any way to keep certain app / apps in memory? - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

Is there any simple way to keep an app or a couple apps in memory?
I've googled all over, and I see a few suggestions, but nothing seems solid.
THIS seems to be the only popular thing with many people when it comes enabling better multi-tasking and keeping apps in memory
anyone ever try it?

that sounds interesting (i have not read that entire thread yet).

Yea I mean. I understand android handles multi-tasking by closing apps automatically to free up memory. But I know I have extra memory sometimes, and there are just one or 2 apps I would like to keep in memory.
Still havent attempted this yet, but I'm going to soon I think. There's just much to read on that thread before I try it.

Phone Uses up memory

this is something i've been noticing for a while. After i get a phone call or 2 the system memory starts getting more and more used up and oxios can't bring it down to as low before the phone calls. I've seen this happen on all the roms and with dotfreds task manager the phone application is running three times. I can't close any of them. I was wondering if there was fix for this or does it have to be like this ?
I have also noticed this. Something I found that gets the memory back is to open pie and goto a site that uses lots of resources,If I goto torquereport.com and browse around a little when I shut the browser down it has reclaimed a lot of the ram that I was unable to get back. Maybe there is a better way to reclaim it but I havent found it yet. I use oxios and memmaid.
Any programs installed. I found that as nice as it is, HTC Home eats up memory over the course of a day. The Titan has a well known memory leak problem. It can be somewhat circumvented, but you have to watch what programs you use.
Search on htis, there are dozens of threads about this on various forums, here, ppcgeeks.org, etc etc.
Furthermore why is this in the upgrading forum?

Memory and nav...

I tried searching but didn't find what I am looking for.
Issue: I run out of memory when using nav and music apps at the same time. This results in an unprompted soft reboot...
How can I fix this? I use my Eris as an Mp3 player only and have GSB pretty stripped out and I don't use hardly any apps other than that...any idears?
Yea, a great postulate in the result circumscribed RAM. However, you may want to get in accord with the V6 Script; it manages your Random Access Memory more remunerative in conjuction it is crucial and accentuated that these kinds of figures to be used on these restricted phones. Furthermore, they're is also another application called Ram Manager(in the market). I incite you to use them, in your desire.
Hopefully this helped

How to have commonly used apps always preloaded into the memory

I was wondering if there is a way to always keep commonly used apps preloaded into memory for instant access. (sms, contacts, browser)

Start them once, and they will be remaining in memory until Android OS decides the memory is better needed elsewhere.
What you describes is not The Android Way. Primary memory is the most critical resource in Android, lacking virtual memory. Due to this fact, an app may be killed by the OS if more memory is needed for other needs. On the other hand, an app often used, is very likely to reside in memory, giving you this "instant access" you want. If you'd be able to lock an app and its memory, the phone would get out-of-memory not being able to release it when you try stating Angry Birds.
This said, some devices have "Don't keep activities", "Background limit: no processes" or so much bloatware installed, leaving an app gets it more or less instant killed, causing the next start of it to be considerably slower. In this case, the solution is to adjust those parameters, not forcing your apps active.
Read this thread. It might give you some light. Specially the " bulletproof " thing.
The only reason I'm needing this is because of the buggy dialer/contacts that comes with the stock sgs s3 ics 404, where if they go out of the memory they take like 1 sec to load, whereas different dialers and any other stuff is pretty much instant.
It's annoying to experience that delay whenever you need to make a call on a flagship smartphone.
And other market dialers are ugly and/or need the stock dialer to open for them to work.
I would like to avoid rooting g and losing my warranty as well.

Phone constantly reboots + Lags intensely

Hello,
I've searched but nobody seems to have my particular problem. I moved a bunch of Apps via App2Sd from my Phone to my SD card, thinking it would help eliminate the "Insufficient storage device" error that kept popping up. It did the trick, but my phone became insanely slow as a response...and it periodically reboots every 1-3 minutes. I'm not quite sure what I did - or rather, how exactly moving Apps to my SD card could wrought such havoc on my phone. My phone is not rooted, and I have not made any effort to modify it beyond the normal means. Could anyone assist me? I'd appreciate it.

Did you move widgets or launchers?

I have a very vague recollection of the stock recovery but I believe there is a way to wipe CACHE (not DATA) from it. Try that first.
Also, If you're not rooted then that app is not doing anything you can't already do on the stock rom. I would try moving the apps back and then get rid of that app. You can move individual apps through phone settings > applications. That app only moves apps that can already be moved by stock Android.
If all else fails you may be looking at a factory reset. That's the crummy thing about an unrooted phone, if something goes wrong you don't have many options.

I can't specifically remember, but I moved almost everything. It's likely that I moved my launcher, GoLauncher. As for widgets, I only have one widget, BusinessCalendar, and since that doesn't function from the SD card (as far as I know), I left it there.
In the end I removed my SD card and, predictably, the phone worked just fine. I wanted to avoid it, but I guess I'm just gonna mount and clear my SD card.

For some reason it seems not much people know that if all your apps are on your INTERNAL it will be extremely faster. The UI throughout the phone will significantly increase. Guarantee you that.
The phone has to locate read the app from the SD then boot it save data on SD= lag.
As above, and some apps do not play well on the external sd even though they can be put there. I'm pretty sure the launcher should be on the internal sd.
If you really are out of space on the internal, then only move one, or a small number of apps to external, and then only one at a time, to see the effects. Also, choose the ones you use the least.
I'd suggest you move everything back to the internal memory and see if the phone functions normally again. If so, then move apps to external as I mentioned above. If not, you may have to wipe data/factory reset and set everything up all over again.
What ROM are you running? I recommended flashing something light and tight to improve your overall experience. Try Ethereal, or Vagabond for that matter. Light GB ROMs, and super stable.

Phone freezes, reboots, or does "nothing" at all when moving app/s to SD Card

Phone freezes, reboots, or does "nothing" at all when moving app/s to SD Card
Ah, the age old problem with moving apps.
I recently found my way back to a PA, AOKP, CM ROM (Jellybam).
Unfortunately, I have some nerve damage in my hand. Since the invention of the 4.2 JB keyboard, I've been able to use my Note more frequently, and thoroughly. There are various reasons why I need to use this ROM in particular, one of them being that customizability is a necessity, and Roms like Avatar, Chameleon, and PACMan just aren't there yet, either in performance, or stability. I spent the whole day looking for an alternative, but none came closer to meeting my needs, while still being callable of daily driving.
My issue is, I have a large collection of apps, and I'm leaving for vacation. Many of them hold an extremely large cache of offline data, while others are games that have 100+APK files, and 1-2GB of OBB or other SD Data. I still have a ton of apps I need to install, and the inherent 2gb limit of Android is seriously going to make my life tough. My family is counting on me for maps, itinerary, and even entertainment.
These apps could easily be installed if I could simply move a dozen or so of the largest apps, and a dozen or so of the medium sized apps to the SD card.
However, upon clicking the "Move to SD Card" button in the app info panel, one of a few things happens. The button might Greg out, and say "moving" for hours, and never get there, the phone could freeze, requiring a reboot as soon as I try to back out, hit the home button, or do anything except scroll; or the phone might freeze and reboot, or just reboot immediately upon clicking the move button.
Occasionally, I'll be successful. I've tried clearing a the data from a few system apps, like "Media Storage", and I'm not sure if it worked or not, but over a period of around ten restarts, I managed to get three apps transferred to the "SD Card", although they definitely were not the apps I needed to move. The ones I managed to move were ones I chose at random while I flashed several kernels, root .zips, recoveries, mods, etcetera. They were all less than 25mb.
I'd owe you forever, and would be willing to assist you on a project, or finding a fix for some of your own technological ailments, if you can help me with this.
A search of XDA, and Google's hive-mind brings up a couple thread where the issue is discussed, but those were from years ago, and only one was on the same ROM as I am, and that thread was deleted--all that remains was a description and the details of it in the search index.
So, a penny for your thoughts? Even if you don't have anything concrete, the discussion, suggestions, and conversations might help.
Mad thanks all around.

So, after some more screwing around, I found that indeed, clearing the data for the "Media Storage" app temporarily fixes the problem for all but 2 minutes. I'm woefully unprepared to understand the app-- particularly whether it's a contaner of sorts for media thumbnails, tags, etc...or...whateer....the...other....option.....is.....
I suppose i'll try pulling a TiBu Pkg of a "Media Storae" app from another ROM, import it into this one, and fire it up.
Before i cleared it, the app had 27mb of data and cache, and aftered i cleared it, it slimmed down to 7. Within a minute or two, it was back up to 27mb, and my phone was freezing on the transfer of apps to my sd card again.
Possibly your phone is just too low on memory and you don't have enough memory to do the move to sd card. Try temporarily removing some apps and then move your big ones and all that you can and then install the apps back.
Or you could backup a few apps with TB that you don't use much which will free up some memory. Then when you need the app use TB to restore it quickly.
Cache can be a killer. Just removed a little over 200MB of cache files myself this morning. Try a good cache cleaner like "Clean Master."
If your phone is loaded with media files then your media data will be that high. Sounds like to me your phone is simply overloaded.
