Hi guys,
I sold my S2 because the screen was broken but now I'm thinking about buy another one.
My doubt is, should I buy another SII or instead go for the Gnexus?
SII - > 250€
Galaxy Nexus -> 275€
Both are new phones and I have the chance to buy for a great price.
I know many of you will say "go for Nexus 4" but it isn't coming to Portugal soon and I need a phone ASAP (nexus 4 is out of stock 4 life).
I know pros and cons of both, but they look very similar and my kind of use fits the both.
My question is, with these prices, which phone would you go?
I have s2 but i'm for gnexus, why? because of larger hd screen, opensource everything, ... I buyd s2 because it was cheaper than gnex and have better graphics card oh, also, i don't like gnex because of not having memory card slot

Well thread locked. I usually don't like these threads as it leads to, you guessed it flaming. If you ask in device forums obviously your answers will be skewed. You should never buy a device because of "he say she say" specially from a forum. The specs are more than available, the frustrations of the devices are as well.

On a different note, you might want to consider getting a Note. If you don't mind the size, you might be able to get it for $150, just a little more than the sgs2. It's only for new and added lines but people have gotten lucky with csr. Read thread if interested.

I love my SGS2, but I don't know your criteria so I cannot give advice. Compare the pros and cons of each side, then decide.

What I was trying to say in so many words that unless you have the means, buying every or waiting for the latest device is useless as there is always something better coming around the corner.
Sorry if I sounded like a jackass. I agree with your post btw.
The way I see it is,, we KNOW the SG2 is a great device with plenty of support. I'm sure the SG3 will be great as well, but I wouldn't hesitate to get the SG2, it is a sure thing!
I love my sgs2 but if I was in your shoes now I think i would wait. Those new processors that use 50% less power sound like a winner. I'd wait if you can. If you can't the sgs2 is great

I'd say that's a good choice. You won't regret it. I'm glad these folks could get you on board!!
Looking at the Captivate, I think it only makes sense to hold on to the GS2 for at least another 6 months before moving on. Development doesn't really start to take off until the device has been out for 6 months to a year.

Agreed. I was a Captivate early adopter (the day it came out) and I didn't have much fun. Looking back at those forums now there is quite a bit to be excited about.

SGIII wont be available on AT&T( if it comes at all, which it should) until at least September, but more than likely be October (just like the GSII). If you have an upgrade now and want a phone, get the GSII... if you can wait 6-8 months, hold out for the GSIII.

not necessarily true. We have more available roms now but 75% are just hellraised, so no actual dev'ing was done for the i777.

No most of them at this point are manually made and not just hellraised, a few weeks ago that was a different story

By the time the SGSIII comes here, they'll be teasing the NEXT greatest phone. If you need a phone, the i777 is a great device.

The same reason why PC hardware has become a non-factor, software has not caught up to the processing power of the hardware. A captivate will perform 90% as well as the SGSIII on a custom ROM. Battery life will probably be better too.

+1 for this - if you can, I'd at least wait until it's announced and see the specs. One other consideration - if you like to root, load ROMs, themes, play with the settings above and beyond stock, get the SGS2 - it will take time to build up a community for the 3 when it comes out.

Wait for LTE version or note 2 and test them personally in the phone shop. No need to rush to buy the phone. Just my 2 cent

I think you will find is you use search, that this question has been asked so many times all the answers/opinions have been posted already.....and all the people that answer these questions are thoroughly bored of repeating ad infinitum the same old stuff.......so do your research and all the knowledge will be yours.

Pebble blue, 32/64GB .. that's it.
The phone is amazing, no issues so far.
This is my best phone ever! Always had SonyEricsson and I'm glad I chose the S3! I tried other ROMS, but I like the stock rom from Samsung more
Build quality is okay, it's plastic, but it is well-built and with a bumper I only feel bumper and screen. I dropped out once from like 1,5mtrs got some little damage on the corners, but I can't see them with my bumper, so they don't exist.
But if I could choose now, I would have a look @ the note 2, because that's an S3+

My Intention was not too be rude hahaha i was excited. Anyone takers on the port? pretty please stinky like some old cheese. Given I have three sons and two daughters, knowning what I know now. I would have traded them a long time ago for something that was "the it thing" at the time......

But asking anybody has experienced ios or iphone 4 worth over s2 over style performance etc.
Still not get it why droid fans and iphone fans clash here and there..

Yeah that's right, try and sound patronizing, that makes your topic make much more sense.
If you actually read my signature I have both Galaxy S2 AND iPhone 4S so I am in no way bias when I say that getting a iPhone 4S as main device instead of I9100 is a big downgrade. An iPhone is not a real smartphone in my opinion and is simply a nice looking toy, however I use it in some scenarios for certain apps/games or when I need a secondary device.
Anybody can't keep s2 throughout his or her life he will move to another phone 1 yr or 2 yr later so i think s2 owners know what taste they like.. So s2 que n ans section is correct place for this topic..

Sorry if im flaming I wish the best of luck in trading and I dont know what the plus more is. Lots of people are very satisfied with this phone. Hope u can get iit but dont expect much. Gn2 is not worth trading unless its for something more likable and high end

I would if the DNA had more storage, but my last video recording was 13gb. DNA won't meet my needs.

I'll be the one to say it, you are out of line. The marketplace isn't down. It was closed due to high number if scams. Buying and selling us no longer to be done on xda and further was never to be done by pm. Take it to cl.

Anyways, I thought I could use XDA to get the word out. So this could be discussed via email. Not to use the Q&A as a marketplace or anything. But it seems like I am stuck with this device forever, so it doesnt really matter anymore.
