Disable headphone mic - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I tried to search fort it, but actually couldn't find anything.
My In-ears have a build in microphone, but for some reason it won't work with my gs 2, however my phone turns off it's own build in microphone everything I have those in-ears plugged in.
I'm trying to find something to either enable the microphone of the phone again when there's a headset plugged in, or I need something to handle my headset as normal headphone without a Mic.
I would be more than happy if anyone got a solution.
Regards,
tr1cky

Hi guys,
after a lot of research I found a solution:
Download "Sound About" in the Play Store, tick "Wired Headset detection" and untick "Wired Headset microphone", this will ignore any microphone from a headset and use the build in microphone from the S2.
Just in case anyone has the same problem and needs a solution.

This app is not havin similar option for Bluetooth headphones. Do you know if there exists any app which can have similar function for Bluetooth headphones. I have a Bluetooth headphones and at times, want to disable headphone mic and use device mic while continuing to use headphones for audio output.

How Use internal phone mic on bluetooth

Hi,
I have samsung vibrant, and have car stereo with bt handsfree, the problem is that the microphone of the car stereo has bad quality, the other side can't hear me.
The vibrant's mic is very good even if the phone is far away
My question is how I can disable bluetooth mic and use the phone internal one? Only the audio from the phone will be routed to the car stereo?
I searched all over the net but nothing, just a lot that searching solution like me.
Searched in android api for microphone disable, there is only mute procedure, no route/disabling.
Maybe some hack, I played with audio service menu of the sgs not found something there
Don't want use aux port for this
Please developers put attention that thing is usefull for a lot of users
Thanks

Your best bet would be to check the Samsung Support or their Forums and search there.

Did you ever find a solution for this? I noticed that Moto Voice and the Google app allow for this, but I can't find a way to do this during phone calls.

Bluetooth audio in car

Hello,
I was wondering if maybe someone experiences the same or if someone has a solution for this.
When I drive I like to use TomTom Go on my phone as my main navigation, I don't like the car's navigation. I have a new Peugeot 308 SW and it has a large multimedia touch screen.
I enable bluetooth on my phone so that when I am called, the audio of the call goes through the car's audio system. This works great but because I am using bluetooth, the audio from the navigation is muted. Looks like the audio via bluetooth of TomTom Go (but also Google Maps) cannot communicate with my car's audio system. This is really annoying and the only way to get audio from TomTom Go is to disable the bluetooth and then I get audio through the phone's speaker, which is fine.
I tried an app called SoundAbout for Android and this gave me the option to route "media audio" via speaker. So I thought that I had found the solution, unfortunately it also routed phone call's audio through the speaker.
So, to summarize: does someone have an idea how I can enable bluetooth in my phone, use a navigation app (like TomTom Go) and hear the navigation's audio? I am fine if the audio is then through the phone's speaker, as long as the phone calls are through the car's audio.
Thanks for the help and Merry Christmas!

Hi,
I've checked all the settings, in TomTom, Google Maps and Bluetooth, nothing helps.
I've been reading some stuff online and it's a very common issue. I do read that people using an iPhone don't seem to have this issue.
In Google Maps' settings I've checked that audio goes through Bluetooth, but no success. I guess it also has to do with the software in my car. My colleagues have the same problem. I guess when I use TomTom and I want to hear turn-by-turn guidance, I will need to switch off Bluetooth.
I will keep looking for a solution and will reply here when I find it. I just installed A2DP Volume Androi app but haven't test it yet. The description sounds promising, I hope this helps me.
You can try different navigators, like igo, that can use alarm volume setting instead of app volume setting, and it can be seen by Bluetooth speaker

Thanks PeppeBove.
I have Google Maps, TomTom Go and Sygic, not really looking for another navigation app.
I will keep looking for a decent solution.
Thanks for your input!
What is your car audio system? If it's Sony's, you can use Songpal.
you can hear voice from phone through your car audio if you change input from radio to bluetooth.
#1 Set up can be:
CAR
Input: bluetooth
PHONE
play music by bluetooth,
use your navi, and music will automatically go quieter when navi speaks
#2 Another solution is:
PHONE
in app, in voice settings or bluetooth settings, set up "use phone speaker instead of bluetooth"
It will play navi by phone, and calls will be like always by car system.
You cannot mix inputs in car system, so radio and phone bluetooth. When you have call, your car system is changing inputs, but it take some time. So if you would like to play it like that, you will have 3 sec of every communicate cuted off. So better use, solution #1 or #2

LG V10 - Notification on the wrong audio path

Hi guys,
I noticed that don't matter what audio out you are using(Audio Jack, Bluetooth Headsets) the notifications always come out both on the mobile speaker and the audio out.
I believe that is not as intended, as when you are on Bluetooth headsets, you wanna hear notifications on the headsets, not on the Speaker, especially if you have something like Text to Speak or read notifications setup.
The only way around this that i found is to set the phone on silent when you put the headsets in, but it's not very intuitive.
Has anyone run into this problem? has anyone found a fix?
Kind regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
I have the same "issue". A search on the internet showed that this is no a special issue of the V10 but one of many phones. Seems to be a general issue with Android.
You can use the app "SoundAbout" from the PlayStore to solve this issue. A free version is available but to use all features you'll have to buy the pro version.
in the setup of the app you need to change the options for "Alert behavior". I set "Wired Headset behavior" and "Bluetooth (A2DP) behavior" to "Headset only (override)" and "A2DP only (override)" respectively. That worked for me. The speaker is now silent and notifications are played only via headset. The Bluetooth options are only available in the pro version, the wired headset can be changed in the free version.
but I agree that this is an issue which should be fixed by Google.
