I have rooted my note 2. All in running fast and completely. I have 9.05 GB free with a total of 10.33GB available.
I am trying to install Root Uninstaller Pro, Root Cleaner and Browser2Ram but I keep getting the "Out of space Delete some items and try again."
I have deleted some items, done a history erase, wiped caches, looked for odex file in system/app and anything else I could think of or find out about. I was able to install "history eraser" while trying to install the others and it installed okay so I know things will install. I did research in 5 other threads about "out of space" but none of those suggestions worked.
Anyone else having this problem??

When you install an application you get an icon you can place wherever you want.
The problem is that when I reboot, some icons always appear at the end of the last panel, like when the app was installed for the first time.
I've tried reinstalling, unistalling + deleting cache partition and delviks chace + installing, and whatever I thought It could help like "fixing permisions" in xrecovery.
I'm sure this is not an application problem, because I got it once and when I updated the phone (flashed a newer rom version) it fixed. The problem is I don't want to reflash the phone.
So what can I do? What file stores the apps icons position?
Thank you!
Hi, I'm using galaxy S2 and experiences the same problem.
rather discuss in this thread than open a new thread as it seems the same issue (android not phone)
anyone can help?
(I don't have an SD card, cuz I've searched and seen discussions about apps moved to SD card will make their icons run around)
Hey guys, I'm using the LG Optimus F6 (or D500). I rooted it today and started playing around, and now when I try installing any apk file I get an error saying "[app name] could not be installed. Free up some space and try again", however I have more than enough space on both internal and SD. I have no idea what's going on, and if anyone knows about this I'd thank you forever.
I'm going to list everything I did after rooting just in case it means anything:
Moved a few apps to SD and uninstalled bloatware
Tried to move chrome browser to sd by converting it to user app, and then it disappeared and I can't download it to the market due to "insufficient space"
Changed the boot animation in ROM Toolbox (which didn't work)
I'm not sure what caused it, but the issue appeared after I messed around with chrome with seems like a terrible idea cause I didn't really know very well what I was doing. Has anyone had this issue or know how to fix it? Thank you so much!
What do you mean disappeared? The file must still be there, use es file explorer and search for it.
Otherwise you'll need to flash the kdz for your phone.

If you want to avail this feature to move apps data to sd card you need to root the phone(Use kingo app for rooting) and install gl2sd app from playstore.
This app will copy the huge data of bigger games and few apps to sd card. That way you will be able to free up lots of space. You can then install many heavy data games on your phone and enjoy.
But yes you have to root the phone first. If you're afraid of warranty, then don't worry you can make the status back to official and get the warranty back. There a tool called triangle away to do that. So, if you want to have this feature then root. Go ahead and try if needed and enjoy. Cheers ! ! !:good:
Let me know if any issues.

Out of Space : Unable to install some apps
Hi everyone!
Pardon me, I'm just new here, I signed up bcoz I'm losing hope now.
I'm having issue installing "some" apps on my phone. (some are installing)
Search and tried TS steps found online to no success.
TS steps done:
Restarted the phone
Clear Cache on the recovery mode
Clear cache on each application through setting>application manager
Clear cache using android assistant
Tried the MMI code *#9900# and deleted dumpstate/logcat
Deleted the "mysterious large file" .thumbdata
Checked and deleted some odex files
Checked and deleted files under android/data
Installed Lucky patcher (no troubleshooting option)
Unable to install logcat
Unable to search appslib or app-lib
Phone information:
Galaxy grand quattro
Not rooted, stock ROM
phone memory : 1.74GB/ 5GB
SD card 1.5GB/ 32GB
Running process (under applct'n manager): 662MB used, 219MB free
RAM status : 568MB/845MB
I can just reset my phone to factory default but that's just avoiding the problem, I would like to resolve the root cause of the problem. (without rooting the phone)
I believe that we can resolved this issue.
Thank you in advance.

First of all make your phone rooted (then only you can delete modify files) use odin to flah CWM recovery and install superSU with CWM, some apk need root access ( like lucky patcher, root explorer) then use root explorer and go to sdcard/andriod /data and delete only the files which are not working and then try to install them it will work.
Here is the link to rooting :

I am wondering if anyone else has had problems installing programs from the Play Store and getting error code -24?
I figured out an annoying fix after trying to wipe davl, data, etc., to no avail...
I have to download and install Root Explorer (which thankfully didn't give me the error message), then I had to delete individual program folders that persisted even after a full wipe of the devise. I deleted these files from the /Data/Data folder which contains hundreds of these folders.
Does anyone have a better way to permanently delete these files rather than going in an removing them one at a time?
I've had this problem both on Stock Rooted NC5 and on Galaxy Note fre3 Hybrid De[Odex] v2.14 -BeastMode Kernel

It's happened to me a couple of times in the last few weeks... Typically happens when I click through on the computer to install the app on my phone. When this happens, if I try again, but from the phone play store, it didn't happen. I don't know why that worked, but it did for the few times I've gotten the error.
I also found this thread, where they talk about common play store error codes. It gives the same solution you had, and they attribute it to the ART, which fre3 doesn't have (although, they have added ART support for future implementation).
I hope more information comes to light about this.
Yes, again with this topic. I know that there have already been several of this particular topic posted, but none have been helpful. Also, you'll have to forgive me if I don't know what I'm talking about. With the usual- I only encountered this issue yesterday. The Google Play Store was working fine one minute, but the next it said "connection error". I tried clearing the cache of the app as I've seen recommended- but to no avail. Then, I searched around a bit more and tried manually adjusting the time on my phone, as others suggested. That didn't work either. I thought it could be due to one of the other google apps not working correctly, so I cleared the cache on all of those, too. Still, nothing.
Then, I ran into this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273994 (I do have a rooted device, by the way.) I tried getting the Total Commander and using the steps on that post, but ran into an issue with writing to a read-only partition. Other forum posts suggested deleting the hosts file, but again I couldn't delete it due to not being able to write to a read-only partition. None of the information I found about that was helpful, so I gave up on that.
Frustrated, I decided to go to a more drastic level. I tried factory resetting- but again, nothing. Then, I tried wiping the cache partition, factory resetting, and clearing the cache partition again. Nothing. I'm stumped. I really don't know what to do. If anyone has an answer for this, I'd be grateful a hundred times over.
I'm running a stock nc5 kernel on android 4.2 that's rooted
Hey use root explorer to r/w memory nd i tried and it worked pretty well
