I recently flashed 2.9.28 miui to my evo3d, after a while goo manager prompted me to update to 2.9.29. I did that and everything is running fine however goo manager is prompting me to update to 2.9.29 again. Is this normal, or is there another update i need to do?
Try clearing the data and cache of the goo manager app. Go into settings/applications/goo manager and you'll find it. Clear the notification. Then open goo manager again.
I did that now it says no updates for your rom were found, so i'm as up-to-date as possible for miui?
You should be. If you want to, verify in your settings/about phone that your number matches the one that you were updating to.

I just downloaded the latest cm7 nightly and I am trying to install the latest gapps as well and it appears that it installs successfully (meaning I don't get any errors) but when the phone boots back up I don't have any google apps installed. ie, no market, maps, etc...
Anyone else having this issue?
My apologies guys. I went back into ROM Manager and selected the option to install cwm and selected VibrantMTD and then selected cwm v3.x and reinstalled gapps and it works likes a champ now...
I don't know what happened, but I can't download anything from google play. When I click install on any app, it just get stuck at "Downloading...." and it never downloads the app.
running CM9, and just updated to latest 20120429 release and its still not working. I already tried wipe date/factory reset.

i had this problem with my first android phone
the solution was to re-run the phone setup (like you get when you turn on the phone for the first time), maybe the touchpad has something similar?
Have you tried deleting the app data (Settings => Apps => Google Play => clear settings), and then re-flashing the GApps package ?

Tried all of that, still not working.
Another thing, I could never get CWM to install, always had to flash through novacom command.
One fix on a phone was to open a terminal app and type the following:
Su <enter>
Killall drmserver <enter>
Don't type the enters just hit enter let us know if it works

Hi
First of all did you reflasg your GAPPS also after flashing with latest build of CM9? If no then you need to flash latest GAPPS from this site.
goo-inside.me/gapps
Also after that varify that you system date and time are correct in your settings. This could be another reason that google play doesnot load at all.
Hope this helps.
I abandoned Android for a while and used WebOS on my Touchpad. But today I decided to reinstall Android again with the latest CM9 nightly. I'm still getting the same problem. Here are the things I already tried:
- Installed latest CM9 nightly, CWM, and the latest gapps from goo-inside.me/gapps, this time I actually got CWM to work.
- Wiped data/cache, ran the google setup again.
Google Play still won't install anything, it just hangs on "Downloading". I can install apps manually by downloading the APK files from the browser. What else can I try to fix this?
Maybe you can try to wipe out all the data

may be you can wipe out all the data , and try again to install gaaps, i do it twice, everytime i wipe all the data, i have to reinstall all my apps, so you can just go into the advance option of the start menu
I had the downloading from marketplace error before when I used titanium backup to uninstall/freeze things i thought phone didn't need, some of them it needed, but if you did clean install/reset and still doesn't work, i doubt it is this
I'm on JB 4.2.1 and installed Goo Manager. I had select/look for the latest Gapps and it came up with "gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip" which it downloaded and installed through TWRP. On reboot it does the normal Android update but when the desktop appears two errors show up, one shows "picasso has stopped working" and some "google process" has issues. I reboot/power down, etc. and goes through the same process ending up with the same errors again. The installed app list does show a "picasso" app. I did a backup first and restored with no "picasso" app now.
A search finds this page: http://www.teamandroid.com/gapps/ which shows that it selected the wrong Gapps package, it should have selected "gapps-jb-20121130-signed.zip". What's funny is that if you have Goo Manager list all the Gapps, there is one right below the JB's with a filename with "picasso" replacing "jb".
Hi .. I recently upgraded my phone xperia mini pro SK17i 's software from GB to ICS 4.0.4 and rooted my phone.
After rooting i installed Titanium backup and remove a few what i thought were unnecessary apps from my phone .
I think i also deleted the google.download.manager.apk i'm not sure but i cannot see this service in my "ALL APPS" (APP Manager) Its not at the bottom or disabled its just not there.
Since then i keep getting gapps stopped working and Google play stopped working .
i have tried
1. Rebooting (multiple times)
2. Clearing cache/clearing data for Play
3. un-installing /Re Install play
4. Download goomanager and downloading latest gapps packed and flashed the zip
5. Delete gmail account and restart and add account again.
Also i don't think there is prob in Google sync...
and checked out all the sites and forums for solution ... i still haven't gotten any solution to this.
i saw in a few places about QtADB and new ROM..but i have abs no clue about what it is or how to go about it
I jst want the Google download manager back and Google Play to work...
I have downloaded a new download manager for now. But was wondering if i can get back Google download manager without have to to do a factory reset.
First: You can ask these questions (for more response) in your phone section which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2054
Second: Wipe /system and flash ROM and GAPPS reboot phone and set it up then reboot again.. Should work now.
Hi,
I recently bought a le max 2 from GB with Gapps and multi-language and everything was working perfectly, but i wanted to update the phone, so i decided to install the stock chinese rom (eui 5.9.021s) through the stock recovery. Now, when I try to open the PlayStore it always stops and closes. Furthermore almost all my Gapps (YouTube, gmail, play games, play music...) seems to be installed (when I go to the options they result as installed) but I can't see them anywhere. I have already tried to uninstall and re-install it, but I have this problem as well.
Can someone help me please?
That is the problem of the Le Max 2. You have to go to app management, uninstall all the problematic apps manually and then reinstall them again.
Thanks for your answer!
Your method works for most of gapps (for example if I uninstall gmail and then install it again its icon will appear) but it's not the same for PlayStore... I tried to uninstall and re-install it but it doesn't work(there's its icon but i can't open it). I thought it could be a problem of Google play services but i can't even uninstall it.
Another strange thing I noticed is that when I click on the PlayStore it immediately pops up a message that says that PlayStore stopped working but it keps running in the background and it closes just when I Press a button ("ok" or "cancel") of the message that doesn't allow me to use it.
Have you got any advice for me about this issue?
I recommend to install via custom recovery, eg. TRWP.
Download your gapps package here:
http://opengapps.org
After than, flash it via custom recovery.
100% working method!

That's the problem of the phone, it wouldn't let some apps, particularly the system apps, to be uninstalled completely. When you try to reinstall the apps on top of the existing one, problem arises. Now, I am unable to get the IR Remote Control working again. If your phone is completely stock ROM and has not yet been rooted, back up all your apps and data, do a factory reset and reinstall them. If it still doesn't work, you might have to reinstall the apps via TWRP as rqzor99 suggested.
Thank you amowagou and razor 99 for the help you are giving me.
My phone has never been rooted and i have not installed any custom recovery (what's more this was the First time I tried to flash a ROM .
Probably if i do a factory reset, Google play services and the PlayStore will be deleted from my phone because the stock chinese ROM doesn't include them and then I could make completely new installation of them as amowagou said. Probably I'll try this solution because it allows me to have them without having to modify my phone.
As well I also apreciated the advice of razor.
(Obviously if someone else has other advises for me they are welcome!
I'll let you know if following amowagou's advice the problem will be solved
If you have stock ROM (your Chinese ROM) without Chinese market, called Lestore - there isnt another option, you have to flash gapps via custom recovery. Be careful with choosing package - arm or arm64 - TWRP tells you if you have wrong one and it will dont let you install it, no worries.
If you have Lestore in your stock ROM, just find gapps and install it.
Thats it
