I used it on XP 32 bit and worked fine also!

i dont think it works on win7 64 bit yet cus i cant use it

I'm.on windows 8 .don't work yet

It has to be 32 bit to work. I am 99% sure it will work on Vista 32bit since it works on Win 7 and Win XP 32 bit. Vista was the stepping stone between the two so it will work. Definitely a no go on 64 bit because of the driver issues.

I just used dirty racun on windows 7 64 bit today. I am s-off, unlocked bootloader, and running meanrom now!

Nope. I was a little nervous because I read somewhere 64 bit wasnt tested but I couldn't remember if it was lazy panda or dirty racun but everything went smooth. I just followed step by step what it said to do and didn't run into any problems.
I right clicked any exe and ran as admin but don't know if that matters

For those of us in the stone age - confirmation that Dirty Racun S-off for WinXP 32 bit successfully achieved S-OFF as well

Successful for me using Win7 64bit. I have hboot 1.15. I ran it 2 or 3 days ago. Not a single issue and didn't have to do anything manually!! All went perfectly smooth!! Afterwards, I updated radio and then flashed MeanRom 6.4. Been running perfect for days now, not an issue with anything at all!!
If you want, since Win7 64 bit isn't officially supported, you can simply burn a LiveCD of Ubuntu and run it on your 64bit system. I had done this and booted in to it to confirm that it was working fine, and I'd also downloaded all needed files to my XP 32bit system(as I'd seen many others state that this system worked for them, even though it's also unsupported). In the end though, I just decided to try it on Win7. I'm glad that I did, but can't say this will work for anyone else, as it isn't supported by the devs, but have seen others also state that DirtyRacun worked for them on Win7 64bit. Whatever you decide, do so at your own risk, and know that the devs will NOT help you of you're using an unsupported system!

Just to add another, I used it yesterday on Vista 32bit and I'm now s-off running CM10. As a word of advice, remember to disable antivirus. I forgot to and I got to the point where you run the (.bat, .exe, I forget which it was), ran that a few times and it wasn't working. Once I disabled the antivirus it worked just fine.

ill see if i can find a vista trial .. but i tried it with my windows xp machine and it didnt work ..

I'm sure you can find a Vista ISO online. Once installed you have 30 days to activate and you don't need to enter a code during install. It's a lot of work though install an OS just to root your phone. You should look around and see if you know someone with a 32 bit OS, that's what I did since my Vista and 7 machines are both x64.

Windows commands. Linux uses sudo ./ while windows does not. Don't need to chmod in Windows either. Run the commands using Windows without the Linux bit.

I've used wubi on a dual boot machine which you can also run from a USB flash drive, it's the easiest Linux installation, just google wubi and feel free to pm me if you need help with the commands, I've got my replacement yesterday and s-off right away!
link to wubi: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/windows-installer
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/windows-installer
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WubiGuide
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/try-ubuntu-before-you-install
You need to unlock and install twrp to start dirty Racun, if you know how to use CMD in windows you can use terminal in wubi/Linux it's pretty much the same you just have to read the post on unlimited.io, download whatever files you need, once you feel comfortable just copy and paste the commands and be patient, if you follow the instructions o the dot you shouldn't have any problems, good luck!

[Q] S-Off On Mac

Hi,
Ive been meaning to S-Off my HTC ReZound in order to RUU back to Stock and hopefully get a replacement phone due to some issues. I only have a Macbook Pro but I do have Parallel 7 installed running Windows 8 Release Preview. I also have the necessary Fastboot and ABD files to HTCdev unlock and run commands. I just want to know how I can go about S-Off-ing my device, if possible, on my Mac
The follow is what my phone is currently at/running. Some detailed instructions on how to would be much appreciated. Thanks

Yea I read all that, wondering which download/rom to use and if I'm on a correct firmware..
Looks like you're on ICS with 2.21 HBOOT. Get the ICS version...
This is an older thread but I'm reviving it as a mac user. I just recently got my (very old) original Intel imac back from my inlaws as they upgraded to a refurbished mac. The screen is going, and it can't be upgraded anymore to a higher OS as is not a Core Duo 2 chip. Anyway, as I don't have space to partition my Mac Air (yes I'm a Mac fanboy, but iphone hater) I used to have bootcamp on the old iMac and used to run windows XP on it. Back then I was first transitioning to Mac, so I wasn't going cold turkey. I'm windows free and have been for a while. Long story....getting to the point here, if I can find my old XP disc, I can reinstall Windows on it. Is it possible to S-off with Unlimited's Juopunutbear with XP? Again, I've been out of the Windows game for a while, so give me slap if I sound silly. I'm about ready to get this thing S-off and do the ROM thing again (Darn I miss the ease of my Dinc). My phone crapped out the other day and I was stuck on a white HTC screen, so I had to relock and run the global RUU again. But I'd like to try roms on the stock firmware, and with the most recent release, I'm sure some Roms might be built from that too.
Sugarhill, I may have missed it but was your rezound previously s-off? I only ask because you do not have to re s-off ever if your rez was s-off before. Unless you flashed a non engineering bootloader and ran the lock command from fastboot.

No Stang, I was never S-off on my Rezound. I'm a Mac only household, and my work computer (windows...and I barely use it) cannot download or install stuff without administrator privileges so I've never been able to S-off. I'd like to, and with the reaquisition of my old iMac, it has been previously licensed to run my copy of Windows XP on it through apple's bootcamp program.
I miss my dinc and getting your rooted versions of updates for it.

I know you're trying to help me, but I'm just not getting it. Still no idea what you're saying. Just read an article about somebody dual booting Ubuntu 12.04 on an original intel imac just fine. So I'm going to try that this weekend, and see if I can't finally get this thing S-off. I used to try Roms left and right on my Dinc. While I use my phone now more than ever during the day than I did back then, I won't be able to change quite so often, but some of the Roms I've looked into seem pretty awesome.

do you have htc sync installed? it seems that you need to have this installed to have the phone recognized for fastboot it happened to me and I have used dirty racun twice as I had my evo replaced twice this month, install it and then try to run the fast boot commands, good luck!
Mac problem?
Could the problem is that I'm running Ubuntu from my MAC? See this post:
Can't post the link, but found this on androidforums:
That's based on HTCdev unlock, so as mentioned, use MyBackup Pro and SMS Backup+ to save what you may, that unlock will do a factory data reset, all user data and apps will go away.
That will give you full root, with an s-on unlocked bootloader.
The option to get a s-off unlocked bootloader is only open to you if you have a Windows platform to run the Dirty Racun tool - either in Windows mode or from a Live CD using Ubuntu. (This has to do with how the Mac platform maps access to the usb ports, the Unlimited.IO team's stuff doesn't support it.)
If you do have a PC and want to try Dirty Racun, go here -

No cell signal

I'm getting no voice nor data signal except for roaming. Wiping the ROM and flashing a different one (I tried CM9, currently on CM10.1) didn't help. I fear for the worst, because RUU-ing isn't an option since Fastboot isn't working for me at all so I can't re-lock. Anyone have any ideas?
edit: What I did: made a Ubuntu live USB drive. Fastboot worked on Ubuntu so I was able to RUU. RUU fixed my problem.

Verizon. Basically with Fastboot, Windows says "USB device not recognized", and device manager says "Device enumeration failed". Multiple OS installs, multiple USB ports, multiple computers. From what I can tell, Fastboot ain't gonna work anymore. I'm currently on Windows 8.1 with Koush's universal drivers installed, and using the Android SDK that came with Android Studio. Going to try the latest Sense 3.6 stock ROM and see what happens.

edit: odd, Speedtest.net is showing that I'm on LTE (Verizon being the only one in the US with 700Mhz LTE) and my external IP address is in 70.0.0.0/8 which is a Verizon-owned address space. Maybe I am on Verizon but it just thinks it's roaming.
Try S-Off and RUU. You can on AOSP as long as you RUU right after (do not put PH98 RUU on SD card until after S-Off, I had to reformaty SD card).
I just recently ran JB 0.1 windows version while on 2.28 Hboot and Infection (CM10.1 based ROM). My boot partition went wonky, but I was able to downgrade RUU ad it fixed everything. With S-Off you have no worry about needing to do fastboot.

Moonshine works fine on windows 8 with 2.07 just make sure adb/fastboot are up and running properly (open sdk manager and take any updates) factory reset from within stock Rom. then dl moonshine, unzip it (right click extract all) then run distiller from within the extracted folder.

Also yes disable any antivirus you currently have running. thatll cause problems with distiller. Make sure you recheck usb debugging after factory reseting. And you know how to make sure adb/fastboot are running properly I assume? Also HTCsync needs to be UNINSTALLED from your comp.. I use a Linux box, but you could do the same thing I did: spin up a Windows VM and S-Off with firewater from there. I used VMware Workstation 10 (I think it's VMware fusion for Mac) but you should be able to mount your phone to the Windows VM using Virtualbox on Mac and achieve S-Off also. Additional note: I used Windows 7 as my VM, but I believe it's known to work on Win8 & 8.1.
PS-if you're a college student (or know one) with a valid .edu email, sign up/login to Dreamspark and you should be able to get Windows 7 free.

Yeah, I used a VM for the all-in-one toolkit and proceeded with firewater from there and advised a VM since the OP alluded to Windows-specific commands.
