I like the Samsung "S Note" app. Is it possible to install it on the DNA? It's nice for making notes with a stylus, palm cancellation and all....
Probably not. I'm not familiar with the app but it might need Touchwiz framework like most Sense apps need the Sense framework to run. And even if it did run, the DNA doesn't have the same kind of touch screen as the Note so the stylus would not work.
I'm sorry, the app is called S Memo. Yes, I know that DNA doesn't have wacom technology in its screen and active stylus support. But the app works just fine with a normal stylus or a finger. I just think it's a great app for handwriting.

the notes app on the DNA looks to be working just fine for it. have you tried that yet?
Yes, Notes is not bad. Samsung S Memo is smoother with handwriting though. But the main thing - palm cancellation! And the notes on a cork board look cuter I know, it's silly...

i doubt you'll get palm cancellation. that is created when the s-pen is detected which causes the touchscreen to ignore any other presses until it loses contact with the s-pen. our screens aren't designed to accept the s-pen thus you'll not achieve that effect
of course this is just my theory on things as my laptop uses that method for touchscreen
Yes, you're probably right. Makes sense. But there are other apps that utilize palm cancellation. They use other methods though, and that's why they don't work very good.

Thanks for your suggestion. I downloaded it and will give it a try. There are so many of those apps, it's a little pain in the a$$ to try them all and find the best. But this one looks promising, even though it seems to be pretty new.

But i think it's too expansive. Anyway i bought one.
That actually is one of the better looking ones that I have seen. but...
This is a no shame post because I have used the Gel Skin from ATT from day one. I like that I can handle it as if it has no case or cover because its so thin, and I don't have to fold around some kind of case to use it.
http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-ph...urer=htc&q_model=prod5240321#fbid=Cd8OIMPd4At
Though, this is just my style. I also prefer to not have a case on my EVO.
My roommate has the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 with the bluetooth keyboard case (the brand name escapes me), but its just too much work for me to fold it and use the keyboard. It turns it into a laptop instead of the tablet experience (no peripherals, please!)
Nice case
That's one of the nicer ones I have seen, too bad the manufacturer failed to notice that the JetStream has a PEN! It is also too bad that the 'official' HTC case is functionally Crap!
I have three cases for my JetStream, all have issues of one sort or another.
If I find one that I really like I will let y'all know.

Yes I agree. I purchesed one for my HTC Flyer and most likely order one for my JS I just got yesterday. Just need to make sure I will be keeping the JS.

The Blurex case is very similar from a functionality standpoint.
I've tried many different styluses but none quite satisfied my artistic side until the Sensu https://www.sensubrush.com/

Nice painting, lolz all I'll do with stuff like that is my stickman figures
With which app did you draw/paint that?
video looks cool. A paint brush seems it wouldn't be able to get in those fine spaces and would be for more blob tools.
I guess I would need to see how sensitive it is on the screen.
I used Infinite Painter, I like the selection of brushes and blenders. My all time digital favorite is ArtRage, but not available for Android yet.
Wow, thats pretty cool! I use the Jot for everything but for painting admittedly it sucks horrifically. I really like how it is an actual brush it sure made your drawing look amazing!
That looks neat, but is it really comparable to the kind of experience you could get using a Wacom tablet? In my experience, the tf101 is too laggy with my capacitive stylus.

I doubt it comes anywhere close to using a Wacom tablet but I don't find it too laggy. I think the biggest difference is the pressure sensitivity or lack of. ASUS makes a Windows tablet with a Wacom stylus but the price is steep.

I'm curious; is there a paid version? I can't find it on the market, and apparently the free version doesn't let you save?.
Also, this comment (about the free version) is interesting: "PLEASE make it compatible for tablets like the ASUS Transformer TF101 and Xoom etc as it doesn't work right and the scaling is a bit off". It sounds like your experience is a bit different, to say the least Any idea what this person is talking about?
Oop, just thought of something else. What's the resolution of the canvas? IIRC, Autodesk's SketchBook is limited to 1024xsomething which is pretty lo-res.
I don't even know if this is possible on the EVO LTE or not. But I don't see why it wouldn't be seeing as how it worked on HC. Is there anyway to get the pen from the View/Flyer to function with our EVO LTEs?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Impossible. Well at least not in the way it works on the View/Flyer. The Flyer/View 4G use a N-trig digitizer that can differentiate between the pen and our fingers (hold your tablet at an angle and you'll be able to see dots spaced out evenly. That's what allows the tablet to know what is coming into contact with the screen.
I'll see if I can snap a picture.

Indeed, I don't have a pen for my view (I can't find a place that sells them ) but I did try it on a friends flyer and it's awesome for handwriting.
For anyone else interested in what I said but you couldn't see it, here's a pic. Look at the dots near the reflection of my fan light. That's what makes that digitizer special. Ignore my fingers, it made it easier for the camera to focus on flat almost non-existent points xD

What do you guys use to carry your DNA when running or otherwise working-out? A few Google searches turned up some cheap generic armbands, but that's about it. I'm curious to see what you folks are using.
Thanks
I use the holster/shell combo that Verizon sold. Can't even feel it when running since its on my waistband. Coupled with my Bluetooth headphones its really non intrusive

I think I would prefer something on the arm, but this waistbelt gets a lot of praise from runners. Very different than a fanny pack, so no jokes lol.

Thanks for the pics and suggestion. It looks almost too big. Is it comfortable?
To those that suggested pants pockets, I have tried that too, but it often pulls the headphones out of my ears.

I'd say so. The DNA is pretty thin and light, it doesn't feel cumbersome.
Looks awesome, with the thin tips just like the Galaxy Stylus Pen.
What I like, from the picture, is that the button is located higher than the Samsung own Stylus Pen, which I assume will make it more comfortable to use.

So was I, but I start taking tons of notes and the small size of the pen is not too comfortable to use...
Just an option for those who are looking to buy the larger Galaxy Style Pen (Samsung do sell this)...

Its $39.99 at Best Buy. The price you quoted seems to be from Amazon 3rd party seller.
The pen is newly launched, I think. All Best Buy store in my area only have ship to store options as none of them have it in stock.
I'd like the button to be closer to the tip. I have to keep sliding my finger back to push the button, or use my thumb. That pen is cool though!

All Wacom styluses are designed to press the button with your thumb, not the index finger, so if you use your thumb, you are doing it right
