Is it possible to get the Picasa enabled gallery running together with the cm10 camera ?
I know they are stiched together these days, but isn't it possibke to install both so that there are 2 galleries and two camera apps and i can pick the ones i want ?
Best Regards
Nick
Well i found a workarround to my problem (which does not solve it...):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30657889#post30657889
but that involes to use another gallery ... in this case from cm6, i could also use some 3rd party app, but want to use the stock gallery with picase support ... there must be a way !

Everyone has been super helpful.. thank you
I updated to 2.1 and flashed to the Blue Sparks rom
I am missing a few standard apps that I think I can get back.. ?
The default image/video viewer is missing for me and 3D Gallery doesn't work well with Facebook or the Phonebook/Contacts..
I searched and found a post with a rar full of default 2.1 stuff but the links are all dead. Is there a more up to date source to get them?
Yes I have tried the "clean" method from super one click but it is not present in the list.

Camera roll and some other functions call SE's Mediascape specifically for photo and video to work with other apps so I installed mediascape and the media provider and it all works flawlessly.
he bros is there anyway to get stock 2.1 cam on my cm6/cm7? it it is possible can u show me the way to do it? thanx in advance
or which 3rd party cam app might be the best if its not possible?
I´m also in the trials of this.
I have the original APP but have not found out what I´m doing wrong yet.
It´s installed and all but I just get FC when trying to anything else then taking an actual picture.
As for third party APP´s I use Vignette which has nice features and pretty reliable.
Here is what I found since my last post.
So it seems a nogo..
it's possible to use the stock camera in cm6 nd cm7
the stock 2.1 camera can be used with cm6/cm7. am using it for AGES!!!!!....see the attached url for the stock working camera app....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149275
use root explorer to copy the file to /system/app and set the permissions as "644". but the camera is only for still photos. for camcorder, it'll FC.
for camcorder, use LGCAMPRO 5.95 for "continuous autofocus" video.just set the focus mode as "semi-continuous"....
Exactly. Not working them;-)
Sent from my X10mini using XDA App
I have the latst CM10 that was posted on the forums but the camera app is not showing for me. Anybody know why? I installed gapps.
Nobody ha this issue before? I know the camera works because I can use it in google hangouts, I just don't have a camera app. Is there somewhere I can get it or does anyone understand why the stock isn't showing up?
It's odd that you don't have a camera app since it's a system app. Could you have accidently disabled it? If you didn't, you can find the Android 4.2 camera and flash it. Works fine except for photosphere.
Had the same problem; I was following one of the tutorials that advised to desactivate Gallery, but the photo app dissapeared when doing so. Reactivating Gallery brings back the photo app. Hope this helps...
the gallery apk does contain the camera runtimes, they aren't seperate.
Greetings everybody,
As the title suggests, I want to switch to using a custom rom as my daily driver,
First I like the stock android look better than touchwiz's, and having the ability to tweak my phone to my liking is tempting.
But there are a few things holding me back from doing that, I've tried using AOKP 4.2.2 ROM a few days ago but went back to the factory setup immediately after for a few reasons:
1- Camera's auto-focus has gotten slow and faulty, and the quality of the images worsened.
2- I couldn't sync facebook with my contacts (profile pictures show on contacts).
3- Many apps that came built in with samsung's touchwiz were removed and I had to download similar ones from the play store (music player, fm radio, file browser etc... I also found that setting up my ringtone is a bit fiddly.
If somebody could help me find a way to address some of these problems that's be very much appreciated.
Thanks in a advance!
I'm sorry I'm gonna post it on Q&A, just delete it from here.
There's a report button that you can click to ask for it to be moved

Quality of images can't be solved, but auto focus is solved in the recent nightlies
Use haxsync or uber sync for fb contacts
The samsung apps need the framework (touchwiz) and will not work on AOSP

Use touchwiz based roms , you ll have the exact same stock look and feel and better performance , the apps you wanted will be present in them and they will mostly be stable , so you wont have any problems , plus you ll have root so you can do all the tweaking you wanted and are interested in
Go to this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2220154 - look at roms under samsung base Enjoy! Welcome to Rooting , Youre never going back !
I had the same thing but I just kept flashing roms to see wich I like best. Seems sotmax seems ok for now im just waitin for a 4.2 rom wich does not drain my battery while I setup my phone and apps. (I found out if I read properly it might be kernel related and that there is no official good kernel for the 4.2 android.)

Well, while no developer fixes the front camera, so that there is a way to take pictures.
Using palicativo Snapchat Save Picture
For this you will need two apps, the Official SnapChat SnapChat and save
Download the official application of the snap chat and create an account:
After this, desistale the official app and install SnapChat Save
Login with your account and open the camera as soon as he enters to take a photo and click the Save icon to save photos
Ps.:I'm using the Rom Slim Ben 4.3 Galaxy Player 5 USa:cyclops:
You can take pictures with newer roms!
On my player, I flashed CM11 (4.4.2). I moved from 4.3 because the camera was slightly fixed. If you set the camera mode from SVGA to VGA, the camera saves and flashes without crashing the app! You can upgrade from 4.3 to try. I haven't tried this in slimbean or beanstalk, I'll try later. Just to let you know.

You can also use FastBurstCamera instead of this workaround. The app is buggy and consistently complains about the trial version, but it still probably is more efficient than the above method.
