I have a TF201 which I bought while I was living in Japan. It is stock unrooted.
it seems to have an issue with the Wi-Fi never turning off when sleeping, and I would like to get the jelly bean update.,which I'm not sure if I will get if I'm no longer living in japan.
Can I flash to another rom version and then get an ota update without having to root or unlock my device?

It's definately possible, I don't have th recipe but I somehow managed to get the TW firmware on my WW prime. Just check the general section for threads on manual update and you'll fix it!

So i did the manual update to jelly bean 4.1.1 to my asus tf 201 while back and lost root
Now i realized how much I need root.
Whats the options I have to regain root?
I got US Variant locked bootloader
I think your only option is to unlock at this point. Stick androwook on there.

i got my Transformer Prime a couple days ago and it came on jelly bean 4.1.1 10.4.2.18 and the unlock tool apk does not seem to work on. i have rooted it already, is dat the reason the unlock tool does not work or does it just not work on the build number 10.4.2.18......Plz help
