Manually save APN's in ICS/JB Rom - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have tried to manually put my carriers APN in on various ICS/JB roms but for some reason when I click 'save'... it doesn't (save).
When I am using CM7 my APN's are there automatically but in the ICS/JB roms we have here it does not put them in automatically and so , although I have phone/text I do not have any data to access the web.
any suggestions?

anyone?

The LPB kernel wipes your apn's.
Go to your carrier's website, or call them, and ask for your apn.
Settings > Wireless and Networks > Mobile Networks > APN
Some people use HiAPN (Market App) as well.

[Q] Porting a couple of roms from other carriers apn problems

I managed to get together a couple of roms, but I'm guessing the apn configuration is set to a different carrier. I need some help with configuring the apn setting to get Internet and sms/mms fully working. What files do I need to edit within the rom?

Help no APN with Paranoid Rom

Hi!
first of all Sry for my bad english.
I have a Big Problem with the Paranoid Rom and a second Rom (Dragon ICS v3.3.2) i cant send mms/sms or can use the browser because there are no APN
with root explorer i look in system/etc/apns-conf.xml and there are the Apn's for my carrier.
Settings->Dunno->APN->New then create a new APN accourding to your service provider also doesn't work.
So i dont have any idea whats wrong
Hope someone can help me.
Tried to reboot after a flashing rom? Or restore the apn? The problem is on both rom or only at once?

There is a work around
You have to click on restore to default and then after the process compleates
restart you phone.
This will get back your GPRS conectivity.

Hello.
Had the same problem last night.
Spend the evening restoring my APN config.
After many reboot, recovery/wipe, etc... the fastest seems to backup your appz, wipe everything you can. rebbot, erase whatever apn you have, check online what they should be (one APN for internet settings, one for MMS settings) and re create them manually. I found 3 different config over the net for my operator. I tried each one and tested both internet and mms each time till I found the right one. Then on ly Restore your appz.
It worked for me. On a boring and painfully evening...
good luck
@Floydfire its on both Roms, reboot afkter flash doesn't work
Restore Apn never completes (wait for over 1h) Will try it later whenn its full loaded again because im on other ROM.
@delestai whenn i erase all apn and insert only from my carrier i cant use the phone anymore because im many times on travel so i need roaming and for this i need the apn from many carriers.
Edit: apn restore works this time all apn set correct.
Internet works.
But when i try to send a sms a error Text Pop up and the umts/3g net goes down
So tryed some other modems none of them works.
Some more tips solusions or anything?
so now i create the apn manuall no changes at all

[q] apn settings not taking in my, regardless of correct apns-conf.xml-- nerfing mms

Im building a 2.3.6 ROM for the samsung R720(Vitality). Everything is working now except for the APN settings.
Here is my process and issue.
One phone, 2 different carriers (Vitality = Cricket -- Admire = MetroPCS)
My carrier (Cricket) requires apns-conf.xml and cdma-carriers-conf.xml (both of which are set correctly)
The build Im using is a GENERIC update from Samsung for the Admire(R720) (ported for the admire -- native to MetroPCS which only uses apns-conf.xml, not cdma-carriers-conf.xml).
I have both xmls set correctly, and upon first boot, I can get data, web, sms, just no MMS
I can restore APN with ApnBackupRestore, and MMS will resume working after a reboot.
It is not an Mms.apk specific issue, as I've already tried multiple mms apks known to work, as well as edited the mms-config.xml within the apk =\
Could it be that since the generic 2.3.6 update was meant for MetroPCS (and does not use cdma-carriers-conf.xml), this could be the root of my issue?
Im at a loss on how to get the apn to 'take' on first boot. I do not want the end user to have to restore from apnbackuprestore.
Does anyone have any insight to this issue?
Thanks in advance for reading.

No service (no data, no cell, no nothing) on xt1526, possible APN problem?

Fellow XDA
Stock xt1526 here with Android 5.1 no root or any other customization. After switching from R+ to Ting I lost service for good.
I am assuming it is APN related but I couldnt get the change the APN settings since it is greyed out in setting menu. I am wondering if there is a way to change the APN with my current set up?
If not; is rooting a solution to change APN? Can you please share some link how to change APN with root?
Can installing other ROMs help me to get the service back? and/or allow me to change APN?
Thank you for your helps
Flash stock modem files via Fastboot..
Change APN app usually works for me
