It seems that it have support for 76-108 Mhz
I did a little test with the FM Radio app from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=842813
Its working on the Samsung Galaxy S III i9300
But then i will lose the recording feature and the size of the app will be weird.

[Q] T-Mobile USA - 4G

This link is telling me T-Mobile USA is on its way to get its own Galaxy SII 4G.
Once launched in the States, late this fall, Will the UK version "capture" the 3G/4G signal/band?

No, the T-Mobile version will have a different hardware radio that supports their frequencies. This is no way and there never will be a way to use the I9100 on T-Mobile US 3G.

Why is that? Do you have any specs that support your statement?

Look up the current Galaxy S II on samsung.com and it will not list the 1700mhz umts band. This band is what T-Mobile US uses for 3G.
Or you can try searching the xda forums for the numerous other threads explaining this.....

[Q] GLONASS support on S2

Hi Guys,
Do our galaxy support GLONASS.
I believe Galaxy note is having GLONASS support and using same processor as S2.

No GLONASS is not supported on GS2, only Galaxy Note
I dont think GLONASS has anything to do with the processor.

GOOGLE
Today Qualcomm announced that any device with a Snapdragon S2 or S3 processor is capable of accessing both satellite networks, but the feature must be enabled by the carrier on each specific device.

This question about GLONASS-support is relevant indeed, because we really know that S2 has the same processor as Note. But could somebody tell, if some kind of firmware-update (or hack) could be made to activate the support? The location-chip in S2 is obviously different than that in Note...

Samsung Note i717 LTE

Hi guys,
i am interested in buying the following phone and i noticed that the 4G wont work here in Australia as Australia uses different frequency for 4G.
Now what i wanted to know is this:
Is it possible to change the 4G frequency from LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 1700 / 2100 to LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600?
Paul
do you know of any other samsung devices with that LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600 radio that uses the Qualcomn SOC?
if the answer is yes, then chances are likely to work
Yes, i found this device, same speed and model CPU
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_ii_hd_lte-4198.php
Does this mean if i download the radio off the Galaxy S 2 onto this Note i717 that i should be able to get 4G speeds here in Australia (LTE 800, 1800, 2600)
no, you will need to download the radio off Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE SHV-E120S, and then it might work
yea that is what i meant, thank you so much for this mate, i will see what i can do.
i noticed you have a Samsung Note i717, would you like to try this out for me please
Hi Man are you sucess to change lte 2600mhz i also want do it please let me know thanks

i was told that it cant be done as it is a hardware mod that needs to be done and not firmware.
i was going to buy this phone but since the galaxy s iii is coming out, i thought i preorder that as the price for the s iii and i717 were roughly the same.
i orginially wanted the note due to its large screen but since the s iii has a 4.8" screen i thought i buy that since the diff in size is only .5cm
Thanks, but Mr allgamer said can change?

4G Antenna

All S3 has the 4G antenna, they just pick up different data freq? I got the i9300 and currently reside in US under AT&T. KNow if there are anny ways to receive 4G? The phone according to specs can only do 4G in europe and such, but any one have any idea?

i9300 does not have LTE. The max you get with it is hspa+
Unwanted info: As of today you will get edge only on T Mo US.

where did you find that spec??? It's wrong.. international version doesn't have a LTE/4G Antenna.
Only the Korean (exynos) and the US (qualcomm s4) versions have 4G/LTE as far as I know.
Most of the websites say the s3 is 4G friendly or regional, etc., All that means is it's supported in certain regions (south Korea, US)
The i9300 does have the 4g bands except 4g lte bands for AT&T in the US.

We don't have 4G LTE bands, but we do have "faux" G bands though.

[Q]how to eneble LTE

how to eneble LTE in galaxy siii?
i had find it in 4.0.4 version throu secret code...
but now i cant see this menu!
go to settings ->More Settings (Wireless and Networks) -> Mobile Networks -> Network Mode -> Choose LTE
Just wondering why you would need a secret code to enable LTE on 4.0.4? You do have the i9305 (the one with LTE) not the i9300 (without LTE)?

i have the i9300 .. i had enable 4G on 4.0.4 it was software resticted not hardware...
(p.s. i know that some international models <i9300> have LTE chip)
AFAIK the i9300 doesn't have the required LTE-Chip in it's CPU, so technically 4G shouldn't be possible on the device.
Well i that case i can't help you, i'm sry m8.
I found nothing 'bout this on the internet, do you have a link or anything else, where there's more details 'bout what version in which countries (could) have the required LTE-Chip?

Yes on the i9305
But then good luck getting real 4G, not 3G+ tweaked and marketed as 4G like many telco's are doing...
Is it possible to replace stock i9300 modem with 4g LTE modem from i9305?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
S3 in Canada, the US and South Korea all have LTE..as far as I know.. most other countries have the quad core, non LTE version..firmware cannot fix it..you will need to change the chip.
