[Q] weird Facebook notifications? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so.. on my GNex running CM10 (stable release), I have Facebook notifications turned off completely. But twice today and yesterday my phone will vibrate and it comes up with a notification for Facebook..and all it does is open the app right to my newsfeed. I have no idea what this is about. I don't have any actual notifications in FB either. So I have no idea what they're supposed to be for or why they're on.
Ideas?

Guess that's what I'll try. But I haven't touched the fb app or anything system related in weeks and it suddenly happened yesterday...it's so strange. I feel like there has to be a reason for it. Will be probably a whole day or two before I can tell if it stops though, cause it's not frequent.

I'm getting the same issue. I have a Droid Incredible so it's not just your phone. It's pretty bothersome. Hopefully Facebook fixes it.

Yeah I reinstalled the Facebook app as well as updated to the latest nightly, and I just got another one. I'm thinking it's gotta be on Facebook's end.

I have a thread in my messages that shows it's unread. I've opened it several times both in stock messaging and also in handcent. I've also chosen to mark everything read and it still shows unread. Its driving me crazy.

And another thing, I also got a blank text from an anonymous sender.

Excuse me if it's a dumb question, but what is this widget?

Noticed a green widget called TRAFFIC in my widget list that I swear wasn't downloaded by me...OR...Maybe it's a stock app that I just didn't notice before. Either way, it doesn't seem.to work. Could someone please enlighten me. Any one got any idea what this is?

Whilst I can confirm that it is a stock app, I can't say what it's for. I tried it and it just ran Google maps, showing my current location. I can only guess that it does exactly that, but with traffic density showing on the map (which is an option in Google maps).
Thanks for confirming...and reassuring that it's a stock app. By it's functionality, I'm guessing that maybe it's one of the less thought out apps on gs2.

do you have window animations disabled? disabling them made the problem go away.
I'm also running Chainfire3D
but youtube is the only app that does this, I can rotate opera and others just fine with animations on and nothing corrupts.
new app is crap on my phone ..u-installed and using the original one that works

Facebook app is acting weird

For some reason, all the stuff on my news feed is HUGE and I have no idea why. I didn't change anything I just logged into the app and this is how it looked. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I didnt change my LCD density either.

file:///android_asset/WebKit/ error

Hey guys,
I've been having an issue with this error in the browser too often lately. I'm not sure why the hell I keep getting it. I've googled, but it seems there are others that have the issue with no fix.
I could switch browsers, but that shouldn't be the fix. I quite enjoy using the stock browser.
Attached is a screenshot of the message I receive.

I remember getting it when trying to view the play store in the browser. Doesn't do it in chrome though.

I think Chrome is pretty slow, and definitely not as smooth as the stock browser. I also don't like how the bar at the top doesn't disappear once you start scrolling.
I wish I could find a fix for this ;(
Turning plug-ins off in the browser settings stop that nonsense.
