No you don't. Just get the CSC file and flash it. Give it at least a day. If not it could really be the sim fault.

There is a fair chance your efs got scrambled so your imei number is gone. Go to settings -- about phone -- status and check the imei. If it starts with 0049 its fake. You need to restore it then. If you backed up efs just restore it. If not flash stock with csc and should do the trick...

The firmare you need has to have three files
One with code in its name which you put in pda in odin
One with csc in It's name which you put in csc..
one with modem...
It's also recommended you flash with pit in cases like this...
Unfortunately not at the pc right now or would've posted a priper link for ya... will look for it anyways...
You sure you haven't got any efs folder backup?

Did you make an efs backup folder? If not you When you get the file, unzip it will come in .tar or .md5. Put it in PDA section.

This is for stock ics lph for i9100 if I'm not mistaken it has the necessary files inside including odin.
Here's a matching cf-root kernel to root after flashing http://download.chainfire.eu/147/CF-Root/SGS2/CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LPH-v5.2-CWM5.zip
You sound like you haven't got much experience with odin flashing so be sure you read about it before you flash.

[HELP] Flashing through Mobile Odin.

Hey guys, I need a little help here.
I've been using Mobile Odin Pro for quite some time now and it's really good.
However I need a little help with something.
I've downloaded the latest LPD from Nordic Countries. I also have the latest Brazilian LP7 Unbranded.
Can I flash LPD on Mobile Odin but with CSC from the Brazilian LP7?
How can I do that? Where is the CSC stored?
I noticed I can change the fields Cache, Hidden, etc individually after selecting LPD.
Thank you in advance for the answers.

[Q] How can I unroot my phone ?

Hi,
I want to unroot my SGS3 just to compare with stock ROM. I tried this :
http://galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-unroot/how-to-unroot-galaxy-s3-i9300/#comment-4415
But during the flash of cache.img everything stops and the phone is rebooting.
But like I said in the commentaries when my phone is rebooting I've a black screen. Then I tried to flash it directly with Heimdall but I've got this error
ERROR: Partition corresponding to -modem argument could not be located
Ending session...
Rebooting device...
Re-attaching kernel driver...

And when I remove the modem.bin my phone stays with the "Samsung" and never get to the PIN code.
Do you have any idea how could I unroot my phone ?
Thanks.
PS : I'm using Ubuntu, I can't use Odin.
Use mobile Odin. This can unroot I believe.
Edit: sorry this isn't correct search for cfroot (with cwm recovery) there is an unroot method in 2nd post (unable to post link atm, sorry)

Yes i read all your posts you have UBUNTU so what you need to do is buy ODIN mobile from play store download a stock rom depending on your country from sammobile.com. Extract the zip file get the tar file and put it into your sd and use mobile odin to flash back to stock.

Stuck in Download Mode

I just tried rooting my phone using Odin and was expecting phone to reboot. It didn't and instead is stuck in Download Mode after flashing the required .tar file. I cannot get to the home screen or anything like that. I have also searched for the stocked kernel from Samsung on their website to see if I can flash that using Odin. The only thing that shows is the download for Kies. My phone will not be recognized by Kies either.
I have a Telstra GT-19305T
Samsung Galaxy S III 4G phone

If you used cf root just re-flash with auto reboot unticked, when the flash has finished, pull battery, reboot into recovery, and this should trigger installation

I did use the wrong file :/
I used the CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md5 to root instead of CF-Auto-Root-m3-m3zh-gti9305.tar.md5
Now I can't get out from downloading mode.
I did try to Re Flash with CF-Auto-Root-m3-m3zh-gti9305.tar.md5, pull the battery and then enter Recovery mode, but nothing I jusr got to the recovery mode screen. nothing else..
What else can I try?

Unfortunately still no Network Coverage. I purchased a nexus 5 now, so I'm not trying to fix it. I will take it to the Samsung retailer and try to get it fixed for selling in the future though
