[Q] All the "humans' feature" is lost in my SIII - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My uncle bought me a Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300
Android 4.1.1
Build number ALPS.ICS.MP.V2.6
custom build version 000121114
When I use it , i found that it is not having all those smart stay , s beam features ... All those features by samsung is missing .
What can i do ?

Looks like its a fake to me re: Build numbers....

Smart stay etc is in Settings - System - Motion.
Sbeam in Settings - Wireless - More Settings
Not there?

It's a Chinese rip off
You have this: http://efocuszone.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=63_85&product_id=139

that's sucks ... it's very similar.

Got it solved after flashing back into stock rom . Thanks for your replies :good:

Wait a minute.. Am I miss something here?
You version is 4.1.1 yet your build is ICS.
Why did you have to flash BACK to stock?
We're you not on stock already?
Was the device new?

Wut?
I thought build numbers: Build number ALPS.ICS.MP.V2.6
are for fake devices, how did you flash back to stock with that? and on what rom was it running?

Hold Home + Vol UP + Power.
If it really doesn't work, it's probably a fake.

[Q] HELP. Phone wont switch on

Guys, I tired to flash the s3 look and feel rom from the galasy s2 android development theard on my s2 and now it wont swtich on. It will boot in download mode but no recovery. when I connect it to power, the battery icon only comes on once and then it switches off. Sometimes the screen starts flashing.
Could someone kindly advise how can I get around this?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
If the phone boots only into download mode, that's still a good sign. Just use the Odin tool and flash the new ROM. I know that doesn't help but need to stay calm and find the proper images.

You've obviously flashed it incorrectly or onto a incompatible rom or device variant. Next time read before flashing.
thanks guys,
do I flash a new kernel using odin? if yes, which one?
Thanks again.
Any one you want. Download a stock ICS or GB ROM from sammobile.com, and flash through Odin. Lucky you didn't brick your device, READ TWICE, FLASH ONCE.
Chris.
You should also confirm what model phone you have. Look on the label under the battery. What does it say for model?
flashing the stock firmware is the best option .. that solved my problem in the past .
flash the stock rom using odin . That is the best way to revive a bricked phone .
Oh good lord I hope this guy actually has an i9100.
I do have s2 i900. I am downloading I9100XXLPH.zip as per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458
Is this ok? or do I need stock rom/kernel? if yes, could you advise where I could get that from?
Thanks

Can't use torch light or vide light but flash working fine !!

Hey frnzz plz help !
i got a used S2 today, flashed resurrection ROM and i noticed that the flashlight app doesn't works...
I opened camera , flash was working, then i shifted to video recorder, again the video light not working
Is this a hardware problem or some software based problem like Modem or baseband ?
No HW problem, give a try to another app.
Bro i've changed 5 apps, no luck, changed ROM again No luck, changed the baseband again no Luck...
Flash works in every ROM, autofocus light doesn't and niether do the video light...
Can it be a problem with bootloader or something else...
the flash fires ok while taking pix but no video light
Haha perhaps that's why user sold it...
But don't worry, your phone camera firmware has been replaced to fix the Framrates issue, but that firmware has issues with flash light like you are having.
Just go to camera firmware thread and learn how to flash the official firmware back. It's easy so no need to worry.

I'm sorry - did you say abt some dial code ?
Bro i flashed 2.3.6 but still the camFW remains SIEG03
In samsung apps, i can't even find any thing like camera firmware updater !
Very busy these days, please help your self, now you are on GB, good.
Now go to camera firmware thread, and learn to change the firmware using the hidden menu, not with app.
Ask someone there to help you or wait a day or 2, I'll detailed it as it's not common and not many know it.
Did you solved this problem??...i have this issue with my Samsung Captivate Glide :S

yes u can flash the same for sure
since the baseband is related to ur phone connection with ur netwrkservice provider, which can be changed later if any issue arises

[Q] Galaxy S II update from 2.3.4 to ICS

Hello xda-devs,
I rooted my sgs2 a while back , but now with the official release of ICS on my phone , I'd like to update to it.
My questions are: Can I do it without unrooting the phone? If not , how can I unroot my phone along with most of the apps I got that only work on rooted devices?
Thanks in advance

So I'm guessing ... not?
If you can flash your stock kernel, then you are good to go.
If not, then you can flash the same firmware via Odin

3. Read the flashing Guide here
4. Extract the zip file you downloaded.
5. Flash the firmware via Odin
done.
When you are done, let me know.

You have to Root again. Actually rooting is much easier in ICS.
First, you need to post your Firmware details: Goto Settings > About phone, and post everything you see.

as you are running liquid smooth, you should probably have a kernel that supports triangle away. open the app and reset the flash counter to 0. then just flash a stock firmware of "your region."

no problem with MG4! it has good stable performance. you may flash MB5 though no problem that's your wish. but be sure you back up your efs before flashing any firmware released after MG4 including itself!

you may back it up using an app "HC kTool." you may also back it up from recovery mode(only philz recovery can do that).
