It's part of the LGNPST restore, so I'd guess "yes".

thanks i was just making sure since the sprint version model is ls970 and the att model is le970, but thanks again for the reassurance
I had to restore using the LGNPST last night, and it does work. However, i did notice some minor differences in the rom after reverting. 1 - There are now 5 icons on the lock screen as opposed to 4 (and you can only change 4 in settings, so your stuck with stock browser on the lock screen for now) and the powered off charging icon is full color instead of black and white. Also, bill my ATT account is no longer an option in Play Store, but i don't know if this is related to the flash back to stock or not.

Yours is an interesting experience. Other than the "bill my ATT account" in the Play Store (something that I've never noticed, but that's probably more a deficiency in my powers of observation, than a matter of it not being there), my restore was stock (i.e., didn't have the changes that you mention).
LS970 DLL
Can you provide me with that dll for the LS970.

Hey guys, I'm new here, and I have just bought an LG Optimus F60 from Metro PCS. Anyone else have this phone? Anyone have anything on here for this phone? I searched any nothing came up. I don't really think it needs anything much because it is good the way it is. I got it on sale for $50, the original price was $150. For $50 I don't think it's bad at all.
It's got a nice 1.2ghz quad core
1gb ram
8 gb internal memory, 4 gb useable.
Android 4.4.2,
It's got 4GLTE, and it's really responsive, fast, doesn't freeze like my L70 used to.
Yea I got this phone like a week ago and I'm loving it so far. But, I have a 4G LTE unlimited data plan and my data speeds are very very slow. My phone carrier is Metro PCS and am wondering if you have slow data speeds as well? And I have been looking for a way to root this phone but I couldn't find any method that works. Have you found one? Thanks.

Here u go...these instructions worked for me...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/lg-optimus-f60-t3026744
i need to restore my lg f60 (i'm in the us and the carrier it supports is metropcs). i have TWRP recovery on it. can someone link to stock firmware/rom (whatever the terminology is...basically the operating system that the phone came w/), usb drivers, software tool to install the firmware, and everything i need to restore my phone back to how it was when i bought it
i was curious and tried lollipop (i think i tried both 5.0 something or 5.1 something or just one of them ended up working) but the camera was completely non-functional so now i need to go back to the phone being how it was when i bought it.
the firmware i've installed on the phone right now is MS39510G_00 (i think "MS39510G" is the actual identifier of the firmware, and the 00 is probably not useful for anything; the site i got it from maybe just appends it for some reason). but this firmware doesn't seem like what the phone came with or i'm not using/not doing everything i need to to restore it back to normal.
couple of things that strike me as odd and make me think that i don't have the right firmware or just didn't do something right:
there's a weird white area at the bottom, which i think was transparent and took on the color of the wallpaper on the phone when you just bought it & didn't mess around w/it
some of the icons are just the generic green android icon. a lot of apps have this same icon instead of different icons of their own
the lock screen also seems kind of different. it doesn't look like the lock screen of a new lg f60. maybe i was using a custom lock screen (i doubt it, but it's possible) but still it doesn't look like the standard lock screen to me
I picked this phone up for $50. The first thing I did before buying it was check the IMEI. Swappa said it was ready for activation and not blacklisted. I check most of the stickies and Q&As, but I just want to make sure I don't jump the gun and do something stupid. So I guess this is where my questions fall into place.
1. I want to activate this on Metro PCS, Is this even possible? I have an Exhibit on their network but it takes a full sized SIM. If so, what do I need and how?
2. I want to unlock the bootloader and the SIM slot. Some people have said the Verizon s4 is already SIM unlocked but I honestly couldn't find a straight answer, and since the SIM card I have for my Exhibit is full sized, I can't test it.
Actually, I guess those were my only questions. If you need any additional information from me about the phone just let me know. The last phone I messed with was an Xperia Play and by the looks of it, it's much easier to work with compared to the s4.

Why am I not able to unlock the bootloader?
There is no method available and Verizon will not do it.

You can use it on metropcs by simply inserting the sim and putting in the APN settings, but beware that you "as is" the phone has lte/cdma option or gsm/umts or global. For lte on tmobile network, you have to select lte/cdma BUT you only get LTE, no 2G or 3G, so basically no calls, just data , as if it were a tablet. With the other 2 modes, (one may work better than the other) you can get HSPA+ and 2G, etc. voice calls work fine and data works (assuming apn settings are correct), but you will not get LTE.
there's possibly a way to unlock more bands and options, through the method in this link ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059 ) but besides root you need a custom ROM. I have root, but I'm trying to figure out if I can do a custom ROM on 4.4.2. i know we cannot unlock the bootloader, but it seems some people do have custom ROMs, but not sure if I can get there (safestrap? flashing through odin?).
They use safestrap for anything above MDK and can only use compatible roms. MDK is the only version that can have a custom recivery and could flash ROMs like CM 12.

How do I tell if I'm on 'MDK'? The guy I got it from barely did anything with the phone.
Enabling more bands would help to get better reception, but if it's working goof enough for you. ..then maybe no need
GO into settings and see which baseband you are on if it says anything but MDK for the last 3 you cannot install a custom recovery.
Go to settings - About device and put the last three letters of the Baseband. If it is MDK, you are FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
If not, you are in a jail.

What's so special about MDK and why aren't we able to revert back to it?

Fool proof.
It's just a firmware right? I figured someone would have cracked the code since this phone is a few years old now
Well, MDK is THE ONLY firmware that can use the Loki Doki exploit to unlock the bootloader. But thanks to Knox and Verizon, THERE IS NO WAY TO DOWNGRADE BACK. Since then, we have only been able to find root and no bootloader unlock.
Hey guys!
I just saw that a root for the Verizon LG V10 has been released and that's super exciting news, but I want to know if the same root is possible with my device, what is the difference, and what is the same. I use a local carrier that only covers about 1/4th my state and I'm always getting weird versions of phones, mainly rebranded Verizon exclusives. Examples are instead of the Droid Turbo we had the Motorola MAXX, and back in the day we had the Milestone X rather than the Droid X. Same phone, different branding. My carrier is a CDMA carrier just like Verizon, and I believe we even use Verizon's LTE. The past few phones I've had the APN settings always had VZWINTERNET as the APN.
In the past I've rarely found information about my devices, especially rooting. With my Milestone I had to follow Droid X tutorials, for my Motorola MAXX XT1250 I had to follow a XT1225 tutorial, and I'm in the same boat now. I can barely find any posts at all related to the LG V10 RS987.
So my question is, will I be able to follow the Verizon method of rooting like I've done in the past? Or will there need to be a root specific to my device? Thanks in advance guys.

I'm at work right now so I can't call, and I've been waiting to chat for 15+ minutes and it keeps saying there's 9 a head of me. I did however find something interesting. I found a thread in the LG V10 general forums that shows how you could get blinking cat eyes on your second screen using QuickShortcutMaker, and it seems the cat eyes are exclusive to the Verizon VS990 model. I downloaded QuickShortcutMaker and I am able to load the cat eyes: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66016810&postcount=25
So I spoke with LG support and they pretty much referred me to the online manual and assured me that a Verizon SIM card would work in my phone, but they were unable to tell me if a Verizon VS990 software update would work on my RS987 or if they used the same hardware.

As much as I want to try and root my phone, if I brick it I'm pretty much SOL since I can't find support for my model. I think I may just wait for somebody to post a download for the VS990 6.0 update and try flashing it using update mode.
Bumping this thread back up. The KDZ for the VS990 MM update has been released and I'm extremely tempted to try it. If I attempted to flash the Verizon KDZ would it brick my phone or would it fail to flash since it's not the correct model?
I would think the lgup software would throw an error if it doesn't work right. only one way to find out though unfortunately since your model phone doesn't have much support.
The RS987 should have the FM radio tuner enabled by default. Other than that there are no real differences at a hardware level.

I have a RS987 now. Funny thing about this phone is that it sort of doesn't really exist. The ebay listing stated it was an US Celluar variant. The phone itself has some Bluegrass celluar softs hiding inside.
My all time go to fav of QuickShortcutMaker quickly reveals vzw hidden goodies.
To me it appears that it was truly a vs990 that someone tried to rebrand as their own.

Not sure. I don't see that. I interchange the SIMs in my account between the iPad, LG VK810 and LG V521 all the time without any issues. With the VK810, I have to set APN since it's a Verizon unlocked device. I don't have to do anything with the other 2.

Hi guys, anybody here using the unlocked version of LG G6? I preordered mine off BH Photo Video and it arrived yesterday.
Was browing the threads and forums and haven't seen any regarding the unlocked version. My carrier is AT&T but I hate carrier phones since my experience with AT&T LG G5.
I saw lots of threads about how to access the hidden menu and stuff and tried it myself but didn't work so I was hoping some of you here uses the unlocked version and knows how to do that stuff.
Thanks!

Nope. LG did something stupid again like they did with the G4. They made the us cellular version and us unlocked version the exact same model number. I thought they had learned because with the G5 they differentiated the model number for the us unlocked version, but they went back to old habits I guess. So there are two variants of the us997:
US997: US cellular
US997: USA unlocked variant

No sorry, don't have the device so can't test. Maybe try putting a 0 in front of behind the 997 though, not sure. I'm guessing they wanted to differentiate the access code for the two different software versions but not sure. The code should be what was posted just different would be the 997 part.
