It's cool that basically every mod for the Arc works on the Ray too.
I wonder why the Ray still hasn't gotten real support while the Arc has all sorts of cool stuff for it. They are basically the same phone, the only difference I can think of is the front camera in the Ray and automatic led flash on the Arc (and of course the Arc is bigger but the screen resolution is the same).

Roms surely won't work, but modifications to the interface and things that don't use system features will probably work, as proven by this thread.

Did you try everything?
Because eg the boot animations, they even have to be adapted from the Arc to work on the Ray and you are linking Samsung ones..

You linked the files in the wrong order, but I flashed the overscroll apk first. Now I can no longer boot to MIUI... It stays at the FreeXperia screen. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks.

No sorry all worked for me may have to flash rom over the top you won't lose anything

The order is wrong though. In the first post you have
"flash [miuisettings.apk link] first
install [overscroll.zip link=] after"
So I think you probably have it backwards. Also, after I flashed overclock.zip, flashed miui1230.zip, and installed the miuisettings.apk, that miuisettings app doesn't work.

It does because i did it,
Flash the overscroll zip first
install miui settings normally, like any other apk, you will find a app on your desktop called miui control

hi.
i have the stock rom compilation: GINGERBREAD.UMKP3 and i want the crt effect.
i also tried to change the build.prop .....but don't works
i hope someone can help me
if someone already made modified framework to enable crt for ur rom, u can just download it and flash via cwm. else u need to modify framewok manually yourself. look for the tutorial in theme and app subforum.

This is not my work (basically just ported from 2.3.3 ROM to 2.3.4 ROM) and unfortunately no ICS CRT anim unless somebody who have the source code can create one for us on ICS.

Well, it's an .so file, not a framework one mate. same problem with Rotation Effect that only resides on ICS but not in GB caused by native nature of the effect (C++ based). So yeah can only look at the original source code, not just a disassembled like smali code

Nope. The case is different. With Samsung, it was turned off. With Sony, it was replaced in the native file. So no use.

I searched Mods or treaks that activate CRT animation on Stock ICS.
but I have not found anything to achieve it, so I do the work myself.
I did animate a bit the Screen when it is turned Off !!!
but I have not managed to achieve the white flash when the screen is animated.
I think it's a bug in the library libsurfaceflinger.so since I added this strings that calls the native animation in this library
these are some the strings I added :
invoke-direct {p0, p1}, Lcom/android/server/PowerManagerService;->nativeStartSurfaceFlingerAnimation(I)V
nativeStartSurfaceFlingerAnimation
as seen in the green, this string invokes the native animation (CRT ANIMATION) in the library libsurfaceflinger.so
in Android GB to activate the animacion CRT, only suffices replace this SO and ready
but ICS is replaced and damaged or generates starter bootloop.
so I add the file services.jar. decompiling classes.dex file and adding the PowerManagerService.samali the Strings
comparing services.jar files of the Xperia Tipo, with files from services.jar of xperia mini pro SK17
since the Xperia Tipo has this animation in STOCK ICS
I'm trying to get the white flash with another different method that only with animation SurfaceFlinger

Hi all ! After my topic for know how to get swipe lockscreen before PIN, I have found the solution (thx ozz_y) and I want share this with you, in just one ZIP !
This ZIP deodex your rom and change the android.policy.jar to make Swipe screen before the PIN. You don't lose your DATA ! ^^
I am not responsable for any brick or other problems that occur after the flash the zip ! But I tested it personally and it works very well !
PS : sorry for my english, I'm French and I'm on school !
Requierements :
-STOCK Firmware 12.0.A.2.254
-Root - Do not have ? Look this topic.
-CWM - Do not have ? Look this topic.

Thank you, tested here on my Xperia SP C5303 and it worked perfectly. I wonder if it is possible to visualize information such as the number of incoming messages and missed calls on the screen Swipe before by the PIN, because here in my nothing appears here on my own, just on the top screen.

The stock JB lockscreen of Sony have not noctifications unfortunately... And I don't have founded mod who add notifications of this lockscreen.
In stock ICS lockscreen, we have notifications, it is why I don't understand Sony for this decision...
BUT ! If you found a mod who active/add notifications on JB Sony Lockscreen, share me plz ! :fingers-crossed:

You ask me a lot, it is possible but would require hugely work. My zip flash with stock apk's, and it deodex your ROM, I do not know if your ROM is deodexed so you should inform me about it. But he change apk's of your rom by stock apk's
For lockscreen ICS, I don't know if the lockscreen is compatible with JB. But normally you can change many times the lockscreen apk, android.policy.jar will ensure that the swipe lockscreen either before lockscreen pin.
But if you want, I can try to make a ZIP compatible with rom deodexed, but this ZIP will can flash only the android.policy.jar. But it is dangerous, because others ROM can be have changed android.policy.jar for make it compatible with this rom. It is for that it is difficult to make it. And I'm really not very good in development. :silly:

As I already said, eXistenZ has modified apk's, and my zip will replace the apk's on you eXistenZ by those who are in my zip (the apk's of stock).
I do not know whether the android.policy.jar of eXistenZ is modified from the stock rom. I advise you to do a total backup and try to flash my zip, but if there is bootloop your phone, backup it and tell me if it did not work. :fingers-crossed:

Can you try to flash this ZIP special for eXistenZ Ultra 1.1.5 I have created and reply if have worked ?
This ZIP patch just your android.policy.jar, but I don't have tested it, make a backup before flash it !

I have tested it today, using 1.1.5 of eXistenZ rom for Xperia SP, and it works fine. Will test more and post here if I encounter any bugs or any problems.

I've seen bugs on Camera widget at locks screen, music works fine.
When changing from Back to Front camera and pressing the more options, it triggers the PIN/Pattern unlock screen, it looks weird at start up too.
Either way it's good to go.
