Bumper case with a glass-back phone..
Why not just get one with a handle across the top, they you could actually use it as a curling rock.
I'm totally with you on the bumper case. Want want WANT. I've also seen some cases that are silicone with a clear plastic backing... might do in a pinch. Still much prefer a bumper (that's not $35... yeesh).
I have Belkin Bumper and I'm happy with it.. The only Con I have is the Headphone Jack/Port.. I have the Cassette Adapter in my car and it does not fit as the hole on the top is small. For that reason I might want to sell this case. If I can and get a new simple one.

Yes they cover the LED. (As its 2 layer case)
I hate the bumper case. So ugly and bulky. You can remove the rubber part from the outer shell and that's the size I wish it was. But you can't use it that way since it is loose and looks unfinished.

I agree that the bumper is too expensive for what it is. I spent $35 on a bumper I used for 3 days, and stopped because it was much bulkier than it needed to be and ugly to boot. My LG's naked now and I feel fine.

I found this bumper for the E971 on a Canadian retailer's website. Seems like the E971 and the At&t E970 are the same size so it should fit:

Part number for this is CCH180AGCABK and seems to be manufactured directly by LG. Looks much slimmer than the Belkin version.

Yep your right wasn't paying close enough attention, site I was using to compare sizes showed the E970 at 5.15 x 2.82 x 0.33 (131 x 72 x 8 mm) and the E971 at 131.9 x 68.9 x 8.5 mm (5.15 X 2.82. X 0.33). I looked at it in inches got excited and then failed to see that it is actually a different size.

Keep us posted guys. The Belkin bumper from AT&T is decent but the ports are too small and you can't plug in the usb cable at the bottom to charge it.

I've seen mention of the bumper case in a few posts... is there anywhere to purchase it online? Or for that matter, anywhere to purchase it besides an AT&T store?
I haven't found it on Belkin's web site and the only other sites I've seen it on said it was "Out of Stock". I passed on buying it in the store because it was $35 and I know it isn't worth that much!

The Belkin case is a cheap piece of crap. I've already managed to crack the hard plastic shell taking it off to clean. And yes, it is very slippery.

I'm aware of the post prior to mine. On that post they linked to the Ballistic site, saying a case was coming for our phones. My post is of me finding the case already for sale on Ebay, and not on the Ballistic site. Just giving the heads up pretty much.

I think the Life Style case has interchangeable bumpers, but the Shell Gel (SG) Case has the bumpers integrated so it cannot be changed.
Not sure how I did not notice this before, but the Ballistic SG Case that I'm using seems to be squeezing the device too much. I think someone else pointed this out using another case. Because the device gets squeezed, the screen has faint blobs of blue. The issue can be further seen if just a bit more pressure is placed on the side where the bluish blob is noticed. I removed the polycarbonate shell, leaving only the rubber skin on the device and the bluish blob goes away. I think these polycarbonate cases that squeeze onto the device might be damaging the device as well.

I could be wrong but I don't think its magnetic.. the back of the nexus is glass I think the orb is just a rubberized surface that "grab's" the back of the phone.. i.e. just friction holds it on... I think!

Nobody has the orb yet, I think. It just now became available, with shipping withing a week. Plus the shipping time. I ordered one the first day it was available, but don't expect it before the end of next week.

I'm with you on this one, because I read it would be compatible with windows 8 and htc phones. And pictures look like the two circles on top are rubber. Just what it looks like to me
I have the touchstone charger and it has magnet in it.
from what I see it is held up 80% by friction, 20% by magnetic force.
Too bad the touchstone wont work on Droid DNA otherwise I think it would be a great charging dock.

Yes there is a magnet, yes it works with the phone in landscape.
However, it doesn't activate DreamScene or whatever it does with the N4 (also doesn't flip home screens to landscape like it does in car mode).

The dream mode is a 4.2 feature so I don't think anyone expected it to be on the DNA. And on stock there isn't landscape homedscreens. You'll either need a Rom or a 3rd party launcher for that.

I was afraid that cases for this phone was going to add bulk and change the look. Bought this case from mini suit from ebay is really nice and cheap price its very thin tpu that also has matte back to so the phone kinda looks original still. the mattes a little slippery though. Has glossy sides that cover up the red though. I usually always have my phones naked cuz i like them slim but the dna has a little give for a case. I never drop my phones but i dropped this one from my pocket face flat on tile with the case and thought the worst because the front screen lip is very very low (which i like) but i got lucky and it didnt shatter, sounded like it did though . I recomend this case for people that like minimal protection to keep thyre phones like new . Also has matte lnside so i feel more comfortable that it wont scratch the phone.

It's a little on the expensive side, but I'm curious about a couple of things if anyone has ever used it:
1) They say that it's metal + tempered glass, so does it impede signal at all?
2) It looks thicker than the original back cover, so I wonder if it can accommodate a slightly thicker battery; even if I have to shave the inside of the case a bit.
The back is like the iPhone, glass. I can't say about reception I have not used any aluminum cover/bumper.

Yeah I don't put cases on my phones, so that's a non-issue. Just looking at nice back cover that might fit a larger battery with a bit of... persuasion (read: sandpaper).

We the case arrived today and IMHO the quality is great and it adds the high end feel and look that I was looking for and does not affect the signal one bit. Now the cons are it does add some thickness to the phone. it basically levels out with the camera lens but slightly higher so it does not scratch. and second it you have fat fingers with no nails the s pen may bug you taking it out of phone. Ill post pics in am I left my s3 at work

Update guys. After using for a few hours around the house this case does affect the signal without I'm at -96 with it on I'm at -105 ...so ill keep watch on that

majority of the sellers selling these are from china or hong kong, during these 2-3 weeks, it's chinese new year, and it's hard to find a seller from the us or uk selling these, these product are too new, may be after a few months or so you may find a non chinese seller.

it's plastic inside so it can clip onto the phone.
There are about 7-8 colours available.
