Disable ongoing WiFi notification with root... - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Now that we have root, is there a way to disable the ongoing WiFi notification and adding a WiFi toggle? I tried all the steps used to do this on the Verizon Galaxy S III and it failed to work.

WiFi Notification Issues

Long-time lurker, first post. I've been looking for an answer to this one since Friday.
I got my Verizon Galaxy S3 on Friday and was immediately irritated by the ongoing WiFi notification. Monday rolled around and I rooted and disabled the notification per the instructions posted to Droid-Life, awesome.
I've come across another irritating pop-up notification that I cannot seem to disable. The message says that a known WiFi network is available and asks if I want to connect. It gives me the options OK, Connect always, Not now Remind me later. It happens only when I'm near an AP that I've connected to before. I have all notifications I can find disabled for WiFi. What I really want to know is, how the heck is it checking available WiFi networks if WiFi is OFF?
If this has been answered before, please point me in the right direction and I'll see myself out.
I can't seem to post screen shots yet, not enough posts. I'll see if I can get moving haha.

Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep is OFF
(Sorry if this double-posts, having some connection issues)

How unfortunate we need Root. So there is definitely no way to get rid of this with an app, without rooting? Even a paid app?
Is there any danger with root and updates? I mean if we undo the root, then we update, right? Then we re-apply root? Will the phone look exactly the same with root if we un root? I have Verizon. I read something about this "triangle counter" or whatnot. To get root do we currently have to flash an entire rom or is there an easy trick like most phones? Sorry I've not rooted before. If someone just points me in the right direction even I'll read up on it. Thank you.

[Q] Remove Ongoing WiFi Notification not working completely

I've implemented the mod from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297213 on my Verizon Galaxy S4. All I've done is root it and install TWRP and two other mods (remove e911 and 1% battery). This mod works great, however I'm still getting an ongoing notification when I have wifi on and I'm in an area where there are no wifi access points. It says "no access points around" or something like that. If I turn wifi off then it disappears. It's not really a big deal, I was just wondering if it's just my device doing this or if anyone else has this happening to them too. And if so, it would be cool to get it fixed .
Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

[Q] Disable Toast Notifications (for a specific app)

Hey guys,
I've been searching for a while now and could not find an answer: Is there a way (an app, framework module, flashable zip, whatever) to disable toast notifications? Ideally, this should work for a specific app but if that's not possible disabling them in total would be fine, too.
"Why would you do that", you may ask. Well, the thing is, I use the app "Best Wifi" to switch my wifi automatically at home since I'm using a repeater there. But as soon as I'm in an area without wifi connection, it tries to connect to a wifi and keeps on sending toast notifications with "no APN found blabla" every 15 seconds. Thats especially disturbing when I use my phone as a navigation device in the car. So, it would be great if I could block those toast notifications from popping up.
Currently, I'm using a rooted Nexus 5 with Beanstalk ROM on 4.4.2.
Thanks in advance!
Regards, Dominic

This answer is based on the assumption that you are using xPosed Framework.
Check this out. According to its developer, it works on Kitkat.
Featured on XDA portal few days ago.
Press Thanks if helped.
Thanks, that's what I've been looking for. I'll give it a try!
I have the same issue. However, I can't install any framework on my device. (I'm using an unofficial cm 12.1 build that isn't compatible) and I was wondering if there is any other way to do this? I've done a bit of searching and trial and error with Tasker but haven't figured out any solution.

Oh I just notice hot spot toggle missing as well. Good to know I'm not alone. Hope to see some solution soon.
yep on carhd custom rom and mine disappeared overnight too?? bizarre?
any fix available please?
thanks
I thought I was the only one
I was about to create a thread about this, especially on my devices it's not only the Mobile Data and Mobile Hotspot missing, but quite a few and it's really annoying, I was thinking that maybe after gaining root and changing the build prop settings for better multitasking caused this or maybe the mod I applied that removed the S-finder and Quick Connect buttons, did any of you guys make this modifications, check my attached screenshothot to see how worse mine is I was even thinking of going back to stock
Also I had a backup on Flashfire and when I restored it, everything was back to normal buy after some few minutes the issue is back again
Holy **** I thought I was going nuts !
Same problem here in Switzerland, Int. version. No update, nothing but during this night the toggle disapeared. I have no idea what's going on.
Same In France
grooted s6 edge not rooted
This is how it was before
I just restored the flashfire backup to see how it was before, check this
So you not rooted and facing the same issue?? If yes then it means that my assumptions we're wrong that it's probably because of the modifications I explained on my first post above

Not rooted, same issue sadly
ive got new button in place...Network restriction? but it cuts out everything data wise..like airplane mode- but you cannot put wifi on afterwards??
mines rooted but not changed anythting at all since rom install. its just removed by itself
Didn't have the time to look much into it but without any software update could it be related to Google Play Service ? I mean, I don't see how they could remotly remove it from us ?
Fix
Same thing here, no data toggle.
I fixed it through sqlite editor. I added MobileData and changed the number of active toggles.
Updated OP to mention I did not root
Wow. Seem like a lot of people having this issue. Interesting. All occur at once. How does this happen.
Should we wait or do a Factory Reset ?
This is a common issue since today. Something happened 6-7 hrs back causing this issue.
The big question is "what's the fix" ?
Since mine is an unlocked non-carrier International version, I am sure this is not a T-Mobile or Verizon issue.
Is there a way to contact someone in Samsung about this problem ?
Will a FACTORY RESET solve the issue ?
Any ideas ?
Has anyone tried a factory reset yet, I'm facing the same problem, some of my toggles are just gone. Not rooted, factory unlocked, so I have no idea what's going on.

Let's kill the "Mobile data is turned off" notification!!

Hi Fellow ATT S7E Owners,
Some of us have chosen to stay Stock on this phone. My primary reason is not tripping Knox and using Samsung Pay. I have been trying to fix most issues or workarounds:
1. AdBlocking
2. Mobile Data toggle
3. Package Disabler to turn down the bloat
But for us ATT users, there is this annoying continuous notification that pops when we turn off data for the first time, after a reboot, EVER IF, we have WiFi on ! It goes, "Mobile data is turned off."
Googled and researched ways of getting rid of this annoying message. Wondering if any of you had success with it? Getting all of us to talk about it to see if there is a solution, thank you!

There is very simple solution . Turn your data on. If you worry that you get overages turn off some background data for apps. When you on WiFi your mobile data is not in use.
For all the hype about having control over your notifications, not being able to change this one is super annoying. I'm also guessing AT&T is trying to get us to us as much data as possible so they change charge us more.

It shouldn't have to be this way, if I don't want data on, don't you agree? Why have needless signal processing or searching when I don't need something? ?

Tell me about it bud! Wish we had a way to slay it... For people wondering what this is, I'm attaching a screen shot...
The only way to get rid of it for now which is not very fun btw, Swipe right on the notification until you see the gear on the left and tap the gear. After that tap "phone" with the green icon next to the word "phone" and then tap "force stop".
So far that's the only way to get rid of it.

Thanks, but couldn't that endanger us getting a phone call, necessarily 100% of the time?
any news ? any way to disable it permanently ?
Interesting. I've never seen this on my S7E & I have mobile data permanently off.
Is it solved yet???

No Sir it was never solved and I moved on to the S8+.
The Theme I was using was called, "Red Strokes" I believe with custom icons and a wallpaper.
Hope someone cracks this!
Galaxy s9, Android 8.0.0 here. Following worked for me, check if it works for you:
1. Go to Settings
2. Go to Developer Options
3. Look for "Keep Mobile data turned on". Uncheck that.
And hopefully, voila...
EDIT:
This method does not work anymore...
1. Settings
2. Apps
3. Select Options, then Show System Apps
4. Locate "Phone" (Maybe there will be 3)
5. Select every "Phone" App that you find and select "Force to Stop"
and the message dissapers.
(If you restart the phone you will need to do this again).
