I don't have a SGH 1777 myself, but I was rooting it for my cousin and I had no idea ROM manager was corrupt.
If anyone has any idea how to unbrick or fix through Odin please feel free to share.
My friend should not have to pay for my ignorance.

Rom Manager is not corrupt, just no official support for our device. -- Hence the Sticky Thread Warning in this forum.
U probably are gonna have to flash back to Stock...see the stickies in the Dev forum. U can gain Root access there as well. All info that u need is in the stickies.

Thanks. I was reading the stickies, but I couldn't find the stock ROM that is flashable through Odin. Could you point me in the right direction please?

Thank you. And just a quick question, I flash the kernel on that page with Odin correct?
U can use either Odin or Heimdall to flash the rooted system, kernel and modem.

So is it your friend or cousin? Maybe cousin-friend? Is that like uncle-daddy?

After u root it successfully, upgrade to twrp from cmwr. Install Jamie's JB ROM and you'll be good to go.
Thanks guys. Idk what my friend did but he completely bricked his phone. Wont even turn on.

I have a stock rooted galaxy s3 vzw, with google wallet hack. I was trying to make a new nandroid backup and the phone will only enter download mode. I can not get in to recovery. I have been defering the vzw OTA not sure if that has to do with it. But any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello all, I have finally decided to root my S3. I just have one question though, what app would be good to backup all my settings, pics, apps and everything else? Also what is a good Rom to use that's fast and based on jellybean?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
You can use titanium backup. As for the ROM it depends, some prefer stock with custom kernel others prefer asop ROMs. You should browse the forums and decide for yourself. Also next time search and only make a new thread if you can't really find an answer, the moderators may get mad at you.

What's the difference between asop and stock with different kernel? I read some older topics and just go too confused.

read the OP. it explains the different naming schemes of various different ROMs. it also lists all the roms that fall into different categories of aosp, aokp, stock, and others.

actually jjegan is right. due to hardware differences, you need to check out the appropriate forum for your phone. you will turn your phone into an expensive paperweight if you flashed any roms or kernels in this forum.

1) Questions usually belong in the Q&A-section.
2) This one doesn't. Please do some research for yourself as the answer is too obvious.

Hi,
Seems like my device has been semi bricked
I can manage to get to download mode thought
The device was running aberration rom and I was in the process of creating a back up via rom manager. When I gave it root access it rebooted and just stays in the gs2 screen
If ya need more info please let me know
