I'm looking for an Android app that will stream live video from the phone's camera to the PC thru 3G network.
IP Camera app works only thru local network. JUSTIN Android app hasn't been updated in years and doesn't seem to be recordable.
I would like to make this work so I won't ever have to worry about running out of microSD memory or losing recorded video data in case phone is lost.
And again, yes it must live stream not just record, stop, and upload in chucks.

But that uses USB Cable, and is laggy. Sorry nothing really available at the moment.

hey i have a query
I have a router soley for media streaming as such i have to assign static ips to every pc in the house connected to it
so far i have a ps3 4 laptops and 2 pc connected via wifi and i have one pc by ethernet. not including the server
the server isnt a specially made server its a dell precision 650 with 7 hdds in it and ive basically shared the root of the drives so the pc can share
is there a way to stream to my x10i?
i know theres an option for static ips so thats not an issue but bassically what i want is to be able to browse the pcs sharted drives from with in the phone and perhaps watch a movie ortv show like this
Set up a net server or ftp, probably better on ftp. Then when you've done that on the host and, if it is 192.168.1.101 then go to "ftp://192.168.1.101" then you'll get access to the root of each drive if it's set up right.
That's what I do

well i found an app called estrongs file explorer that lets me view stuff on my all im wanting now is the option to view avi files through it
Same here.
I have a MS MediaCenter running at home.
It also have an build in MediaServer. Im able to watch Movies or listen to Music with other streaming clients........
So finaly i want to stream the movies on my X10. But it looks like that there is no app for this. Dunno which one is able to get streams from a MediaServer.
Wasnt it DLNA which was improved / implented with the 2.1 Update?
Great shame that there is no way. Isnt it Arcos who already build an Android Media Player?
So if anyone knows a solution pls post it! Im realy waiting for it.

I've already asked the same question, maybe for christmas?
So now we got the update but still no way to stream videos?
Realy cant understand why.........
I've got ORB installed on my home computer and the ORB Live app on my handset. So far I'm able to use my handset to connect to my home PC, view the contents, and stream audio. The problem is that I cannot stream video whatsoever. When trying to stream videos, live tv, or my webcam the handset sits there connecting, but nothing ever streams. Eventually I'll usually get the "failed to stream" message on my handset.
Anyone else using ORB? I'm wondering if I'm suffering from a bandwidth issue, or if my carrier, Mobilicity, is blocking something on their end.
Which browser are you using, stock android or third party from the market?

Stock browser, but the client on the handset is an app called OrbLive.
Screw ORB, go with Plex. It works flawless but it lacks the the ability to stream live tv at the moment

I've been using orb for years on my mobile devices. The ports can not be blocked, not sure which ones orb uses but make sure your router has permissions for the right ones. I did buy the orb app for android and it works good too.
The port blocking may be at your home end or it may be your provider. If it's your provider, check for alternate apn's that may have more access.

I used to use orb, haven't for a while but when I did I just logged in through Skyfire. Not as convenient as an app I suppose but I just saved as a favorite. Never had any issues using it that way

Tried Skyfire, didn't work for me. Android mode just constantly kicks me back to login page, can't access anything. Desktop and default mode puts me in a login loop between http and https and eventually throws an error. Tried Androrb too, no good, nothing streams at all.
Got no port blocking going on at all over here atm, just a direct line from the PC to the intarweb, with nothing but windows firewall in between.
Downloading Plex at the moment, will give it a try, but streaming from my tv tuner would be really nice. I'll take what I can get though I guess. I'll let ya know how plex works out for me.
Well, got plex and my handset refuses to connect to the plex media server. *sigh*

yeah, setting up orb was a pain, kind of hit or miss, to get video to work, but once it does work, its pretty good
check the badly organized orb website and their just as badly put together forum
there are some pointers there that, like me, just might get you to get it working
to be honest, it seemed like i did everything i could, it wasnt working, i uninstalled/reinstalled everything, and then it was working
weird stuff
I have been using ORB for a long time (from Windows Mobile) and it's a very easy way to have access to music, photos, tv, videos and documents... The problem is that the OrbLive app does not work with 2.3 and no update has been made to the app...
I've been at this for a while and have yet to find a valid solution. I know now that DLNA might as well not exist and I've been using a subsonic server with the subsonic app on the market to stream movies and such from my PC to my phone. This works great except it can only be done at my home (not at all over the mobile network). My question is are any of you streaming from PC to phone, then to TV via HDMI? Or streaming at all to phone over mobile network? If so please post what you are using because this feature is basically why I got the phone. In a side note I'm not an amateur with android phones and I have gingerblur running. I figure this question is a longshot and I expect only something like a Cyanogen mod or a future update of gingerblur will make this all possible. Any input is much appreciated.
Hello. Just bought my third HTC phone and I am very happy with it. The 1080P video sounds especially appealing. I saw there was an HDMI adapter which I mentioned to the sales guy and he said that his girlfriend had one(of the phones) and their TV (which has wifi) automatically picked it up. If I am going to take good HD videos it would be great to send them over wifi to my PS3 (preferably) or my computer with a media server on it to watch them easily. I have heard of an app called awesome drop but everything I have seen is getting media ONTO the phone, not off. I know I could just USB to my computer (and maybe even ps3?) but since it can be on my wifi network it would seem there was some way to easily just push the video wirelessly to watch. I know this isn't specific to the Amaze so if you think I will get better answers I can move to a more general Android area. Thanks always XDA.
Also in the same vein is there some app to just directly move any files freely between the phone and my computer (and maybe even ps3?) over wifi? TY

I use iMediaShare Premium to stream videos stored on my device to my XBox 360. I can also stream Youtube and several other services as well. All connect via wifi.
There's a program called PS3 Media Server that is awesome. I haven't yet tried streaming amaze videos, but I will tonight. THis app is very light weight and streams really well. I have yet to have any problems, but I've only streamed some relatively low bandwidth 4:3 video over wireless.
I stream video to my Xbox 360 using an app called Twonky, It's in the Android Market, nice and easy. Let me know if it works for you.

Hi Everyone,
I am googling for some time now but can not find easy solution to my problem.
I got some videos on my S3 (it is mainly about the ones (for the future) freshly recorded.
I would love to be able to stream them to my Windows 8 PC (Windows Media Player preferably) in order to show them to bigger public.
Example:
My Son was skiing first time today. I took some clips. later on at home every one wanted to see them. I had my Asus TF810c with 11" screen with me so it was obvious that it will be more comfortable for all to watch on bigger screen.
Both devices were on the same WiFi network (created by mobile router), I was trying to "play" with WiFi direct - nothing worked
Is there an easy way to do it?

Not an option.
On a slow broadband (in my case in weekend house we got 0,5 mbps gsm one) it would take ages to upload and ages to download.
I wanted to use local WiFI to do it.
Now I suppose the issue was with limited abilities of mobile router we were using. Just got home and on my landline broadband and stand alone router it worked like charm. S3 is visible as media server and in built in player there is option (once media are shared) to "scan for nearby devices" and pc is visible (in WMP is running). So playback can be started both from S3 (if WMP has "Allow for remote control" option on) and from WMP it self as S3 is visible as network library.
So again - it must be WiFi router fault I could not do it before.
SORTED! Close please!

You need to have options for Streamig Media enabled in your Windows Media Player. I think they are not on by default.
Once that is done, you should be able to see PC on your Android device as a device you can share your media to.
I no longer have S3 (to annoying device for me) as I got myself Lumia 920, so I can not provide you with mode retaild info.
But on Lumia it works in a very similar way.
Hi the easiest way I'd suggest is to use Airdroid.....its a simple app which lets you see everything on your phone through a web browser....provided you are connected via the same wifi network...
check this out

hope this helped
worked
