When I had my HD2 I had a program installed that allowed me to see my mobile on my pc screen and could use the phone on my pc as if i was using the actual phone,
Any idea what this could be and is there one for the One X?
Cheers in advance
There's a few:
AndroidScreencast, but that's outdated
A VNC server
There's another one, I'll get back to you if I can find it
I don't recognize those names but thanks
Edit: The one I used had to have HTC sync running for it to work and I had a little image of a mobile in my taskbar when the app was running if that helps

Not being Rooted is going to restrict your options in many aspects. It basically like having a governor on your device. Your never going to be able to experience your device's full potential while Un-Rooted.

will we be able to use this site when the phone is release?
I doubt it, the site seems to be centered around Sense on Android devices.

it turns out windows live have the same feature as htc. The site can also track your phone and lock and erase phone. I think htc took the idea!
Well... I guess both of them got the idea from Apple's MobileMe. Although remote wipes could be performed on many smartphones before that (through Exchange Active Sync or the Blackberry whatever it's called service).
Still great that MS added this to Windows Live. Especially the possibility to let your phone ring if you're unable to find it will come handy - I "lose" my phone quite frequently in my own flat.
I think there was a rumor some few weeks ago saying the HTC devices will get an update with the HTCSence.com features, but nothing right now.

That's true. They just display the 4g symbol to fool people into thinking its faster than what it is.

i used the site which let me see my contacts so i could text people from the touch pad browser using my android phone. it was quick worked quick. i could even respond with out issues. now if someone could turn this into an standalone app that would be amazing, that way we could incorporate a pop up feature. should not be hard if there is already a system in place.

Wowzers! This thread is back from the grave.
I recommended Tablet Talk. One of my top 5 that does the same thing.

You are half correct. Tablet Talk is for tablets. Browsertexting is for internet browsers which both PC's and Tablets are capable of.
Seeing as this is under the HP Touchpad forum and the HP Touchpad is, in fact, a tablet I think my previous comment holds some merit.

Right, I think I didn't hesitate to see your mistake My bad
I bought an M730W about a month ago from geeks. It came with 2.3.4 on it. I searched high and low to find the ICS for it since I'd seen that the same model is out and comes with it installed. I finally contacted Geeks to see if they could get me in touch with the manufacturer. They had no contact info. Finally after digging around I noticed something with the name of the US based company that hold the patent rights to it. I then dug more and got their number and while I was on hold I found their site. At this address (mymidpad dot com forward slash Downloads_M730Flash dot html) iwas was able to obtain a good manual and the updated firmware. Inside the installer it comes with PhoenixUSBPro, an IMG file and a key. During the install it said it was installing drivers to my laptop but I can not find them when I connect my tablet. The only way that I can apply the update is to have my M730W connected to my machine in a way that it's recognized. The only way for me to do so now is to connect as a USB storage device which does me no good when it comes to using the included software and firmware for updating. So my question is, does anyone know what I can do to resolve this issue?
Hey Tod. I also have the m730w. ICS is definitely available for the tablet but theres a catch. Since its a tablet(a generic one at that) you have to use a program for your pc called Live Suite which is primarily used for the ainovo tablets but can be used with any generic tablet. I cant do it right now but most likely tonight, ill post the links and the information on how to upgrade to ics. im currently running 4.0.3 flawlessly and much faster and smoother than GB. and i have full root which i can also show you how to do. just let me know

That's killer Ace, thank you so much!!! Mine came rooted, which has been a blessing. Whenever you can get the information to me is fine. I'll do a search for Live Suite and see if I can at least get that step taken care of.

I don't have just the rom. What I've got is the package that can be downloaded from their site. I don't have enough posts in to put an external link in my posts here. I'd try using a different browser and going to the URL I cheated into my OP. Just replace "dot" with "." and "slash" with "/". The software doesn't install the drivers properly on Vista though so you will want to be aware of that.
Any other word??? I want to update my neice's if at all possible.
Wow, here are the instructions! Good luck!

Bump.
I have searched this exhaustively! I still don't know what ROM to download or how to boot into recovery mode. The guy above who posted about Live Suite? Haven't heard back from him. I downloaded that, but without the ROM, I don't see the point in even setting it up. I'm not particular about which ROM, as long as it's newer than the one on here, preferable CM7 or newer, but beggars can't be choosers emmirite??!!

Well, well, well. Someone gave me a POS Kocaso M750B and I've been on a search to do something else with it. And I find a good chap from the epic 4G forums.
Did you ever make any progress getting any other rom on your el cheapo tablet?

LOL. Hi there. Nope. Not a damn thing have I done with mine. It is sitting on my desk. I let my son play Minecraft on it on long rides, and I use it as backup for my phones camera. I know it could be so much smoother, but is being crippled by it's OS. If I could ficgure out how to boot it into recovery I might risk bricking it with a questionable ROM. But I can't find the ROM OR the means by which to boot into recovery. In truth though, I mainly got it to patootz with. I'm more of a laptop kind of guy anyway.

If you don't know, there's no chance any of us ever will. Someone got this for free at some promotion and handed it off to me, so I'm out absolutely nothing. Just a bummer there isn't more to do with it. You'd think that all these POS tablets would just share the same mainboard and proc, so that some standard JB rom would work for all of them. The screen is terrible and it registers touches so poorly that many games are just unplayable. But, if I give it to one of my nieces or nephews, I'll be a hero!
Thanks though!

Yes you will be a hero. I'm sure there are generic ROMS that would work with this. A) I have no idea where they would be. and B) I don't know how to flash them. If I found one I suspected was close, I might try to ODIN it on there.

That's it. You install it to your device from the market (using your PC) and it uses GPS or cell towers to locate your phone. And I believe it refreshes every ten or so minutes.

I believe Androidlost can be remotely installed also but is buggy with certain phones. It can locate the phone like Plan B but has tons of other features.

Do you trust AndroidLost? The whole thing seems a little fishy, and at least one user reported hearing camera shutter sounds (the kind that are made when you take a screenshot or front facing camera photo, a function available in AndroidLost) - this was shortly before the dev removed the sound making function when taking remote FFing stills.

Not at all and neither do I trust Viber and it's shady dev or lot's of other apps on the market. I don't keep Androidlost installed all the time but after playing around with it, I can see where it could be very useful tool for after the fact locating a lost or stolen phone.
i'm looking for a free android (non-root) data recovery pc program that can restore my lost files on my phone like pictures and such.
If you Google it there's plenty to choose from. However, I'll tell you from my own experience 95% of them are going to show you what you could recover but not actually let you save anything until you pay for the software. And for non-rooted devices it's not going to pull much up, maybe some photos if they were very recently deleted and I never found one that could recover any SMS. Good luck

that the reason why i'm asking. there's are a lot of them, but i don't know which one will work.
hoping someone here knows one
I just downloaded a bunch of them and tried them all. Like I said you're going to get pretty much the same results with any of them. If I remember right Tenorshare was a decent one. I'd stay away from Dr. Fone, Wondershare will load your PC up with all kinds of crap. I

i think i managed to get most if not all my photo's and videos back thanks to tenorshare.
it didn't allow recovery with just free version, luckily i discovered there's a special collab thing going where there giving 12 months free if you sign in with a name and email.
