[Q] CM9.1 by Scritch V5 WLAN - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
I flashed the CM9.1 by scritch (v5) and I'm trying to activate WLAN, but there just stands that it gets activated and nothing happens.
Do I have to flash some wifi modules or something like that?

no wifi module needed. try entering the wifi network manually.

hm.. the button to add a network manually is deactivated. I think it will get activated if the wlan is turned on, but I can't turn it on.
Just wanted to test this cm, but I'll need my smartphone, think I flash cm7.2 again, if there is no solution for the wlan problem.

What kind of security is your wifi modem is having? is it wps smthng lk that? Did you tried with different wifi hotspots?
it doesnt have any security, i disable it
The thing is that it doesn even recognize that there is a wifi signal, it just turn off automatically before without detecting any wifi signal, i tried at work and the same thing happened
(sorry if i misspelled a lot of words jejeje)
try to flash another ROM and see if it works...

i restored the backup i made with cwm and everything works fine now (touch x-power rom), and if i reinstall check rom the wifi goes out again, it seems it deletes something that leaves me with no wifi mac adress (i searched in about the phone, turning on and of wifi and every time it said not available)
Bizarre...
im getting the same thing, did anyone find a solution?
had this same exact issue.. it is a hardware problem.. so changing rom, kernel or fw wont help you at all... only solution is going to samsung service center.. my problem was solved in 3 days..so many s2 users have this problem..
take a look at these threads...

There are a lot of problems with KK5 and wifi. If you update Busybox it borks it completely. I can't connect to my 5Ghz home wifi but the 2.4 Ghz works fine. I also can't connect to some wifi that uses WEP. All works fine with previous builds. I have seen threads that suggest replacing the wpa_suplicant file from Android 2.3.5 fixes the problem.

[Q] wifi problems after rom flashing

Yesterday, after I flashed stock ICS rom through odin, I noticed that i can't connect to any kind of wifi connection, even wifi sharing from other devices! it says just "obtaining ip address" and nothing. stuck like that forever. What?

My problem was unable to turn on wifi, wifi stuck at the stage of turning on.... and forever like that cant off and on.
Most probably is hardware problem coz i have tried many ways to solve including flash back to stock rom, change modem, change kernel and etc.
good luck for you, hope you are not the same problem with me.

Wifi is kernel-related.
So, try to flash another kernel to test.
Or if you don't want to flash another kernel, check in menu Settings > wifi > (menu button) Advanced > Use static ip.
Try to enabled and connect.
Then disable and try to connect.
If that does not help, try to wipe cache (and Dalvik cache) in recovery mode.
Press Volume UP + Home + Power buttons as long as the recovery menu appears, then select wipe cache and reboot the phone.
P.S.: Check the configuration of your wifi router / WLAN access point, that is allows your phone to connect.
ok so i did everything again just to be sure and... my mistake! the problem starts not after the rom flashing but after cf root! have i done something wrong maybe?
I would say look for a custom rom that is already pre-rooted so then it should have all bugs to do with wifi removed.
I used to have a problem with the wifi myself which caused problems when turning it into a wireless hot spot and then wouldn't turn back off again.
But now im on the Custom Rom I am having no problems with wifi at all.
Hope this helps.

Actually, I would say try a different kernel. CF-root is a kernel. Wifi drivers are in the kernel. Ergo... ?
Wifi is kernel related issue
try changing your kernel
you mite wanna chk dis

Im having the same problem here, any luck so far?
may have something to do with the root. my phone had this issues once. just flash your phone with the correct rom and do NOT root it again as it may have something to do with the root itself. or just something got messed up during the rooting process

Wifi stopped working

Hey guys,
I have a serious problem with my wlan connection. Yesterday I tried to install a zip, so that the camera should work.
After I installed this file, and reboot my Touchpad, I can´t connect to the Internet.
I even can´t turn the wlan on, in the settings the Button to turn it on is dark and when I try to turn it on nothing happen, no error message or stuff like that.
Does anybody have some similar problem?
Or can you tell me how to solve this problem?
Thanks

Try toggling bluetooth first, and then WiFi. I get that sometimes, and that's what usually solves it for me.

Thanks for the hint, but when I try this, I am able to move the slide bar, so it seems I can turn on the wlan, but after a few seconds the button is dark again and nothing more happens.
Any other suggestions?

Does this help at all? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1937109.
have you tried running busybox ifconfig or
'busybox ifconfig wlan0 up' in a terminal emulator on the touchpad?
there is a wifi fix zip, perhaps you can try that, i don't know if ti's for this kind of problem.
Did you flash that zip over his camera build or some other ROM?
If you flashed it over any other ROM than Dorregary's that is why its broken, because it includes a new kernel which is not compatible with your current WiFi drivers.
If you did indeed flash it over another ROM you should now flash the GamerZ kernel which will get your wifi working again.

You are right, i flashed it over another ROM.
I have tried to install the GamerZ kernel, but my WiFi is still not working (the same issue).
Another idea?
But I think it seems, that I have crashed my WiFi driver. Is there an opportunity to re-install it?
Thank´s a lot for your efforts!
Just flash a complete ROM package and wipe caches. You'll be back in line!

Foxhound 1.8, Siyah Kernel: Wifi Problems

I flashed the ROM yesterday and chose the Siyah kernel while installing.
I read up a lot and many people recommend Siyah. Everything works fine, except the wifi will sometimes just not be working. If I toggle it, it tries to connect and asks for password. As soon as I enter the password, it connects and immediately disconnects and asks for password again. The password box has (unchanged) written in it and the dialogue box says I entered the wrong password. I have tried it over and over, so it is definitely not a mistake in the password.
(Wifi works fine on my laptop)
I read up today morning and someone said that wifi issues can be kernel related. My priority in kernels are basically battery life, smooth performance and great audio (if its a function of the kernel) and everything else that works should work normally. So, if the solution is flashing a different kernel, could someone recommend one?

Could you suggest which stweaks I should try?
It wouldn't connect to the two connections I had access to. If the issue stays, I'll move to Perseus.

Read a little more and it seems the problem is with android 4.1.2 to begin with. Of course I could be wrong, I'm reading from too many random sources.

Did you turn on your Wi-fi (sounds stupid, but sometimes happens)
Have you tried these things below:
Restart your router
Restart your phone
That's the only things I can think of to fix your problem
Scanned, with catlog and found some errors, anyone can tell what is about?
And also who can help me with a backup of folder wifi from data/misc/wifi on 4.1.2 stock rom?
