Is there is mod I can load onto my rooted EVO LTE that doesn't mute music when a text is received? It is annoying, I am listening to iHEARTRadio and receive a text and it mutes the radio and plays my text notification and then turns the audio for the app back on. I would like a mod where the notification ringtone will play in the background but does not mute what I am listening to. Does this exist? Either something to flash or a file to edit?
You're best bet is probably vibrate mode. Personally I just mute it. I'll see the notification eventually.

Pretty self explanatory; when I am listening to music with the TouchWiz Music Player app, any text messages I get through the TW SMS app will not mute the music or play the notification sound I have selected.
Any ideas on how to fix it? It's driving my partner nuts whenever she tries to send me a text when I'm listening to music.

Upon further investigation it appears as if the SMS app is designed to do this; it will only vibrate while the music player is going (even if vibrate is disabled in the app's settings), but it will not momentarily mute the music and play the notification sound...
This is not good. I want the text messaging app to interrupt my music in case I receive an important message that needs to be responded to.
I was using the AOSP Mms.apk before, which did interrupt the music, but the AOSP messaging app doesn't turn the screen on (and the Vibrant has no notification LEDs) making it hard to notice a text when working and the phone is sitting on the table next to me...
Doesn't seem like I can win... unless someone knows how to hack the TW Mms.apk into doing all four things (turning the screen on, playing a notification sound, vibrating and muting the music)...
When i get a email or SMS my handy ring all the time. Where can i change it that the Handy rings only one times.
Sry for my bad englisch

Are you using the standard notification sounds or a custom sound file? If you use a standard notification sound does it loop constantly (start over again and again)?
Yes, i use the standart notification sounds. And yes its loop constantly. Should i change the sound and than its OK?
Doesn't sound normal though. It might get fixed by just changing the sounds but that's not a solution, more a workaround.
I'm not sure if I'm acting handicapped here of if its the way Android was written, but my alerts for Text messages and Alarms are notoriously quiet.
I've ticked the box that says "Use incoming call volume for notifications" and then I set the incoming call volume to max. Then I unticked the volume and set each separate volume to max.
Either way, the notification volume is sooo silent that I literally have to look for the green flashing light on my phone to see if I even got a text.
And I almost missed the alarm this morning if I hadn't left vibrate on.

The x10 volume is really low sound. Its one of the only phones I have had that has such low volume. My sisters messaging phone lowest volume is louder than the x10 loudest. So you aren't the only one with the low volume complaint.

But, why is it specifically the notification volume? The incoming call volume is just fine.

I myself had to create my own ringtone with an app called ringdroid from the market from mp3 songs. The sound quality is better and louder.

Hello all,
Searched for this and didn't quite see anything about it. I'm running UnNamed 1.2.0 and have noticed that all notifications volume except the ringer drops to very low levels out of nowhere and for no apparent reason. I check the volume in settings and all are at max. Sometimes it seems this is triggered by a text message... The only way I can restore volume is to "clear memory" in running applications. Wondering if anyone has experienced this and could shed some light as to what can cause this.
Thanks!
What audio player do you use? I noticed that if in poweramp, I didn't have Pause on notifications enabled, the notification volume was much lower.
Using the stock music app and google music. Checked for settings but can't find what you refered to.

Text Message
Hi guys,
I too have the text message problem when ever i browse or send or receive the text message in my phone i get bell type of sound apar from notification sound. I think there is a problem in text message as it was modified.
Turns out is not the volume that drops but somehow the sound comes out of the ear speaker instead of the speaker in the back of the phone. Maybe someone can post this in the development section?

Does anyone else have the problem that if you have a text tone, email tone & phone ringtone, then try and Mute or put in Vibrate mode the S3, it only mutes the ringtone, both text messages and emails are still heard. Just found that out while in a meeting
Never experienced this before, any ideas?

No, this doesn't happen to me.. if I put the phone on silent everything goes silent.
Then if you open the volume control settings you can see that the icon for notification is crossed out to indicate silent.
Are you on a custom ROM? And how are you enabling silent mode?

I'm on Vodafone stock rom, I use the notification menu and selected Mute or Vibrate and text/email tones come through. I've even turned off the sound using the volume buttons, but these tones are still coming through.
When you go to volume settings do you are the icons crossed out when in silent mode?

I get either the icon mute or icon vibrate mode set in the notification bar area. I think I may end up trying a full reset and installing apps one at a time just in case one is conflicting.
One thing I have noticed is that if I use the volume rocker and turn it to mute, if you click the settings on the right of it, it shows all 3 volume settings and I think this is where it's not muting the other notifications
