Hello Everyone,I was wondering if there is somewhere a Galaxy S3 i9300 Nandroid backups collection of Stock Firmwares. It would be nice and useful if someone wants to restore his phone bypassing Odin ^^
Nope
Then why not create one here on xda?

You do know that Nandroid backup does not only contain the stock firmware right? If we were to share our Nandroid backups then it'll be quite foolish of us if we do really do that

You can always do an advanced backup choosing what to and not to backup I think,or we can do nandroids with freshly installed stock firmware

Still no. Nandroids will still contain some personal files and information even if you do a custom one. Don't be too lazy and just use your own.

Post yours first .
Stock roms are usually available in cwm flashable zip format in several threads, so a nandroid of the same would not be useful and would probably contain some personal/phone specific data.
Not a good idea.

Precautions to take before rooting/Custom Roms

I rooted my Galaxy Note 2 and used an app from the app market for backing up the EFS, the app crashed in the middle and I ended up losing the EFS. Nothing worked and I had to take it to the service centre (thankfully I could remove the flash counter and make the status to official so they did it within warranty.)
I have exchanged the phone with my sibling, I have the s3 now. The battery life on the official UK 4.3 version (since it wasn't out for India yet) sucks(any. I would like to try custom Roms.
Kindly link me to any existing thread(I Couldn't find one) if its there.
What all precautions should I take?
1)Backup the stock ROM(using Titanium Backup?)
2)Backup EFS(using?)
Thanks in advance

you can use the hc-KTool to backup the efs, is easy to use and free downloads from the play store. backup the stock rom is a custom recovery such as CWM, Philz, TWRP.

another precaution may be, install the correct kernel for rom you wear. clear that if you change custom kernel. but just these two precautions, especially with having the efs backup.

but EFS backup would require root? And the root method available is for 4.1.2
Rooting and Custom Roms were so much more fun on the sk17i
