if ur using the stock CM10 kernel that comes with the rom, then AFAIK it doesnt support Overclocking try changing it to SIYAH or Dorimanx kernel and then try

It is cwm based recory 6.0.1.9

i am not speaking about the recovery ma8, its about the kernel that comes with the rom are the one u have flashed after installing the rom
1)stock CM10 kernel- no overclock support
2) Custom Siyah or Dorimanx - Yes Overclock supported

Where i can check again
But I installed siyah kernel v.4

u can check the same in settings>about phone > kernel
if ur on siyah then Dwnld and install 'Extweaks' app from stores, open the same and there u can try Overclocking ur CPU
or u can use 'Set Cpu' app from stores to do the same

Thnks just flashed siyah v5. Is it safe to over clock to 1.6 ghz

No, and there is no point in overclocking it to 1.6ghz unless u want to burn ur phone
since most of the time 1.2ghz is more than enough for ur beast(s2) to perform well ma8

But whenever I go to settings...performance... processor... and open it set it to 1.5 it doesn't become 1.5 and goes back to 1.2

after setting it to 1.5 in settings > performance u have to check the option 'Set on Boot' then reboot phone and see

I see some stable ones and nightly. I m looking to improve my battery life from siyah. Any suggestion?
Thanks

I've been using the nightly builds for sometime and the battery drain issue has gotten better than if you were to use the RC1.
You could Siyah kernel, with its own tweaks to give you better battery life. What I also do, I undervolt all the CPU steps and downclocked CPU to further save battery.

Download the latest nightly and extract the kernel yourself. Not difficult, and this is the same advice given to you by GaboWinter on the RR FAQ thread.

For me CM9 nighly + siyah 3.3.3 do a huge battery drain and overheating....

Vink67 how would you use both kernels siyah and cm9 at the same time?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
No no he's running CM9 ROM and Siyah Kernel. You misunderstood his post.
I see. But I don t want to install another rom. Just wanna flash a new kernel. Can I? Is it from the link on the post above?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Sure, you can. Just visit this thread, choose your kernel, download .zip and flash via CWMR
Link above contains CM9 zips.
So what s the difference between cm9 kernel from this last post and the cm9 kernels on the link from the post above?
Thanks

Sounds as it could be an issue with the graphics/Mali drivers.
Maybe you should read the ROM thread and flash another ROM as long as this problem is not solved.
Good luck !
I tried flashing rootbox ROM and ressurection remix but the screen is still smaller. Any suggestions?

Siyah kernal didnt have the new Mali drivers that some of the jelly bean ROMS needed. Try flashing this kernal : its based on siyah with latest Mali drivers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617219
Edit : you need the version with new Mali (Dorimanx 7.4) direct link : http://dorimanx.shine.sk/kernels-jb/Kernel_Dorimanx-V7.4.2-JB-MALI-17-11--25-10-12-SGII-PWR-CORE.zip

No. Flashing a kernel will not wipe anything.
