The slow wake time is making me nuts. Anyone else?

I think I've seen that addressed on YouTube. Try disabling the ripple effect on the lockscreen and see if that helps you any.
Cool, id say that cut it in half.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Even with that disabled it still takes about 1.5 seconds for it to wake up.
Also under lockscreen, disable Pop-up Note on Lockscreen. I turn my animations to none or .5 under developer options as well, which speeds everything up a bit.

Disable popup note on lockscreen, and also in S Voice settings turn off the wake up commands. Problem solved.

same here. I have the popup note setting disabled, and also have S voice completely disabled. Still the delay.
I have everything disabled that's been mentioned, and I also have the lockscreen disabled, and there's still a delay for me as well.
Possible fix for the lag
Okay, so this lag has been driving me crazy, and I believe I found a way around it, but it has a big trade-off:
Unmount and remove your SD card, and the lag will go away.
Super weird, and hopefully someone can identify what it's looking for on the SD card. This has worked for me in a bit of quick testing, curious to see if it works for other people as well.
Would using a class 10 card help?

I have a class 10 SDXC card, and there's still a slight delay when pressing the power button to turn the display on, even with the lock screen completely disables.
I'm sure it's hardware. Our screens are relatively big and LCD tvs take a lot longer to fully turn on etc.
Maybe it is app related because my phone wakes up as soon as I hit either button. Even with lock screen and s-voice on. I have a 32gb class 10 sdcard as well. I only have a few gigs of data on the card though.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
My phone takes about 1 full second for the screen to turn on after I hit a button.
same here...pulled sd card and even ended up doing a full data wipe/factory reset...still have about 1 second delay....so frustrating
i actually believe its the TouchWiz launcher. i switched to ADW launcher and theres no lag. the lock screen ripple/spen ink blots are smooth. though if i reset my phone it loads TouchWiz first and makes me choose adw launcher again, and that first time i notice the lag. as soon as i pick adw launcher all the time..perfect.

So pretty often when I hold the home button there's like 0,5-2 seconds delay between the vibration and the actual multitask menu to come up. Not like my Galaxy S2 where it always came up immediately. Anyone having this too?

Yup
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
wow it was already a bummer than you had to hold the home button for app switcher but now there is another noticeable delay on top of that?!
I was 50/50 on whether to bite the bullet and preorder my very first android phone. but now I am for sure going to wait till I can test the phone in person at the at&t store.
The lag is caused by the S Voice. "S Voice -> Settings -> Launch S Voice" option needs to be be unchecked. Then the lag should be gone.

How is that connected to multitasking? Anyway... I haven't got this delay but the multitasking menu doesn't feel as smooth as it should... Only time I've experienced the new multitasking as smooth, is with cm9 on sgs2. Sgs2 stock ics is slow as ****

Well s voice is activated by double pressing home button. So the phone is waiting to see if you're going to press the second time to activate s voice, that might cause the lag. By turning it off, it should greatly reduce the lag.
I do not have this issue, but I found that sometimes, when the keyboard is open and you press and hold the home key to open task switcher, the keyboard closes, the task switcher appears for a split second and closes.
This doesn't happen all the time, but once it happens it'll keep happening every time you attempt to open the task switcher with the keyboard open, until you restart the phone.

I belive you are talking about the delay when quitting an app with the homebutton, there is no point in having the system wait for a second press if you still is holding the button. I have turned s Voice of because of the "return to home" lag, that does not help that my multitasking menu sometimes is not showing up as fast as the vibration...
You mean system recognize you want the multitasking menu up after you have hold down the button, gives you a vibration to confirm your command is confimred.. then waits a bit longer just to see if it was a mistake and you instead want s Voice to launch? Although it's even disabled?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Well it doesn't happen always.. And it certainly doesn't have to do anything with s-voice.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=robj.floating.notifications I ran into this the other day and thought wow this works really well espcially for mycolorscreen set up i have curretnly with no status bar or anyting was really liking, i believe this is to replicate the "holo" feature on cm rom's you guys tried this what do you guys think??
So ive seen this out for a while now, and thought it was some cheesey knockoff version of Holo. I said to myself why waste my time. Then seeing this thread, and being bored I just gave it a go. Boy am I glad I did, ive run AOSP roms with holo and its still nothing compared to this. This is like simple multitasking amd they can be hidden whenever! Much better!
Thanks for being the one to make me finally try this out!

Put myself in hot-reboot city last night. Enabled this in accessibility, rocking Beans 18 and AOSP lock screen - just started hot booting to the lock screen. Touch the lock - cycle repeats. Pulled the notification bar to get into settings and turned it off. It stopped.
I'm guessing AOSP lock screen + Xposed status bar + this checked in accessibility = no bueno.

The issue is AOSP lockscreen and Accessibility settings. If you're on standard TW lockscreen, there are no problems. Had the same issue with LightFlow previously.
The only thing I have a problem with, and its probably something that cant be fixed is when I get the bubble on the lock screen and click on it ot doesnt unlock. Any fix for this?

Good to know.
I assumed as much, but I love the AOSP lock screen. No lock/pattern AND music controls. Plus, the clock looks cleaner.
How well does this app work without accessibility turned on? Or does it? I flipped it on at about 2 am and messed around for about 15 mins before I started my trip to Las Bootsville, so I didn't get any notifications then.

Caused my phone to freeze up too. Didn't try this fix but will give it a try and see what happens. I hope it works.
Go into settings
tap menu button at the bottom -> Switch to tab view
Go to display tab, there is the "Front touch buttons". You can change the buttons and the color.
I could never find it in the list view.
This is useful on the verizon lg g2. Probably already tab view and easy to find on the other ones.

That seems like a setting you wouldn't want to mess with.
Just because a setting can be changed, doesn't mean it should be.

If anyone wants to get qslide out of the notification tray, I found a guide on androidcentral that worked.
To remove qslide from your notification tray...
First, pull down the notification tray, then in the quick setting at the top, scroll to the right and look for qslide. If you have it, toggle it and qslide will go away. If you don't have it in quick settings already, select edit and add it in. Then go back and toggle it, then return to settings and remove the qslide toggle. Qslide will be gone like it should be and we will have world peace!

Open dialer, and type 3845*#800# I always turn off thermal throttling that dims ur display when phone gets over 100 degrees. Do this by going to High temperature property off, and thermal deamon mitigation off, and enable them both...
