I have an issue with my phone. I accidently uninstalled contacts and storage.Now I cant open many applications , even dialer. Now I want to restore or install this contacts and storage. Kindly help me out with this. its motorola photon updated to 2.3.5.

Hi to everybody,
I just bought a P500 and started to work on my own modification.
I already rooted the phone and installed a custom ROM (GB).
Before this one I got a Huawei Ideos 8150 (froyo); the contacts application of this phone provide native management of the contacts groups allowing to set ringtones, send group messages and so on.
As you know this functionality is missing in P500, so I would like to know if it's possibile to use the apks from my previous phone.
I already tried to simply install the ContactsProvider (I deleted the apks from the rom before installing it) using adb but I get this error:
INSTALL_FAILED_SHARED_USER_INCOMPATIBLE

but after that when I launch phone or contact it says that the application is not installed....
Is there any way that I can make that contacts manager working on P500?
I know there are many other contacts manager on the market but this is not the question...

Hi guys , i just installed cynogenmod & found that many google apps like market arent working correctly . In my case whenever i try to download any thing from market it says that therewas some problem in downloading & nothing seems to happen. I would really like if someone can help me out . Also , i seem to be missing the multiple delete option and themes in messaging app from Samsung. Any way i can use Samsungs messaging & contact list ?????
the sms theme is not "missing", its how the way its is in cm messaging app. no u cannot use messaging app from samsungs rom, it require its own framework, wont work with cm. use other third party messaging app like gosms, handcent or chompsms. those third party messaging app had theme customization till the very font color, not just bubble color like default samsungs messaging.
btw i cant understand why u guys had that many problem with gapps. for me its working flawlessly.
It's because they don't bother to read. Google apps are already in the rom. Market for example is frozen on first start but defrosted when you connect to the internet.
There is always problem with new market application. Better u switch back to older version. I advice version 2.3.4.
(Version 2.3.4 is for Andriod market version and not Gingerbread 2.3.4.)

Dude didnt you read ... I never said that it aint installed ... Its that even after connecting to internet & trying to download it gives me an error that there is some problem with download ... I tried restarting & connecting to internet 5 times but still same ... I even went on android market without the app ... but still the same error is persisting !

lol ... ya i think i will have to now , was just waiting for some simpler solution ... btw found another bug . After installing the flashlight application ... the led flash light doesnt seem to work ??? any tips on that ?

what flashlight app do u use? "tiny flashlight+led" from market works with cm7 kang for me

I would say that happened because you flashed gapps. It's not necessary at all to do that. The market works fine from the original zip.

Kies doesn't support CM.. Next time synchronize contacts with GMail or use some other third party app..

You have to convert kies backup contacts into .vcf format and import it to contacts from SD card.Follow this ...

This kinda testing's a little bit tough on newbies, so don't stress yourself and trying reading around the forums so you can learn; I recommend you surfing on the Dev Forums. Cheers.

Idle mode ? WiFi going silly as in takes up a lot of battery ? Sorry , I don't get you :/

I'm new to android and have a query. I want to factory reset my phone. I have backed up all the apps using app back & restore and thus have all the apks saved. I want to know that if I restore these apps from the backup, will google play update still work for these? Please guide me.

Obviously google play updates will work. They don't work only when the APK is signed by another key. And backing up an app dosen't do that. The key will be the same. So you've got no reason to worry about.

Is there a way to group widgets of a same application? I mean, when I say add widgets on homescreen, all different sized widgets of the same app is displayed ( like desktop visualizer will have 1x1,1x2,2x1,3x1 etc all showing ),is there a way to have it only show desktop visualizer and then on selecting it show all sizes under it ? just flash your ROM and gapps again.
remeber to wipe though.
Use the option in TB
In Titanium backup there is an option to restore apps. Select the option to restore all apps and first de-select all apps. Then select only the 2 you deleted. Should work fine.

Delete your Google account and sign in back Google should automatically load your contacts

Are you sure that you have saved all your contacts to Google account but not to local storage??? If yes I would suggest you to reflash gapps if you are rooted if not then a factory reset would help you out

hi sir,oic.......my phone is spice mi350,(SIMILAR WITH XT531,DOMINO),android version 2.2.2 rooted. very old phone.i dunno about custom rom. i am thinking tat maybe i have to get original contact storage.apk file. then only my phone will work.the one i download from internet not original . if anyone one else can get me the original file,it will be so nice. good hearing from you.:good:

any chance this could be done using download mode? im stuck in the setup wizard because of this damned error. im running the twrp beta on bootloader unlocked, rooted, ms330 (k7) 5 whole days old. i was playing with an app i ought not have. also for everyone else, adb is epic for everything.....
