Yes, I have tried that. When I use the CMD and type this "fastboot oem get_identifier_token" I get this message <waiting for device>. I did turn on USB debugging and installed the driver on my computer.

May be a driver problem. Uninstall your current ones and install Universal Naked Driver. Look around xda/Google for it.

How do you have s-off with hboot 1.01? Please tell us how you did it cause as far as I know s-off with hboot 1.01 is impossible.
P.s. I don't think you can get a device token on hboot 1.01 anyway cause I tried that before going to hboot 1.02.

That file must be copy to the root of SDCard, don't inside any folder, and it's name must be LEGEIMG.zip
If it's not work, I think you should flash the RUU 3.xx first (don't need following the instruction in htcdev) then unlock bootloader with LEGEIMG.zip

the same to me 2 months ago, and i don't know why how it was

You can not use any rom, it will mess up the radio and lock the phone to its original provider.

ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU) is Official Rom (Stock Rom), so you can flash the RUU normally.

First, download this: http://www.mediafire.com/?6m8ezcbwa9t1g45 (Official Rom was release by HTC, and it was created for all HTC Legend that your phone is one of them) then following my instruction below.
UNLOCK BOOTLOADER
1. Install HTC Sync version 2.0
2. Connect your phone to computer via USB in "Charge only" mode and turn on "USB Debugging" in Setting>Application>Development. Let your computer install all driver.
3. Right-click "My computer", select "Manage", select "Device manager", explore "Android USB Device". Make sure your driver is "My HTC", if not, you must update driver. You can browse the update in "C:\Program Files\HTC\HTC Driver"
4. Turn off your phone, wake it up in HBoot (Volume - and Power)
5. Your driver is change now (in fact, it's the second driver in hboot mode), update it to "My HTC" via "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" option.
6. Run the RUU (Run as Administrator with Vista or 7) on your computer, follow the instruction and wait until it finish.
7. Turn on your phone and make the Start Setup
8. Connect you phone to your computer via USB in "Disk Driver" mode and turn on "USB Debugging"
9. Copy the "LEGEIGM.zip" to the root of SDCard (Do not copy to any folder) (Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?yuz8tmtrsctw2ky)
10. Turn off your phone, wake it up in HBoot
11. Your phone found an update, just select yes
12. Reboot in HBoot, all done! Your phone is unlocked and Hboot is 1.02
ROOT YOUR PHONE
13. Turn on your phone, connect it to your computer via USB in "Charge only" mode and turn on "USB Debugging"
14. Run HTC Super Tool on your computer (Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?xxeh1d1k2bpg7xh)
15. Type 1 or 2, Enter to prep
16. Type 3, Enter to root
17. Reboot your phone, now, you'll see an icon with name "Super User" in programs list, your phone is rooted.
Now you can flash other rom (if you want, or keep this rom with all functions settled), install Clock Work Recovery, run any apps that need Super User permission (like Link2SD,...)

Quicker way to open a CMD to ADB is go to your platform tools folder and hold shift down right click on it.. Say open CMD .. Your set..
Another way ...
Turn debug on ^^)
1. ADB reboot bootloader
2. Fastboot boot recovery.img for Hboot 1.5 users
3. Wipe like normal.
4. Go back to Hboot. Select fastboot
5. Now type in ^ Fastboot oem lock^
6. Now run that 2.17 RUU. DO NOT TAKE USB CORD OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS WILL BRICK
7. Your set
If you wanna unroot again pretty simple..
Just redo that unlock code part your set.
Anyways if anyone needs help PM me or the OP.. I have done this 100 times or more lol well it feels like it..
yes, i'm a n00b
Just a silly question, the unroot/relock option... that should work for all EVO3D models?
Looking to return to stock (but with another RUU of course), can I follow these steps? (I'm HTCDEV unlocked)

Can't Root or Install Openrecovery in HBOOT 2.09

Okay, so I got hboot 2.09 unlocked. I then proceeded to follow QBKing77 instructions for rooting and installing openrecovery. I downloaded the root files from the link he provides. Worked for me. and I'm hboot 2.09 also. I don't have windows xp but when I open the sdk directory. hold shift and right click I get a prompt saying "open command window here" I then issue the fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.3.3.0-jewel.img command. it flashes just fine. I think you're missing a step or two.
Please take a look at my thread on rooting/superuser/TWRP installs. It's a pretty good guide. I tried to take the mystery out of this process.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038123
I am having issues rooting via qbking77's method on Youtube.
I'm stuck at the 5:42 mark where I need to mount USB storage via Teamwin / TWRP recovery.
The 'Mount Cache/Mount SD Card/Mount Internal' aren't' checked on my phone and I can't check them manually. When I click on 'Mount USB Storage'. My computer pops up a message telling me that 'You need to format the disk drive in F:before you can use it. I'm not sure what to do next.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
Thanks this forum helped me find my problem while following qbking77 video on how to root. I realized after quite a few tries that the twrp img file had changed a bit since the video was posted. When bigdaddy619 check for file I found file to be openrecovery to have some different numbers.
Also the actual root file towards the end of the video name/version had changed also. Little details make a big difference.
Im having an issue trying to install openrecovery as well. Ive followed all of qbking77's instructions in the videos. Im running HBOOT 2.09 which is already unlocked. I have SDK tools and everything as well. When i get to the step to install openrecovery, I go to the folder containing the file and shift+right click and open a cmd window. This is what I get:
C:\Users\Jeremy\Desktop\Root_HTC_EVO_LTE>fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-tw
rp-2.5.5.0-jewel.img
< waiting for device >
sending 'recovery' (8196 KB)...
And thats it. It locks up and doesn't go any further. I've tried several times and retraced my steps through the whole install procedure with the same result. Can you fellas help me out?

Try uninstalling everything HTC from your PC
reboot PC and device
re-install drivers including HTC Sync(you can delete it afterwards and the drivers will remain)
plug in your device via usb cable it should install the drivers again also boot into the bootloader drivers should install again
You should be good to go now

Which ruu did you try?

Usb-otg is not available so there is no option of adding a Rom to storage that I am aware of, an ruu or nandroid would be your only options. Did yo make a backup beforehand?

Locking the bootloader is done through adb, not with files
Follow the directions you followed to unlock the bootloader, but type 'fastboot oem lock'into the command prompt

Can i Have some steps please? I am such a ****ing idiot cant belive i wasted 3-4 hours now fixing one stupid mistake ive made...
Damn that sucks. Good luck getting that fixed. Once you get it fixed (hopefully) I would be more careful with hacking your smartphone. I plan on keeping my device stock for a long time. Don't want to worry about messing something up.

You can open the command prompt from within the folder you unzipped when performing the unlock by pressing shift and right clicking
Power off your phone. Power your phone on by holding power and volume down.
Highlight 'Fastboot' the volume buttons then press power to "select".
Plug your phone into your PC and open a Command Prompt. (windows XP - Click Start > Run > type CMD in box then press OK; Windows 7 - Click Start > type CMD in search box then press Enter) Change directory to your folder where we put fastboot files by typing cd c:\fastboot for example.*
*Alternatively, you can just hold down shift and right click in the folder and select "open command window here".
Type this into your command prompt window: fastboot oem lock
at least that's how I think it works
good luck!
modified the directions pulled from here but changed to lock

OH **** I RELOCKED IT AWW **** YEAH TY now whats the next step finally some progress after 4 HOURS + AHAHHAHA
So I relocked my phone and I've tried to extract the ruus but i think i might have did it wrong.. did it to two different ruus and it failed.
I have not tried these ruu's but they are pretty simple. Extract and run ...disable antivirus if you have one.
What error does it give?

Only when i re unlock boot loader if its relocked it doesnt work

[Q] Got an Evo 3D from a friend, no idea what he did to it, can't revert to stock.

So I bought an Evo 3D from a friend, he said he played with it quite a bit. Wifi (says error) and cell data is not working, haven't tried Bluetooth. Phone is supposedly from Rogers, so I'm trying to reflash the stock ICS rom that was linked from this site.
First off, the recovery wasn't doing anything, so I flashed cwm-4.0.1.4-shooteru. Now I've got a recovery at least.
Phone refuses to flash either
RUU_SHOOTER_U_ICS_35_S_Rogers_WWE_3.28.631.1_Radio_11.77.3504.00U_11.25.3504.06_M_release_262715_signed (obtained from the repository)
also tried to run the .exe version. The flash through CWM says Image Verification Failed or (bad), depends if I get it to actually check the signature. I have redownloaded and tried again with no success.
Hell, even the OTA update doesn't work, says the phone has been tampered with (duh).
Here's what my HBOOT says:
Code:
*** UNLOCKED ***
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
RADIO-10.13.9020.08_2M
eMMC-boot
Jul 12 2011, 15:29:51
I have no idea how he obtained S-OFF or did the unlock, and I have no idea of the phone has the stock radio/software/anything. All I want to do is use the stock ICS rom from Rogers, as I'm lending this phone from a friend. I'm hoping the wifi and cell data will be fixed with proper software.
if your using the zip file then you need to rename it to PG86IMG.zip and place it on the root of your sdcard. then boot into bootloader and accept the update.
if this doesnt work then relock the bootloader and then try running exe version from your pc.
btw what is your hboot?

Sooo, it started to update everything with the PG86IMG (i renamed the ICS SHOOTERU rom mentioned above) and about halfway through updating various things it powered off. It won't boot now, it gets stuck in a reboot loop, but I can still get into recovery and HBOOT. Going to try the exe while it's in HBOOT, see if that works (since I can't get the phone to fully power on.)
EDIT: So, since it's stuck in the bootloop now, I can't get the S-ON done. The RUU won't detect the phone now, either. (ERROR[170]: USB CONNECTION ERROR.
So I think I may have just bricked my phone.

Re-ran the PG86IMG.zip, CID is incorrect, the update failed. Do I have the incorrect ROM, or was the file I downloaded bad?
Not exactly sure. I am on a CDMA but most times I have to run the zip twice. Make sure you have downloaded the latest version. Also most sites post md5sums so you can check to make sure the download is correct.

I've MD5 checked both the Rogers Gingerbread and ICS ROMs from http://www.androidruu.com/index.php?developer=Shooter, they're good. Both get checked then tell me the CID incorrect!!! error. The radio currently installed matches the Gingerbread (WWE) ROM, but that's the first one I've tried (3 times each, just to be sure after reading above. Also, I am using the .zip files, the .exe files are the ones you run on your computer, right? (If I'm using the wrong files I'll be so pissed.)
Yes zip is for sdcard and exe for PC. Was the phone unlocked (htcdev or s-off) before?
Just reread your op. Got an idea but I have to find the files. You can still get into recovery right?
Could not find zip files right away but here is a thread with more info. Should have the zips in it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970252
The zip locks bootloader so you can run the pg86img. I forgot that it has to be locked because I use custom hboots that are locked but don't show **locked** or **relocked**.

Just checked back now, lots of technical stuff that's beyond my knowledge scope, but I did find the zip you referenced. I can still get into cmw so I should be able to do this, ill edit this post when I have results (or not XD)
EDIT: Bootloader is now ***RELOCKED***, after running the query then the relock, now trying the PG86IMG.zip again.
EDIT2: CID is still incorrect. Going to see if I can hit the ***LOCKED*** status instead of ***RELOCKED***, see if that makes a difference.
EDIT3: CID is still incorrect. Must I have the wrong image?
maybe the phone isnt rogers. try an European RUU
---------- Post added at 08:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:15 PM ----------
and if you just aren't able to run a RUU then just flash a stock rom in recovery. you might also have to update your firmware. put on root of sdcard, boot into bootloader and accept update

Are you sure that the bootloader says "Fastboot USB"?
When you boot the phone into the bootlader, you have to choose the "fastboot" option (select by pressing the power button). It will go into fastboot mode (and display "Fastboot"). Then, when you connect your phone to your PC via USB cable, it should connect to your computer (assuming you have the HTC drivers installed), and "Fastboot" will turn into "Fastboot USB".
Then in the command prompt on your PC, type "fastboot devices". If your phone is detected, it'll show you it's serial number.
You can also verify it's connected by checking Device Manager on your computer.
in case you dont have the latest drivers installed, I suggest you do that first.

Bah, I wasn't going into fastboot menu in the bootloader. Go me. It says HTC__001, which means it should be taking anything I throw at it.
EDIT: Changed the CID to ROGER001, the CID for Rogers devices using this information:

Threw the RUU at it, worked like a charm! I have a Rogers ICS HTC Evo 3D now! YAY!
Thanks for everyone!
EDIT2: Wi-fi still doesn't work... Probably a hardware issue at this point.

Download 1.15 stock hboot. Rename to PL83IMG.zip. when u renamed it make sure is not zip.zip cause this file is already zip so u try only to rename it to PL83IMG (right click the file in your pc and check properties to make sure windows got it already as a zip extension) and place in the folder that contains ( in ur pc) your android-adb folder*
there is where any zip should go, with the exception of user preferences location. (or different folder named by the user)
Step 1) adb reboot bootloader
Step 2) fastboot oem rebootRUU
Step 3) Command to directory containing your renamed hboot zip (i.e. C:\android-adb\)
Step 4) fastboot flash zip PL83IMG.zip
*** When it says it is done in the terminal/cmdprompt execute step 5 )
[The green bar only fills up about 75% of the way]
Step 5) fastboot reboot-bootloader
Profit. Put the RUU Folder in same directory. right click and run it as administrator

am Sure you know this , but sometimes we overseeing a simple step. The basic make sure usb debugging is check, fastboot uncheck, try change to different usb port 2, cause usb3 doesn't work as well are you using Windows 8? try windows 7 pc because w8 have some security issues to need to work around. Dont forget first to try to Update Android SDK manager.
Try to change the location of your android-adb (look inside of adt-bundle-windows) and move android-adb folder to C:\android-adb
because we don't use any other file but android-adb, so is more easy to command to this directory, and is in this directory
where we put the RUU and the hboot 1.15 renamed as PL83IMG.zip. then run the commands explained by torrented dev*
Step 1) adb reboot bootloader
Step 2) fastboot oem rebootRUU
Step 3) CD to directory containing hboot zip (i.e. cd C:\android-adb\)
Step 4) fastboot flash zip PL83IMG.zip

I've been able to return the hboot to 1.15 but the RUU.exe wont work. I get error 170. I use a stock htc cable. My hboot says its locked but i can still boot into my rom only when I have the ENG hboot but the RUU wont work unless im at 1.15. When i try to lock my hboot again it says its already locked but i still have root, rom and recovery access. I would love a definitive answer that will fix this phone before i smash it.
Thanks!:fingers-crossed:

Not a problem. Glad you got it working, Should also mention that I was trying Carbon also, and even after I restored and rerooted I still never got it working on mine. Ended up being able to just flash another rom without having to RUU the second time.
