Is anyone else having problems with WiFi tether.. I'm getting a lot of errors and force closes. Never had a problem with any of my other devices. And yes I am rooted.. could it be the same problem that everyone else is having with random apps where they can't handle screen size so they force close? Thanks in advace.

If you are using the WiFi tether app then change your device profile to generic ICS/jb (wlan0) it worked for me

Wifi tether for rooted users. If you search for it the play store it will be the first one that comes up.

If it is like the other roms you do not need another app. Just turn on the built in wifi tether. No need to touch apn's.

Did you download the latest version from here : http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list
Works fine for me. Tested the newest, (3.1 beta 2), this morning. (ignore the Access Control error).
Also, Barnacle is working fine too : http://szym.net/barnacle/
Also tested this morning, although I got faster speeds with WiFi Tether.
I have the nocturnal ROM adrenaline and it has hotspot hack......but when launching it it says Sprint has noticed I haven't subscribed. Is this normal

Anyone?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
no, that's not normal with the hacked one. Try reflashing the rom.
also, the hotspot hack only works on 3g. use wifi tether if you need 4g.
WiFi tether doesn't work with me.

I get that message once in a while, but it still works for me.

Did you go into settings and enable MSS Clamping and Routing fix?
I was using treve mod, but I can't seem to get it to work. Are there any other free hotspot apps, or is it just apart the Rom? I am in ouroboros.

Add one more:
>Change Setup Method<
From Auto (default) to:
Netd-Ndc (master)
This setting prevents the tethered device from losing connectivity to the network while still showing a connected status in WiFi Tether.
Anyone using wifi tether without tether plan? Is there a workaround? Any tricks tips? Ive been trying for days since jailbreaking my iPad.

In case anyone else was wondering, all you need is the default tether app from T-Mobile and a tether widget. Set stuff up in the default app and activate via widget

This method alone did not work for me. I changed my apns, and the "tether _dun" value. I also deleted my upsell file. Worked like a charm. Unlimited wifi tether...no having to change user agents.
Also kuma's ROM is working perfectly for tether. Can't believe I didn't try it sooner.

I can't send mms on Wi-Fi. Anyone know how to get this working?
I also have been trying to turn off the voice when I get calls that reads out the callers name. Any idea about where you can turn off that feature?

I have this problem but only with MMS originating from certain iPhones.
I was reading online and I get the feeling this is a problem with carrier/iPhone settings and not the s5 so there might not be a way to fix it.
Might try disabling automatic download of MMS and try downloading it manually after turning wi-fi off as a temporary solution
Yea it works on regular data. I just was wondering if anyone else could not send on wifi of anyone knew how to turn off the call voice announcement.
Maybe a bug u say?

Also, when I have wifi calling enabled I can't send group messages. When I disable it, it works just fine..

Then it won't send. I called to and they said it must be my phone or a provisioning issue. I have had two different gs5 and they both wouldn't work. I'm sure it's provisioning

Yep.. Go get a new SIM card. That's what fixed mine when I was having issues with group messaging not being an option under messages.
Ok I went to the tmobile store. Make sure you are using a SIM with ISIS. I have a new one and now it works. I do have to be connected to WiFi calling though.
