I purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G from Bell yesterday. As well, yesterday I bricked it. I blame myself for not reading enough on the device. I assumed the wifi root process was the same.
Today I got it replaced. I noticed that the model number for the Bell version of the Tab 10.1 is GT-P7500M.
Can anyone confirm which method I should use to root this device? And hopefully get CWM working as well.
I have searched the forum, and google to find an answer specific for Bell, but with no success.
Thanks

Bassboy_pete. I just got a Bell 4G GT 10.1 also. Did you ever figure out how to root the GT-P7500M?
Could you let me know i've been looking everywhere for this info and all google brings up are your posts.
i have the same model. rooted. Bell is no different.
Google [root galaxy 10.1] and you should find how. Very easy.
I've followed read this entire thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089 and read the 30+ pages somewhere in there someone who had a rogers 4G model said the 3G method worked. I also read somewhere else on XDA that a guy with the Bell GT-P7500M tried the 4G method and made the device a paper weight. I also really want to backup this device before a mess with anything but as far as all my research i am doing CWR is the way to back it up.
yours or anyone help is appreciated. Not looking for a handout on what to do step by step just a push in the right direction. I won this device and want to keep using it but some things piss me off about the Bell version (really must GPS Nav have to stay on the device) also can't just return it to bell if i brick it since i won it and don't have a reciept.
UPDATE, Just did the CWM Recovery. Worked great. Just finished a backup. I'll try the 3G root as mentioned in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312538 then i'll update again.
Not bad for my first Droid Device just got it 3 days ago.
UPDATE: Used the 3G method for GTP97500M (Bell Mobility) works great.
also plunged in thinking I had read enough and not fully understanding all the variants, so ended up following some of the root instructions posted on xda which did not work.
Solution was this thread for Team Overcome
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275751
which has a stock restore, the correct odin and bootloader files and then both the Overcome Rom and a CWM zip.
All installed nicely, system rooted and custom rom installed.
I am on Rogers with the Tab 10.1 and my Galaxy S is on Bell.
I then flashed the OC kernel from doridbasement which also works fine -- just catch which version you are on
anyways, early days but these did work, others did not for me
Hi all, I wanted to root my Samsung galaxy s2 (locked to the Vodafone Network Australia) and due to my crap searching skills could not find a sticky which showed a detailed step by step process.
I have absolutely no clue on how to start (although I have done similar "roots' to my Nokia N73 and Iphone 2) I would like to the old firmware available encase something goes wrong but don't know all those DKU thing and which one will work for my phone.
If someone could help me out or link me to a way of rooting and finding all the required information for my phone it would be fantastic.

1 yes you can
2 so many do a search
3 no you cant update your phone if it is rooted
3.1 but you can update it by unrooting it temporarily using an app superuser
4 1 rooting will void your warranty
2 do it as clear as per the instructions for rooting else you will soft brick your phone you can unbrick that but take precautions
that's all take a risk friend
After a lot of consideration, I finally decided to buy Galaxy Mega 6.3 (I9200).
This is my very first android phone.
I'm interested to install viper4android on my phone, but It required root access.
I read a lot of tutorial about how to root I9200. Since this is my first experience with android, I had a hard time to understand how to root a device.
Finally I got a glimpse of how to do it (still haven't root my device yet).
Since root mean 'kiss goodbye to my warranty', I'm thinking of how to restore it.
Then I discover that you can unroot your phone.
But the question is how?
I'm searching many website and tutorial, but none that give step by step of how to root my I9200.
I only find that to unroot your device you need to flash stock rom. Like I said, this is my first time, so I don't have any clue how to that.
Could anybody give me a link about step by step how to root/unroot my I9200?
Thanks before...
I've been looking for ways to root my galaxy mega but mostly I'm coming across how to root the 19200 (19205) models. Mine is the sph-l600... Can someone point me in the direction of the info I need?
Thanks in advance.

The easiest method I have found was using the Kingoapp....Kingoapp.com
It was very fast and easy since there is no bootloader mode for the galaxy....took all of 5 min to do so.
If you have any other questions let me know.
What I've read is that I'd have to revert my phone to MK1, root it, then upgrade back to whatever it is now... I've also read somewhere some people have had issues using their WiFi or LTE. I just can't afford to screw up my phone and or brick it. You've used kingo on the sph-l600 model with no problems?
