[Q] Neo V various problems need answers - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Currently using Xthilinac mod the build 14 sp1, for my neo v all installed properly. Some questions. How to i import the older keyboard (in build 13), also how can i change the drawer grin space and height, how i change the battery icon again back to build 13.Also when applying patch for neo v, it deletes the CWM and i need to install it again. One last question. As i want to develop such things in the future, is there a possibility to make a solid update for build 14, patch for neo v, and the service pack 1?

for keyboard..replace textinput-tng.apk of B14 with B13..in System/app..set permissions and reboot if required..

Ok thank you a lot. 1 problem solved...
Still 4 problems remain.
1st) drawer grin space and height. In build 13 it was a 5x4 icons and now only 4x4 and there is no option to change that, i searced everywhere.
2nd) battery icons again back to build 13
3rd) When i go to options in power menu, i can only check reboot and not boot into cwm, although i have cwm installed (i used x-parts, also in build 13 and worked fine.)
4th) Can i make a solit install with build 14, patch for neo v and service pack 1 without flashing 3 times. I want only one. If it possible.
Thanks in advance!

1st) Use homecustomizer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1736702&highlight=home+customizer
2nd) SystemUI.apk..keep a backup before replacing..
3rd) dont know bout that cause im not on Pureness..it has something to do with the framework i think..but you have the option to boot into CWM in xParts right and you can also choose reboot option in quickpanel..
4th) No idea. If there was a way, dont you think ThilinaC would have done it already..jus saying..
5th)Use the Thanks button instead

Where's the THX to LW bro

First of all thanks again. However when you said that ThiliniC would have done, he wouldn't because he created this rom not only for neo v but some other ass well. I need to know if it possible to create one update again. As fas as the reboot into recovery is concerned, i just enter when the blue light comes up in sony logo, so it is not a serious problem
However if someone can help plz let me know...

So i have only 2 probrlems right now which are not so serious...
1st) How to make a single update (in other words combine the rom+patch for neo v+update sp1)
2nd) How to reenable the reboot to cwm command into power menu.
Thank oyu in advance

was it to discourage him to stop working?... Isn't that easier that we don't like something then we just move on?
I think OP is in learning phase... Everyone starts with those little mods and gradually gets better and makes new inventions... None is born developer...
Do you even realize that he might have spent hours of trial and error ?...
During this time he might have flashed the ROM atleast 10 times to make sure it looks good and attractive so that users can enjoy a new thing...
All washed by your unthankful comment more like a slap...

YOu can flash Kernels by flash tools ..
In forum there is already a topic about flashing kernel. But i say fastly. Phone - settings - Applications - Developing - USB Debugging active then
Download flash tools - open it - connect your phone by usb - Click flash - fastboot mode - left upside have restart Fastboot mode and then see the phone light get blue and click flash kernel and choose the kernel you donwload and when you see flashed it s ok ...

[DISCUSSION] The Alliance roms/kernel, codename & iScream

Hye guys..
I open a new thread here as a discussion/question/how/what/which/why/when thread for our roms/kernel.
The main target are:
- no need to open new thread (keep this forum clean of unwanted/unness
- for those who not yet reached 10 posts
- a better replacement of PM, i received a lot, which some i may forgot/missed to replied (sorry..)
- what else.. still thinking..
Currently supported roms/kernel:
KERNEL - The Alliance kernel mod for ICS (Old Night-Elf Kernel Mod)
ROM - codename 7
ROM - I-Scream build 11
All help from other user are very much appreciated. For those who are being helped, don't forget to thanks.
Just three simple rules:
1) Please give info of which rom/kernel that u are using
example:
[ROM]codename 7
(then here you write your issue)
2) Follow rule number 1
3) Thanks those who help you

[ROM] Codename_07
I didn't select to install fonts while installing the ROM because i didn't know the fonts will change. I liked the fonts in codename_06. I found three fonts in the package - Clockopia, DroidSans and DroidSans-Bold.
Is anyone of these the font used in codename_06? If yes which one is it and how do i install it?
These are the roboto version of the fonts, as used in the old Xperia S add on, to use them copy to /system/fonts replacing the ones that are there, you can use es file manager, set permissions to rw,r,r and reboot

Just reporting after the first 30 hours of usage...
Super smooth, awesome animations, no lag.
Couple of pointers :
The transparency of the notification background makes it difficult to read black letters when using black wallpaper
I encountered some weird behaviour once when I tried to set a new wallpaper, the screen went black and flickered, hitting the home button took me out of the gallery but when I went to try again the same thing happened.
That's it for now.
Ps, would it be possible to manually set the buttons in the quick panel; or somehow add selection for 3g/2g ?
Many many thanks for everything!

[Themes] DefaultThemesCustomizer for SONY ICS

DefaultThemesCustomizer by Adrian DC : http://arcsgatebyadriandc.comze.com/ics_defaultthemescustomizer.html
The application will allow you to set your own wallpaper on each default color schemes of the SONY ICS ROM,
just by simple choices and a single Wallpaper.png to change !
The script handles the images creation and building, there's nothing to worry about.
Provided apks are from the official 4.0.4, but you can replace them by 4.0.3 apks if you want to use the application with this version of ICS.
Now even works for SONY GB 2.3.4 !
Also provided by default is my own Bokeh-6-4 Wallpaper, which I do use in most of my previews.
Bye !
----------
If you like my work, don't forget to press the :good: Thanks button ! Thanks you ^^
He he he, why dont you wait posting until ready?
I know, but since I spent the last 4 + 4 hours working on it,
and that I finalised the whole pack a few minutes ago,
I needed the thread link to add a shortcut to it in the pack.
Just a few big minutes, don't worry
But if you want to test it, contact me by PM ^^
Looking forward to it!

That's it, you can test it !
I'm waiting for feedbacks, as you all know,
there's always something that can be weird on Windows..
But it should be good, works fine on the two PCs I could test it on,
and with some users who tested it for me before release.
'night everyone !
But I want to use it with Gingerbread 2.3.4
Can not?
Send me both apks by PM, I'll make sure you can. Bye!

Finally when I open the created theme, no changes are made.
I have no idea whether error is because of my operating system or because of program error.

That's it, done ! Should work on both ICS and GB 2.3.4 !
(Does work on my ICS 4.0.4, please confirm GB).
I can only change one theme of the defaultthemes.apk...???
not all 7 of them...
It would be awsome if I could change all seven themes....
:good::good:
Then it already is awesome xD !
At the end, you can choose to customize an other color or exit the software.
Bye !
(News, sorry for double posting..)
A whole new version is online, based on my current development of HomeCustomizer which might be released soon.
Much for efficient, more secure and with an automatic creation of flashable zip in addition to the AndroidFilesInstaller files.
Bye !

Hi !
My DefaultThemesCustomizer application doesn't require root since the new version 7.
Indeed, since I now also build a flashable zip to install the files,
in addition to my original AndroidFilesInstaller files,
you now get a Flashable zip to Install the apk and an other one to restore
the original files you just modded !
But if like me you prefer to use my AndroidFilesInstaller, then yes, you need root.
The application should work with every ICS phone from the Xperia 2011 serie,
but so far, I can only assure the Arc S and the Arc are working fine with it,
Ray, Neo/Neo V and others are still to be confirmed.
Bye !
ADC
No problem.
Nonono don't rename the zip, they are build as they have to be ^^
Flashable zip are to be installed from the CWM Recovery.
And now that I think of it... You should need root to install CWM on the ROM...
Or if you did unlock your bootloader, which would seam unprobable here,
you could use the normal CWM without root...
Anyways, root is so much better than normal.. The choice is yours
EDIT : You should try installing the apks without AndroidFilesInstaller, just by installing them normally.
Since they are system apps, I'm not sure you'll be able to install them that way, but who knows?
If you look closer to the modded files, you'll see that you get :
- FlashableZip[ThemesCustomized] > Flashable zip to install new Themes
- FlashableZip[ThemesOriginal] > Flashable zip with original Themes
- system~app[DefaultThemes] > Files to install with my AndroidFilesInstaller.sh
This last one contains the very apk that you just modded,
so try to install them manually..
If it doesn't work, think about rooting.. It's much better afterward ^^.
vassil_bk said:
Thank you! Unfortunately this was the first thing I tried and it didn't work. It gave me: "Application not installed." and only the "OK" button.
Thank you again for your help! It is getting obvious that I should consider rooting the device if I want to change these things...
Still I don't understand why Sony don't give this opportunity through the settings menu but lock some predefined (mostly a lot ugly) themes instead...

Yep, root might be the solution to many problems ;D
Ahah yeah, if the phone brands did give us full design control and choices,
things would be much more easy for users..
Hmm i dont know if im doing something wrong here... but
Okay so I get to the part where it ask to choose the following defaults colors, It opens a window with the folders so I choose that wallpaper and try to assign it to number 1, click enter and it just loops. Opens another window with the samething...confused here.
I feel like im doing this part wrong.
Will check that asap, I'll let you know.
Envoyé depuis mon Xperia Arc S.
EDIT : I tried it, it's working just fine..
By assigning, what do you exactly mean...?
The only thing you have to do is to change the wallpaper
if you want to, but it has to keep the same name,
so as the mask png which also is needed and can be changed.
Then just choose the color by the number and press enter.
If you try to rename the pngs, which isn't said to be done anywhere,
the securities I've put in the script will make the request loop
until you fix the errors and have propre pngs in place.
Hope it helped.
Bye!

[ROM][ICS]MIUIv4 2.7.13 for Locked Bootloader (Not OTA Update)

MIUIv4 for Un/Locked Bootloader
Hi Guys.. This rom was made for both Unlocked and Locked bootloader.
UPDATE!! MIUIv4 2.7.13 - Changelog
"This is not OTA update!! " Use Titanium Backup or MIUI backup to backup and restore your apps (for those who come from 2.6.29)
Old Version:
Code:
MIUI v4 build 2.6.29 (Stable Version) - [URL="http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?i83cldnerc1c8a5"][I][COLOR="Red"]here[/COLOR][/I][/URL]
**extract using 7zip and then put in sdcard/clockworkmod/backup**
!!!!THIS IS NOT FLASHABLE ZIP!!!!
How to install it??
1. You have to be in ICS firmware.. .562 or .431 will doing good.
2. Rooted and CWM Installed (Don't ask me how ) (if you have unlocked your bootloader just flash sirkay's kernel or any ICS stock kernel with cwm included)
3. Boot into Recovery, do Full Wipe
4. Tap into "Backup & Restore" choose restore and restore the backed up rom.
5. Wait till it done.
6. Reboot System and enjoy MIUI on your Locked Bootloader
How to get rooted??
Check LBE Guard app and tap manage root permission>enable root permission
Screenshot see attachment.. Special thanks to xparanoidx
Thanks to MIUIandroid(for providing wonderful miui rom) and jjdoctor (for the awesome guides).
***I'm not a developer so don't ask me how to fix bugs***
ADD-ON(S)
Xperia S ICS Keyboard: here -- Just flash this via CWM

I install it and work perfect.. just change for JJ rom and you will find this ROM is so laggy but, so eye candy,,, everything work well!.. SS is the same as MIUI SS in the others thread.. I hope it will contiuned to update with the latest MIUI ROM.
happy flashing
At first, thanks that more and more devs make roms for locked bootloaders
Just few questions:
Where is the original version? Where can I see the screenshots?
Is it rooted?
After restore cwm must install again?
I'm on JJ Hybrid 3.1 with locked bootloader.

I use original file from here and ported myself. For screenshot you could see from iriijo's or other miuiv4 threads, it's basically same.
Yes, it is rooted. Check the LBE Guard app and tap manage root permission and enable root.
I don't know about reinstalling cwm, but i suppose it's same with other locked bootloader rom.
Sorry, i'm at work, i can't test it.
Does anybody have installed it yet?
I can't do it actually, i'm not at home...
OK I've just flashed it this afternoon on top of a nearly stock rooted ICS4.0.4 install. SO FAR, everything I've tested seems to work... the only issues I've had is learning to use MIUI ;-)
I'm keeping my old backup in case I want to go back, but so far looks good - only FC I have had was Google Account Manager when I ignored a permissions request but a quick reboot soon fixed that....
SO far, so good
Well, installed it, works good ! Thanks !
Maybe I should give it a try lol.
I try this.... I just install it..
working perfectly for me so far, even FM radio works
Downloading right now. Honestly, JJ's Hybrid 3.1 is sweet, but let's give a try on this one, 'cause MIUI is great.
Please, can someone post some screenshots?

I will be the hero *o* i'm going to test this rom and tomorrow y put my conclusion and if it works for me i'll put screenshot c:
Thanks for your time to do the work n,n we need more rom's for bl locked :fingers-crossed:
Edit: ok i install it & run perfectly now as i promise here are the screenshot's, i notice a difference and it come's from camera i don't know why but... i see camera better than anyone it doesn't show noise and the quality is amazing. anyway my respects to miui creators but i love JJ's hybryd rom.
Wow, I have been testing this ROM for the last 15 hours and no problems at all. It runs smooth, great, and fast. I only got a problem with circle lockscreen, some delaying. But nothing else in the ROM was wrong.
But the most shocking thing is that the consumption of battery while I was sleeping (8 hours of sleep time) was... 0%!!
With stock and other ROMs, battery drained 5 to 10%, but not with MIUI!
If everything goes OK, I think I'll stick with MIUI for a while.
I'll leave some more screenshots:

Nope. Xperia plus v10 is being made right now This is a whole NEW ROM which is so light! Has no major amazing features. Its just ready for you guys to start customizing with all your mods and add-ons!
Did you read my mind? These past few days I've been thinking how nice it would be if a developer here could cook up a completely stripped down, clean and mean GB ROM. And here you are. Thank you Apmartin. I'll be installing it and will give feedback.
PS Can I still get widgets from other external apps to place on my home screen?

Please read the description. This ROM is staying light with no major add-ons. Search the arc forums for both of those and you will find flashable zips.

Feedback
I had some problems installing Xperia Slim and cannot use it, even before getting out of the starting gate. The problem seem to center around superuser permission. But here are my experiences.
1. You can't use Lupus GB. This will result in bootloops. Changed to Night Elf v10 Experimental (couldn't find v 10.1 Experimental) and the phone booted off just fine.
2. The lightness and speed of the ROM was just great. The feel of this ROM is the best of any other ROM I've tried. This is exactly the kind of ROM I want.
3. Tried to update the Supeuser binary. But it kept telling me that "Superuser was denied superuser permission" no matter how many times I tried. Installed SuperSU through CWM (this automatically removes Superuser). But when I tried to enter SuperSU the app froze. I tried this many times. Did a full wipe and installed Xperia Slim again. After the settling in period I went into Settings -> Applications and Force Closed Superuser and Cleared Data. Rebooted. Now I could update the binary.
4. Before installing all my usual apps directly from the Play Store I will always install Link2SD first. I have a 1GB Ext4 partition for it. All my apps, when installed, will roughly take up over 600MB. But Link2SD could not mount the script saying that "Root access was denied", again and again. So I uninstalled Link2SD and installed S2E. But when I checked the storage status in S2E I found that the Ext4 partition could not be mounted. Maybe it cannot recognize Ext4 partitions.
5. There was nothing else I could do. So I restored a nandroid backup I made before installing Xperia Slim.
I really like the feel of this ROM and would like to be able to use it. But I need to get Link2SD working first. Please help. :crying:

Try this:
Format everything (data.system.cache.valvik)
Flash ROM > Patch > Libs
Reboot
Check root status
If root fails flash this:
http://downloads.noshufou.netdna-cdn.com/superuser/Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip
That will fix root I will try to fix this in v1.1 - I can't help bugs because my phone is broken so its very hard to test.

I already flashed BB 77 through Flashtool before installing Xperia Slim. I think the ROM might have a problem recognizing Ext 4 partitions. When you release v1.1 could you just check if Link2SD will work. Thank you.
This is the ROM I've been hoping for. I'd gladly be your tester if you don't have a Neo V. Let me know.
Does it have xloud and bavaria engine?
And what about the free space and ram.
Thanks for the pure GB, I have enough of cm

Thank you. That was quick. Downloading now. Is there a Neo V patch? Or, v2 does not need one?
Will wait for your advice before installing.
EDIT
Just read your OP again and noticed there is an Aroma Installer. Guess I can choose Neo V from there. Will install now and let you know how it goes. Thanks again.
