Screen Timeout During Call - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Galaxy Note with ICS 4.04. When I make a call using speaker mode with the phone away from my ear, the screen dims after 12 seconds and the screen turns off after 31 seconds. This happens regardless of the following conditions:
-Screen Timeout set at 1 minute or 5 minutes
-Proximity sensor turned on or off
-Power saving turned on or off
-Screen Protector installed or removed with clean screen
The only exception to the above is that with the proximity sensor turned on, if I wave my hand over the proximity sensor, the screen will turn on and the 12 second (dim) and 30 second (screen off) cycle is repeated. If the proximity sensor is turned off, the only way that I can turn the screen back on is to push the power button.
Is this normal behavior during a call? I would like the screen to stay on during a call (full or dimmed), without the necessity of waving my hand over the proximity sensor.

[Q] preventing screen turning off during phone call using CM10

I'm running the stable version of CM10.1.3 on the xt910. Yes, I have a screen protector and the proximity sensor works. The phone is set to "sleep" after about 1min and I enabled "end call" by pressing the power button.
Other threads don't really address the question in relation to Cyanogenmod.
Is there a way to prevent the the screen from "sleeping" and locking me out during a phone call? The proximity sensor works very well before the phone "sleeps". In other words, prior to locking me out the screen dims and lights when the sensor is covered or not. Once the phone sleeps, the only way to end the call and access the phone is to press the power button.
I couldn't find any settings within CM that allowed me to change this feature.
Thanks

This is normal. There's an option to disable this. I don't remember where, but exists. I think it's in the motion part.

Galaxy S6 Edge Lock Screen Shut Off When Locked

So all I can find online deals with the normal lock screen timeout. However I'm concerned with when the phone is already locked and you hit either the power button or home button to light up the phone and see notifications. When I do this, the screen does not shut back off, it stays lit up at the lock screen. I found out that is does lock when the normal screen timeout (set in settings) goes off. I would like to have my screen timeout at 5 minutes but I don't want my normal lock screen to light up for a notification and stay on for 5 minutes. On other phones it wasn't connected like this and turned off after 10 seconds or so. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Proximity Sensor Re-calibration

How can I recalibrate my phone's proximity sensor?? When I'm holding the phone near my ear the screen turns off but when I remove it the screen doesnt turns on, had to press the power button to turn on the screen

Black screen on hang up on calls

Verizon S21 Ultra
Been having this problem since I got the phone. Did a hard reset, no help.
WIFI calling disabled. Press Side Key to end calls is disabled.
Under Motions and Gestures: Lift to Wake, Keep screen on while viewing: enabled. Screen timeout 1 minute. Accidental touch protection enabled. Touch sensitivity disabled
So I will be on a call and after a few minutes I pull the phone away from my ear to hang up. But the screen is black.
I have to hit the side button to get the screen to reappear.
Please help!
Anyone have thoughts here?
