This would happen on custom ROMs...when they start to get developed now that there is root.

In all the good roms youl be abe to pick whatever toggles you want.

So I was wondering if the 4 US versions share the same roms, kernels, etc?

Sprint plans are cheaper than other providers which is why I want to switch to it. If they offer horrible internet speed I'd rather go with att or verizon.

[Q] Cant access LTE, only 3g?

Switched from galaxy nexus to galaxy note 2, and popped in the simcard from the galaxy nexus.
However only getting 3g, no 4g? My galaxy nexus always had perfect 4g coverage too

are you rooted ???
if so do this
have you tried flashing the new radio ???
go to this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2108510
and before flashing download AFV from the app store to check the md5 that way you can do everything from your device
Sounds to me more like you need a new sim card

Maybe this. Check network settings first. Also factory reset the phone.

what ROM are you running?
some of them reflect a different symbol
for example.......there is a ROM that show "HSPA+", same thing as 4g LTE
I am running the stock ATT jb

Could some one tell me the apn
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
so did you flash another modem/radio?
since yesterday i cant use the att jb modem on Tmo not sure what the heck happen
I've been using the same modem
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Reboot the phone and let the phone register on the network. The APN should be in the phone database. In case its not, which would be impossible with a stock rom, you can enter it, and be sure to SAVE it.
Right now I'm using the phone apn I have rebooted the phone many times I actually would like to know when I put it to only lyrics in the phone info menu it still shows as hspa
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
HSPA = 3G/4G Kind of strongest signal available.
On TouchWiz firmware:
E=2g
3g=3g
4g=hspa
4g lte= lte the strongest signal.
Aosp:
E=2g
3g=3g
H=hspa
4g= lte
disable lte

ROOT / SU Question / Mega 6.3 / USA / AT&T

Anyone,
I'm not an android noob, but I left Android a few years back (2.3.3 / 2.3.4) due to work changing to iPhones for data encryption reasons. I came back to Android when more Samsung phones started supporting ODE (on device encryption). I would like to root my phone and have done so on other Android phone's using SuperOneClick, CWM, etc.
I am reading that there is a secure boot loader on the AT&T version of this phone in USA, so I am screwed in gaining root access to the device? I'd really like to delete all this bull**** bloatware they've installed... and a tethering app without using the carrier option.
Can anyone help?
I have the AT&T version as well. I'm not 100% sure that the bootloader is the reason for no root yet. Other phones have locked bootloaders and can still be rooted.
Running custom roms might be another story. I get the impression that because this is not a "mainstream" phone that it does not get top priority. For example, the Moto X on AT&T has a locked bootloader and that's rooted already, but it's a very popular phone.
Hopefully we'll get some love sooner rather than later. I would be happy with root along with an easy way to go back to stock.

No boot loader unlock, no root, so no custom ROMs as yet.
Be patient.

I purchased the Straight Talk kit yesterday and you have the option of use Tmobile or AT&T by switching the sim card. if your bill it too high try Straight Talk.

Galaxy S4 network mode options

Hello!
I have a Galaxy s4 that's stock 4.3 ROM but rooted and CWM. When I go into Network Mode (4g 3g or 2g) I only have WCDMA/GSM, WCDMA only and GSM only. How can I add the 4G LTE option to this menu? Do I need to flash another modem or what? I'd like to keep my current ROM in case I sell my phone and to avoid issues. Any help available?
Cheers

Is your plan 4g included? It may be a plan limitation and you might need to change your plan to a LTE/4G plan.
Smack that thanks button if I helped!

Nope. But my phone is rooted and CWM is installed so I can't do a software upgrade when they add the features. So I would lile to have it there pre emptively

If you're plan doesn't include 4g, then u won't have lte as a choice in your network mode. (And will never have) (u can try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brownent.switchit if u want. I think your phone will just lose signal till u switch back.)
