 to a telus note lte .. (the seller keeps calling it a note lte,, not just a note..)
just a stupid question but is there any difference between the telus, rogers, bell, at&t versions of the note???
i have been looking but i have not found any real answer if there is a difference in the hardware that will affect flashing various roms and rooting..
from what i have read the hardware is the same for all models (right?)
and i can use modems from tmobile...??????
thanks for any help
From what I know, the hardware is the same. The reason he calls it the "note lte" is because of the international version which has completely different hardware.
You should be able to use T-Mobile modems just fine. You could have him give you a screen shot of the "about phone" page in settings to verify its an i717x.

hello,
i was surfing the web, and found out that there could be a SGH-T999 coming out on tmobile network,
i was wondering if anyone have an idea what this phone could be.
i've heard that it was blaze 4g, but then it turned out that blaze 4g had SGH-T769 model number? (or is it exibit II)?
i'm very confused.
is this the exibit, blaze 4g, or phone that we don't know yet?
anyone?

The "SGH-T" designation is always for t-mobile phones, the Blaze is T769. I just saw on a youtube video of a hands on on the GS3, showing a device it's connected to called SGH-T999, I'm thinking it's the gs3 for t-mobile, but that's purely speculation on my part, but it would make sense since the gs2 is T-989. The T-879 is the Note. Check out the video, it's at 5:53...

Previously you may have been right
Now, however, the T999 is also released by Mobilicity, Wind, and Videotron (In US and Canada). I have also heard of a T999V overseas. These carriers all work on the same frequency so it stands to reason its the same base model of phone, usually with letters after to signify specific hardware changes per carrier spec (like front facing camera, NFC chips, that sort of thing)
Overall it looks like all of north america are getting very similar phones, i would hope only the modems would have to be changed between them so we can still all use the same roms (for continental north america)
I just dont know which one. Its for my girl. These will be tmobile phones in this decision which will be on simple mobile.
Right now i have the lg g2x which is unlocked/rooted/running hellfire 2.2 Rom GB 2.3.3 and i love it, battery life sucks though.
What do you guys think about htc 1s vs galaxy s2? Or should we get galaxy s3?

Since you're asking for a comparison to the HTC One S, seems you're asking about phones for T-mobile USA?
This particular model of Galaxy S2 is not the model for T-mobile USA, and will only get Edge mobile data speeds on that network.
I'm guessing you want to know about the SGH-T989 .

As I said, the T-mobile USA Galaxy S2 is a different model. I linked the forum for that model above.
See wikipedia.
The i9100 (which this is the forum for: look at the top of the page) doesn't have the required antenna hardware to receive 1700 mhz UTMS, which is a required band for AWS. (the other frequency bring 2100mhz) T-mobile USA uses AWS for high speed mobile data.
So, the i9100 will only get Edge on T-mobile USA's network.
But if you don't believe me, just type "i9100 t-mobile edge" into google.

Ok i get what you are saying now. You scared me for a second there. I thought you meant "this model" as in the one i was referring to. Ok well while we are on the subject, isnt there something that can be done to the phones to switch the antennas like installing a new radio or something, or is it an actual physical piece of hardware that runs off different mhz to get 2g/3g/or 4g?

It's hardware. There is nothing you or anyone can do to the i9100 to get high speed on the T-mobile USA network with that phone.
If you want a Galaxy S2 model that gets high speed on T-mobile USA's network, you want the SGH-T989. I linked the forum for it above.
And back to your original question......
Get one S
Or S3..
do make sure one S is the Qualcomm S4 not the S3 with 1.7 GHz model.
HTC making one S with older processor after S4 shortage.
Alright, I've been reading like mad here. I'm getting basically two sets of stories to the same question.
Q: Is there ANY hardware difference in the US/CAN models?
I'm aware of the INT Version, and the KOR version. But, for CAN/US despite different modem software. I assume the hardware is in fact identical? I know for example that my t-999v has the same FCC number as the us TMO version. If this is in fact the case then any s3 should work on any US or Canadian Carrier with some sort of modem hack?
I'd love to get your takes on this guys. Thanks again.
Canadian version is same as ATT version. Sprint and other CDMA carriers have different radios.
As stated above; I'm getting the Rogers HTC One, but I'm not sure which forum I should be following.
With my SGSIII it was simple, Rogers was listed with the AT&T version, and the international version is quite different from the North American, but the One doesn't really seem different between the regions. My biggest concern is the ROMs, want to make sure I'm getting the right ROM for my device.
Thanks
T-Mobile, ATT, Rogers and all GSM carriers are the same as the international version. You can follow either thread you want
Only difference is radio bands

This is driving me crazy. I have spent the last 3 days trying to figure out which model to get. I want the best speed available. I assume that is LTE 4G. There are too many models available. It is too confusing for me and calling T mobile is useless since none of their employees seem to know what is going on and so far 4 different employees have told me different things.
I am buying an UNLOCKED Samsung Galaxy S3. I want the freedom to be able to use any carrier I want when I want. I am in the US. Apparently not all the models of the Galaxy S3 have 4G LTE capabilities. Which model has it please tell me. I just want to buy a phone. I never knew it would be this difficult.
GT i9305 SGH T999 i535. i747. i9300.
If I use Tmobile I want the LTE 4 G. the fastest internet possible.
I am buying the phone on EBAY listed as UNLOCKED
please help me
Questions go in the q&a forum, ask an admin to move your post.
Suggest you buy a phone that will work best in your country, the i9300 and i9305 won't due to region lock on newer firmware.
