Long story short... leaving my family's unlimited everything plan (my bro just got married, fiancee getting moved into the plan, thus, kicking me out of Sprint...Stupid max of 5 lines). I am OK with this, since I need my Evo3D has got a busted screen - so I get a new phone, and I love Tmobiles 4G speeds in MN. So, I am jumping on my GF's family plan.
Long story longer... I had the Epic 4G, and told myself I would never buy a Samsung product again (long update times, awful battery, etc) But, after looking at ICS upgrade time frames for the SG2 and the Amaze 4G (same ICS dates as E3D), I think I may be leading to the SG2 based completely based off of that. SG2 is supposed to be Q1, but my guess is Junish.
Anybody played with both and have solid opinions on these two devices?
I am going to miss the unlimited everything from Sprint. But, I really never utilized it to the full potential anyway.
Thoughts?
HTC all the way for me. I wont touch another samsung product. Im very happy with my amaze. Do not regret it at all.

My gf has the galaxy s 4g (I know its not the s2...) But it tends to freeze a lot and not deliver messages etc. I haven't had many problems with the amaze and I got it recently (Sunday) and I'm loving this device. Very smooth to hold, very responsive and its a great phone. I'd go with the amaze all the way

It's a matter of preference so I'll just sum it up for you, short and sweet,
Samsung Galaxy S2
- bigger screen
- flashing ROMs is easier
- Touchwiz is lighter than Sense
- Thinner and lighter than the Amaze (noticeable difference)
- Super AMOLED screen will result in more vibrant colours and blacker blacks
- Known to have common screen defects
- Able to use Samsung Galaxy S2 SkyRocket ROMs
HTC Amaze 4G
- Better build quality
- S-On, bootloaders can still be unlocked
- Notification LED
- SLCD screen with higher resolution
- Capacitive backlight bleeds onto the screen
- Better camera
- Sense UI is more eye-candy but takes up more resources
I'm pretty sure both are getting an official ICS release, but that being said, Xboarder is developing an AOSP ICS for both of these phones.

Thanks for your help on this one.
I thought both devices had the same CPU, but I may be wrong here.
Very true on the S-ON.. I am coming from an EVO3D.. and the Hboot 1.5 has been a bit of a sore subject. I guess I will have to play with them and make a game time decision.
Sucks I dont have any spare tmobile phones laying around so I could just wait for the One S... and there is no way I could live with a flip phone for 2-4 months. Oh well, F me right?
If you don't want screen bleeding issue, washed out picture while taking it with flash in night, having wifi with a foil mod, and a camera that you need to put a black electrical tape, plus blue strips of line if your in a direct sun light then go with the GALAXY.. plus S-Off is still haven't achived yet..
If you don't want a plastiky feeling that it might easily broke and gps locking on minimal satelite a bad camera compare to AMAZE then go with the AMaZE
the amaze is built with confidence and durability while samsung just think ''uhh ok lets put our big screen in our recycled plastic casing.." the amaze has a plus and negative side so is the galaxy.. the galaxy has a lot'of development and mods while amaze has at less development so it is up to you to decide and pick what suit you most...

i don't have half the problems you're referring too... lol, only the capacitive button "screen bleed" (which has multiple software fixes now), and the back cover squeaks...
the reason why i chose the amaze over the galaxy is cuz, like most people, i hated samsung's ridiculously huge screen with low resolution that they decided to combine for the galaxy...
and i would gladly make that choice again if i had to, however in hindsight, i would say go for the htc sensation, similar phone with tons more development, which the amaze is lacking...

haha i forgot about the squeaking back since I'm on Kraken case by trident.. yes i know there are fix for that but for me i still go with htc,, i have line up htc from mytouch 3g to nexus one, to hd2(which has a lot of mods, development and customization) and so on..
If you asked me, I would go with the Amaze 4G.
I just switched to TMobile when I get my IRS loot. I was on Sprint at first, and the phone I sold before going to TMobile was the Epic Touch (GS2 on Sprint).
A couple things to note is that the Sprint version of the GS2 has a Exynos CPU. The TMobile version is Snap Dragon "I think". The Sprint version was very snappy and no lag at all through out the whole phone. Mine was with root and custom rom though. The Samsung UI is plain compared to Sense UI that you find on HTC phones such as Evo / MyTouch ect....
Even though the screen has better color it also has a downgrade in the resolution department compared to the Amaze \ Evo 3D. Not to mention the camera is better on the Amaze also. When I say better I mean NIGHT / DAY better. The GS2 has a beautiful camera in the quality apartment but the Amaze is like times 2 of the GS2 camera.
I sold my Sprint GS2 and picked up an Amaze off Craigslist and using the prepaid 49.99 plan.
Long story short...... Both phones are good and both have a resale value of at least $350+ I would go with Amaze 4G
@The O.P......
Look,
WHY bother with either since the HTC X is coming out?
Furthermore, IF you really don't need a smartphone,
Why not wait until Google's design (3 virtual buttons instead of 3-4 physical buttons) shows up on HTC's phones probably later this year?
I made the mistake and bought the Amaze 4g only to find out this crap about Google and it's "virtual button" phone...soon to take over the market in another phase.
My 2 cents,
stefnuts
IMO if you have to chose between them, i think the amaze is a bit better, i love my amaze, had a i9000m which i loved aswell. dont bother with one x, its garbage Tegra 3 blows! go with one s which has a s4 chip (rapes tegra3 in performance.)

Big shock! The tegra 2 in my galaxy tab 10.1 sucks pretty badly.
buy a cheap phone on CList and wait for the new phones to come out.
Rumored to get the One X, we are getting the Blaze. Hopefully the Lumia 900 variant as well
I tried a Galaxy S2, and liked many things about it, but finally went with an Amaze. The Samsung has several points in its favor. It has a larger AMOLED screen (no backlight/button bleed at all) and the battery life is nothing short of amazing (for an Android). I can't comment on the camera because that's not something I'm particularly interested in, even though it's one of the Amaze's main selling points.
What sorely disappointed me about about the Galaxy was how dreadful the audio output was through the headphone jack. I listen/watch to a lot of music and music videos and audio quality is high up my list of priorities for a cell phone. With default settings the Amaze sounds great, and is even more impressive with SRS turned on. The qHD display also is very sharp, though the contrast seems too high (darks are too dark and brights are too bright.)
Disappointments with the Amaze so far have been the capacitive button bleed (easily fixable), the amount of bloatware and the truly alarming way video playback chews up the battery. I'm loathe to root it just yet, as I'm not fond of nuking my warranty, but I may have to if I keep getting annoyed by Slacker and other junk running in the background.
I hated my G1
Liked my G2 a lot
LOVE MY Amaze 4G. I just cant put it down.
Have seen GS2 in peoples hands, although the colors are superb, the low resolution bugs me, its not as clear as the Amaze. Also Samsung has customized the hell out of the OS to a point that as an Android user since 2008 I couldnt do simple tasks like putting a shortcut to a webpage on the screen and opening the app drawer.
Don't really have any of the problems that most people seem to have with the Amaze (no squeaks, WiFi works great). My only current beef with the Amaze is that we don't currently have S-OFF, which is keeping a lot of developers from making roms for this phone. I buy Android phones because I like rooting and trying out new roms...I'm getting bored with this phone already.

They are both about the same. Both brands are of great quality. I actually prefer Samsung over HTC because I think, that HTC hardware(CPU, GPU) is not as good as it should be.
vote for S3, smartest, fastest, friendly
Well I think I will go with Samsung Galaxy S3
SGS3 Hardware is superior to the Tegra 3 inside the One X but the One X "feels" better imo, just should try both of em.

Also remember that the HTC One X isn't exactly the same as the HTC Evo 4G LTE... The Evo 4G LTE is even more similar to the Galaxy S3... But this decision is my current dilemma too. Sounds like both can have great radios for clear reception and there are also a few defective ones out there. The radio is one of my personal concerns because Samsung has had some issues with them in the past but from what I'm hearing they're improved the radio a lot on the S3. Let us know what you decide!

HTC One X
Offering you lightning-fast web browsing, remarkable picture quality and seamless gaming visuals due to the powerful quad-core processor. You’ll love the minimalist design and the camera that captures every moment (even in low light) with crisp, vivid, beautiful photos. It also lets you take a photo while shooting HD video.
Samsung Galaxy S3
Gorgeous 4.8″ Super AMOLED touchscreen, new voice features, faster processor, good call battery life, Android 4.0 ICS, new camera tricks and nifty new software.
Although heavier than the Samsung Galaxy S II due to a clear 306PPI 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, it’s still thin and looks better than an iPhone 4S retina screen. The S Voice wake-up feature is secure and most voice functions work very well.
For me,I like S3 more.

You can't get Sense on GS3, and usually can't get Touchwiz on anything but GS3.
The One X is the phone that may not tick all the spec boxes, but there is a certain quality to it that the GS3 lacks. The GS3 does everything, but at the end of the day, it isn't as exciting as an HTC phone might be.
Both are about the same when they are perfect units, but the GS3 may have some things that you must need. If you need removable battery or microSD, then Samsung has already won the battle.

hi, I'm looking to upgrade my photon to HTC EVO 4G LTE
does anyone here own both of the phone ?
and can you give me some inputs ?
what I'm really want to know is :
-voice quality / earpiece sound quality (the photon is the very good if its not the best ear piece on a phone that i have ever owned before)
-battery life ( i use seidio extended battery on my photon, so i want o know what to expect from the non removable battery of HTC)
-radio reception strenght ? (again the Photon is one of the best in this department as well)
i want to upgrade because :
-im tired of waiting for the ICS on the photon
-and though the seideio battery is awesome , but the bulk is quite noticeable
-and the photon screen is terrible IMHO (can't hurt to change to 720p 4.7" screen NON PENTILE)
actually i also considered the Samsung galaxy SIII but i've never been a fan of samsung, and to me their build quality is not so good, and the material used is feel kind of cheap
and also i hate the touch wizzz i've always been a fan of SENSE but because the EVO 3D have bad radio reception, then i bought the Photon, which is an awesome phone.
anyway , can please somebody gimme some inputs ?
thank you so much.
I currently have the Photon, Evo 4G LTE and a Galaxy S3.
The Evo LTE is an elegant phone, but it's honestly not a lot better than the Photon in terms of functionality and speed.
When swapping between the phones I am reminded of how fast the Photon is, and it just fits in the hand. The two more recent phones are bulky and more difficult to operate with one hand.
My particular Evo has a bad antenna (just shipped it off to HTC for repair), so it kept dropping calls. But voice/call/radio quality on the Evo is really nice otherwise. In fact voice quality is the best I have ever used I think. And the screen is great! And the Evo's camera is super. Battery life is also very good!
On the downside the Evo feels fragile to me, unlike the Photon. Photon feels sturdy, and rubberized so it doesn't slip out of the hand very easily. Evo is slippery. Add a case and it's even bigger...
For the record, although the Evo and GS3 use the same chip, the GS3 is much faster all around. Lots of things, like voice to text, are faster on the Photon. ICS slowed that functionality down for some reason. The Photon translates sentences MUCH faster.
In all, ICS does not add a lot of meaningful advantages, and it slows some things down (like speech to text.) I would give the Evo a shot if I were you - just don't expect a HUGELY better experience and you should like it just fine. And I would not ditch your Photon just yet.
hmmm
thanks , you seems like the perfect person for me to ask
because you own all 3 of them
anyway about the phone call quality, the evo is better than the photon ?
and how about radio signal reception strength ?
if you have to choose between the SGS3 vs EVO LTE which one will you choose ?
actually i do really like the photon
the only thing is that i love SENSE so much that using any android without it seems like a little weird for me.
thats why I'm leaning towards the EVO LTE rather than the SGS3 because of the SENSE
but i wont buy the EVO LTE if the performance is not that great
the only thing that i like about the newer devices is their screen,
i love the Photon
its like the perfect phone.
it can work globally.
and have very good call sound quality.
and also the speakerphone is one of the best i heard from a phone before.
but the Screen quality is very bad IMHO and also the camera is bad.
and lastly it doesnt have SENSE
please tell me more about your opinions once again
so sorry for my questions and also pardon me of my bad english.
thank you so much.
i have the Evo lte and my girlfriend has the Photon. performance wise, the Evo is definitely faster but not by alot. the photon is a great phone, imo. the biggest difference in the two is the screen and camera. so much better on the Evo it's not even funny. with all this being said, i don't think i would upgrade from the photon to the new evo, too close in performance. if i were you i would just wait till ICS drops for the photon or wait till something substantially better comes out.
I used to have the Photon. Like others have stated, the performance between the two isn't much different. The camera and the display are better on the Evo LTE. It has been stated on other threads that the receiption on the Evo LTE isn't that good, but I haven't had any issues with it personally. I also am getting better battery life on my Evo LTE than I got on my Photon.
My Evo LTE was a little glitchy for the first 2-3 weeks that I got it, but it ahs seemed to simmer down since then. It has been pretty smooth for the last month.
One nice feature that my Evo LTE does that my Photon didn't, is that I can use data while on a call. It came in handy the other day when I was on a call and was trying to locate a store with Google Maps. I do not recall being able to do this with my Photon.
Do I think it was worth switching over to the Evo LTE? Yes, for me it was worth it because I gained a better battery (not too much, but anything is nice), simultanious voice and data, a better camera and display, and the option of receiving LTE (once it is fully rolled out).
Yes that's the thing..it isn't always about just speed..shoot my 3d was fast..and u can't get much faster than instant...to me when I see or hold my 3d or a photon I can just tell they are not in the same league as the newer devices..the screen on the LTE is the best screen on a mobile device period..imo of course..and the camera is terrific..and the nice build and scratch resistant screen is nice..I have not used a screen protector and I don't have one scratch..not even one of those little ones..its held up nice..I swear I'm like a broken record but if the multi tasking is fixed (and I know it can be..my girls intercept does) this is the perfect phone for me..but that one issue is a big one ..
Had the Photon til a new job required a new cell. The EVOs camera and screen are between superior and far superior to the Photon.
The Photon as a telephone, with which to make calls, is far superior to the EVO.
Everything else is personal preference. If you're in a non LTE market (heck I'm in a so-called live LTE market in Atlanta and I NEVER HAVE IT) I wouldn't bother with this phone.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
I still have the photon. I still love the phone and I have no plans to get ride of it. Since I travel to México and it works great over there.
Performance wise you won't see a significant difference, the screen and camera are way better on the evo, though some times it feels slower than the photon but it is due to sense. I would love CM on this phone.
It is worth the switch but if you think you are going to see a day and night difference.. You are not going to see that.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I will add that the GS3 with a case on it ( so it feels better) is a seriously good phone. The screen is great, calls are clear, the camera is excellent. Even without the case it feels better than previous Samsungs. And it's definitely faster than the Evo, and good multitasking to boot. I have been using the GS3 for the past few days while waiting for Evo repair, and I don't really see any down sides.
Food for thought.
Sadly the multitasking really is abysmal...but people act like the screen and camera aren't 2 of the most important parts of a smartphone..and the EVO is fast ..sense may make it seem a little slower but its not..I've turned off transition animations and to me it makes my phone feel faster ..I've heard the photon has great radios so I don't think any phone has come along to take that crown from the photon..
You might want to wait for the new Motorola Photon LTE which will be out August 19th on Sprint:

The EVO 4G LTE is amazing. Buy it. People are really overstating its issues i think. They are few and far between. Amazing call quality, amazing camera, best screen in existence (way better than GS3), it has Sense which you like, the kickstand is freaking awesome, and it feels awesome in your hands. The development is outstanding so far if you're into that, so jump on board team HTC.

i dont want the photon LTE cause it have qwerty physical keyboard and its screen size is the same as my old photon.
now its getting more confusing
i dont need LTE cause i live in overseas wheres there will be no LTE till at least 2016 or so
my only thinking is that the EVO LTE have "Sense" where no matter what mod or theme i install in the photon will never replicate the UI friendlyness of Sense
but if the phone is not that much better than the photon, then i cant justified the upgrade.
sigh...
if only there's a perfect phone out there hahahahahha.
about S3 vs EVO LTE
from the review i read, it seems that the S3 win in every other area except for the Sense vs touchwiz.
so im getting more and more confuse right now.
what i really want is a phone that have :
-Htc one X's design (i really like the international version, especially in white)
-Samsung galaxy S3's hardware ( the 2GB Ram)
-Motorola Photon's radio , call and speaker phone quality (one of the best out there)
-Motorola Droid Razr maxx's battery life
and prefferably global capable too.
i know this is wishfull thinking.
or maybe is should wait for the new iphone 5 instead ?

Hahahaha, yeah, the iPhone 5 will not satisfy any of your above wants. That's funny. You want a small, dated screen with a boring, dated UI that "just works" but can't really do much of anything? Go for it.
Anyway, assuming you were joking, I don't see how the S3 wins on every front. Really the S3 only wins in RAM, which currently is a useless feature anyway. EVO has nicer camera and software for it, better build, has a kickstand, and what you want for software: Sense. It also has a nicer screen that doesn't look like an episode of Spongebob Squarepants.

Im going to have to disagree on the extra ram being useless, I owed a Evo for over 2 months before selling it and getting a S3 and without a doubt the extra ram makes a great differences with a resource hungry UI like sense and touch wiz. Case and point, the multitasking, the loading it does when you hit the home button and occasional slow down switching from app to app. A lot of you users will be in denial that you actually have a problem but trust me I noticed it. One just has to look at your available ram when using your phone and see how low of ram it actually gets when using your phone. While on the GS3 you constantly have over 1gb remaining.

I see all the comparisons of the Droid DNA to various other phones...some newer, some older. I am an Android Junkie, and have had 5 phones in the last year. I hope people find my opinions helpful. I have no allegiance to any phone manufacturer. I've owned almost all of them. My $.02
I have owned the OG droid, HTC Droid Inc, HTC ThunderBolt, Moto Droid X2, HTC Rezound, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, (2x)Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC Droid DNA(current Phone).
I will only be talking about current and last gen phones.
I see alot of people coming from the thunderbolt to the DNA. Makes sense since the TBolt came out roughly two years ago, hence the two year upgrade eligibility. The Samsung GS3 (US Snapdragon S4 Dual core model) is in my opinion set a clear revolutionary bar in phone technology. It was beautiful, had phenomenal battery life and performance was head and shoulders above the rest at launch time and is even trades transistors with some just released quad core competition. The Rezound was an absolute abysmal phone. Lets be honest it was a last gen phone (snapdragon S3) that had pathetic battery life, way too much bloat, and a version of sense that felt like a ton of bricks on top of the OS. And lets not forget the Rezound could double as a pocket warmer as well. The only saving grace of the rezound was its beautiful SLCD-2 screen. Colors were rich and accurate. The Galaxy Nexus was an absolute pleasure to own from day one. I hadn't experienced any radio problems that were talked about on the forums. The phone was snappy bright beautiful and felt way faster than the Rezound even though on paper the Rezound was faster (S3 @ 1.5GHZ with powerVR vs TI-Omap @1.2). Battery life was an improvement especially with the LTE radio on. I would still be using my Nexus if it weren't for the S3 buzz. Just hadda have one when the hype bug got to me. Having built in LTE on the SOC was a plus as well. The DroidX2 was a red headed stepchild of a phone. Dual core yes...performance of one...NO. Battery life was a positive...thats about it. My tBolt overclocked to 1.92Ghz felt way snappier. My current Droid DNA is a sight to see. When I heard rumors of a Snapdragon S4 quad core with 2 gigs of ram in a 5" screen that had 1080P resolution... I had to have one. Battery life is definitely on par with the GS3. The screen... ohhhh the screen....I cannot put enough emphasis on how easy on the eyes it is. Colors are accurate, saturation is neutral, and sharpness is mind blowing. (Retina what?) It is svelte and the materials used are very pleasing and confidence inspiring to touch.
The Galaxy S3 is a super phone and with AOSP JB Roms is phenomenally fast. The DNA is Super Fast and either phone is a great addition/replacement to any last gen phone. Thanks to all Developers that sacrifice time, money and family time to make these devices more enjoyable to us all. Happy Holidays everyone!!!

Battery life was a positive...thats about it. when I first got the DNA in the mail and I pulled it out, I was just like no way, this thing is going back, I'm coming from 4' HTC INC4g, and it just felt huge! I considered going to exchange it for the SG3, but within 20 mins I fell in love with the DNA. I could on for and on about how great this phone is.
I do wish it was like 4.7' instead of the 5', but beggars can't be choosers lol, and if a smaller phone comes out that I like, I will prob sell this one and buy it
personally, coming from an s3, although bigger, i'm used to the size. yeah it was huge at first, but now it's normal lol

It's not that different from the SGS3 and One X; the difference is in the height. Now the N2, that's a difference.
That's a huge wall of text

I also came from the S3 and must say that I actually prefer the size of the DNA over the S3 as far as holding it in the hand goes. The S3 is wider and not as comfortable in the hand as the DNA imo. Both are great phones, but if I had to do it all over again, I would still sell the S3 for the DNA.

LOL... I was thinking the same thing.. I got a good hearty chuckle out of your post!
It seems like there are is a good amount of people that have had the S3 and now have the DNA. I have a question that I could not find answered anywhere: Does the DNA have better reception than the S3? I am in a fringe area that every phone I had before the S3 got good enough reception. The S3 did not. Didn't ring half the time and had to go outside to talk. I got a replacement from verizon and it was WORSE. So now that I closed my car door on my S3 I have to get a new phone. The battery life concerns me a little but if I could make calls in my office it would more than make up for it.
Thanks - Keith
Yes. The DNA has amazing reception.
Samsung us notorious for bad radios.

Well that pretty much sealed the deal.
Thanks man!

10x's better IMHO... The S3 was the worst.. I couldn't make calls in my new home much less back in my home town... I couldn't even get calls or sms back home... the DNA held a steady single bar which allowed me to even hold the phone to my ear when with most phones it would drop the call... Signal is king on DNA.. Battery is OK... I could easily get through an entire day with moderate usage.. about 10hr with heavy usage.. Still good enough..
Absolutely, I've owned a Vibrant and a Gnex. HTC radios are terrific.
Never owned a GS3 though I've owned several other Samsung devices that all had pretty poor reception. Htc is second only to Motorola in terms of reception.

Verizon actually sent me a DNA as an alternate replacement specifically because of the poor radios in the s3. Couldn't be happier.

I had the S3 before I traded it in for the DNA and yes, the DNA does seem to hold on to calls better than the S3. I also seem to get better LTE speedtests on the DNA as well, but that's all timing/location/bandwidth available for the most part.
I thought about returning my dna for an s3. But hearing about all the radio/gps issues turned me off. Plus I cant stand SAMOLED

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as the S3 and DNA both have the Qualcom Snapdragon S4 SOC (I know the DNA is the s4 pro quad, the s3 is only dual core), wouldn't their radios be the same? Unlike the Galaxy Nexus which has the horrible radios (non qualcom) with many problems...
I would have to agree, my DNA consistently gets better reception than my S3 did. The signal level on my S3 would fluctuate all over the place (according to the bars), the DNA is just solid.

Processor does not equal radios. Reception is largely software dependent from what I gather, hence the maker differences.

I understand that... I was under the impression though that the few processors that are SOC also include radios. At least, the qualcom processors are bundled with qualcom radios. That was the big complaint of the Galaxy Nexus with it's TI processor in the US; crap radios bundled, , not qualcom. ...I may be way completely wrong here... Thanks for your reply.
Well I got the DNA. Haven't played with it too much yet but can make calls from where I couldn't with my S3. Pretty happy about that!

Thanks man! I am sure I will like it but it is going to take some getting used to! Definitely different than the S3.

Same processors do not equal same radio

Reception is improved from my S3 amazingly.
At my house (Middle of nowhere) I got weak 3g, and usually barely got a cell signal. With my DNA, I get good 3g, and sometimes even good 4g, and cell signal is pretty good (about halfway, in terms of bars)
Add in the much better processor, battery life, screen, feel, quality, everything else and you have a winner
I had both a S3 and a DNA.... I kept the DNA b/c I want a phone w/ better specs, but I do feel touchwizz is more polished than sense. I hate the fact that sense doesnt give you battery %.... I honestly think unless your a tech geek the S3 is more consumer friendly. Thats why people buy Apple because its easy. Touchwizz is packed with features and easy... sense 4 is not polished.. I dont care about pretty widgets... I care about day to day performance. I dont even know how to set alarms w/o downloading a program on Sense...
Reception on the DNA seems better for calls, but my LTE speeds were slightly better by 2,000kps on the S3.
The DNA will be a top dog until the S4 comes out later this year.... its a never ending battle to keep up with their ****... Also the DNA is supposed to be one upped by the M7 later this year. I hate how HTC releases so many damn devices, why don't they just spend their time like Samsung & Apple and make one super device and price it at $1,000... instead of one X, one X+, DNA...
