When I put a AT&T simcard in the DNA I am able to make phonecalls but the data does not work. Do I need to add a APN or something else to get data to connect?

Did you change the mode after you put the AT&T sim in it?

Hello all.
I have unlocked Vibrant. I am traveling to Romania. I bought Orange Sim card, it works in my Vibrant, but I don't get any data service, does anybody knows how to make it work?
Thank you.
that's probably because you don't have the APN settings in your phone. either google their APN or just call Orange and ask them to give you the information that you need.
Yes, you are going to have to call them and ask them for the APN settings. Thats what I did and I am using the MySimpleMobile sim card.
Hi,
I hope this is the right place to post. I recently unlocked my Atrix and am now using it in Thailand with True Move (850mhz). The phone works fine for calls but I can't connect to the 3g or Edge/GPRS. The H+ in the top right of the screen is visible. Are there any settings I need to adjust? I plugged in a friends iphone 3gs sim card which was working fine with 3g and Edge/GPRS (on the iphone) but still no luck. Any ideas? I hope I'm missing something obvious here...
did you turn on the data roaming?
Under settings -> data manager -> data delivery I have backround data, data roaming, and data enabled all checked. Is there somewhere else I need to enable data? Its my first Android phone so sorry if the question seems obvious.
FWIW the 3g/4g worked on my AT&T sim card in the US.
Have you entered in an APN?

Just did this. Thanks a lot. I've been going crazy trying to figure out whats wrong with this!
I cannot modify and /or delete the APN of my unlocked tmobile LG L9 P769 10G. Now I can only make phone calls and text messaging; I cannot access data from my carrier. Does anyone have the same issue? How to fix this?
PS, P769 10G is still hard to root...
On my phone I had a default APN that I was not able to modify. However, I could add a new APN. Have you tried that? Who is your carrier?

My carrier is Straight Talk (AT&T). I can add a new APN, but I cannot activate the new APN. As a matter of fact, after I put the Straight Talk sim card in, there are three APN by default: ATT Phone, ATT WAP and ATT Broadband, but only ATT Phone can be chosen and none of them can be modified.

I'm not sure what else to tell you. I assume you are using the instructions from the following: http://straighttalksim.com/support-data.php
Mine uses AT&T as well and does show the defaults that ATT wants to use. However, I was able to add a new APN and then set it by hitting the radio button.
Have you tried restarting the phone after adding the APN?
Are you root?
I wonder if he tried my tethering hack and forgot that he made /system/etc/apns-conf.xml immutable.
If so all you need to do is run this command as root:
`chattr -i /system/etc/apns-conf.xml`
Then reboot just to be safe.
I have been using this rom recently : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2643031 and i was wondering what needs to be done once i put my friends sim card on my phone to get the lte? 4g? or even 3g working on my phone. You need to configure the APN's, you can google it "AT&T APN settings" in your galaxy go to "settings->in wireless & network look for 'more'->mobile networks->Access Point Names" there you can add a new APN.
I've discovered that unless I have Edge on my phone I can't make any calls or get texts. Even if my phone shows full bars. Does anyone else have this problem? I know that I can use WiFi calling, but that doesn't help me when I'm away from home.

Automatic is the only thing that gave a chance of getting a call out.
So assuming this is a g900T, which carrier are you on?
If you're on any cellphone carriers other than tmobile you need to check and most likely create a new APN (access point name) specific to that carrier.
