[Q] Mobile Internet Data - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm new to the S3, I used the Facebook app for few minutes and surf two pages of web pages, my data usage went to 9MB, I only get 100MB data a month, is there a way to compress internet data to use less?

The facebook app or any app for that matter would download HQ images to fit the screen. Any compression that you'd want to use will be affect the image clarity. At the end of the day its upto you how you make this tradeoff between quality and quantity.
To save on data usage you could try using the opera mini browser or similar..

why is less than 50mb on phone storage is considered low?

when i reach less than 50mb on the phone storage the phone keeps showing that im low on memory and my tmobile visual voicemail wont save any more messages.
50 mb is still a lot wth??
and the low memory notification keeps showing up unless i uninstall apps and go above 50 mb again :/
help please....
Because the phone comes with like 400. Lol. And if u do about an hour of web browsing u will see that about 15 of that 50 will be used up really easily until u erase browser cache

You could try a cache cleaner. I am not obsessive about it, just clean them once a month or so.

If you click further on "Android System", it will tell you how much data was foreground data and how much it was background data. If you recently added your Google account, it's normal to have a lot of data transferred for the first sync.
Well it could be as the person above stated. However, maybe you've set it up so it syncs every hour? or weather syncs every 30 mins? There could be a whole variety of things that could increase your data usage.

[Q] Good app for Data Monitor

Im looking for a Data Monitor. But no the usual an app that tells you how much data you have used during a period of time. Im looking something like a process manager, but for data. An app where I can see which app is currently using data, kinda like a live streaming data monitor.
I've already look but all I could find is the typical app shows the data usage.

facebook took lots of space on mobile

hi friends i have xperia E on my phone facebook works great without any problem but every time after install new updates it took more and more places on phone now has 143MB
is any solution how reduce this space cos i think that on this more than 100 mb is also previous installation of app ?? or what ?
thanks for help me
i took this app on sd card via link to sd but still is took lots of space.
The average app size of Facebook is 200MB. There is no way to reduce that. You can delete the data and cache, but the second you open it, it fills back up to 150-200MB.
You can try an alternative app, though I can't guarantee if that's safe or actually reduces the space requirements.

High Data Usage Google Photos

Every month I'm using about 25 gigs of data from the photos app. I've tried tweaking the settings to only upload via WiFi but still the data usage is exorbitant. What am I missing?

Same here. Your data isn't wasted by google photos for sure...
