Hi so many people are reporting the same issues and cluttering up the dev thread so this thread is now here.
Bugs :
Audio Distortion at high volumes(Solution use bass reducer as preset in dsp or lower volume)
Sent from my Amaze 4G using xda premium
Audio distortion
Slow launcher speed. I went into Dev settings and checked disable HW overlays and Force GPU rendering and it got a lot better. Although the app drawer Still doesn't feel as fluid as say, speed ROM or FB infusion. Have not tried editing the build.prop, though.
Oddly enough no audio problems to speak of.
Sent from my Amaze 4G using xda app-developers app
My main issue is sound. During calls, my phone speaker and also my sound when using speaker phone is VERY quiet even when turned all the way up.
Bluetooth, connects, plays music, can hear dialtones when calling, then nothing when on a call.
Other than that I"m having no issues...except angry Birds isnt working LMAO
i'm still having issues with the system not mounting my sd card.. i can reach it with the root explorer but no other apps can access it, and it wont mount in recovery or when i connect it to the computer, only internal storage is detected
Wallet not working
Even tho this is AOSP Google Wallet still isnt supported on the device...is there a build prop edit that might fix this as a workaround or perhaps a modified apk available somewhere?

I had the same issue, I had to reflash the ruu and the whole deal to get back to it working again :/ But its working great now
Stereo Bluetooth headset, plays music more crisp than sense roms ever did. However zero sound when making calls, and no mic pickup.
Also people I'm speaking too are hearing themselves echo pretty bad....
Fantastic rom, already my daily driver, but I use Bluetooth for like 90% of my calls. So hopefully we can smooth everything else out soon...
Oh, install was with full wipe (twice) and clean install.
Batery
battery! and the led light being green instead of orange/red when charging
System UI Freeze
sometimes when launching an app, the UI freezes up and I have to do a battery pull...any fix for this avalable?
Also my battery life is incredible even with hardware settings ramped up. Looks like a lot of people are getting different results.

My battery after the first flash went so fast it made me start checking to see if my phone was hearing up. However after a full cycle it tamed way out. Only lost 10% in a full workday, listening to music randomly through Bluetooth. Seems to die faster from the screen being on though (in comparison to speed rom).
That's with wifi & data turned off most the day.
I've come across a few other bugs or annoyances but I haven't had a lot of time to play with this latest build today, so I'll make a list. So far all I've found is the audio distortion (which lowering bass in DSP Manager didn't fix) and the flashlight toggle not turning on the flash.

I think the original comment was about not being able to mount external sd on a computer, plugged in via USB. Not an issue accessing through the phone. I haven't tried yet, but I always just pull the card out & pop it in my laptop with an sd adaptor.
Okay, I haven't let it through a complete cycle yet. Someone said to turn off Google now. Anyhow, thanks. I'm sure updates will follow soon.

PLEASE NOTE: FLASHING THIS ROM WILL MAKE YOUR PHONE USELESS AS AN ACTUAL PHONE. YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO MAKE PHONE CALLS WHILE RUNNING THIS ROM, AS ALL PHONE FUNCTIONS HAVE BEEN REMOVED. YOU BASICALLY HAVE A WIFI/BLUETOOTH ENABLED TOUCH SCREEN MUSIC PLAYER WITH THE ABILITY TO DOWNLOAD APPS/BROWSE THE WEB IF YOU SO CHOOSE TO.
With my purchase of the Galaxy Nexus, I found it hard to just toss my "Sexy Nexy" into her original box and into the closet where she'll likely never been seen again. Read someone suggesting using it for a dedicated music player, so I decided to do just that. After playing around with several other ROMs and just basically gutting them, I decided to just take a base ROM, "theme it", gut it, move a few things around and come up with my own Frankenstein of a ROM. Never used the Kitchen before, nor did I have any experience on what could and could not be removed, so after 2-days of trial and error, I finally got the results I was hoping for (still don't know which libs and such can be removed though). With that, I present to you...

Great Idea...I was thinking along the same lines, but didn't see the need to "gut" a ROM, since the music/etc. would be on the SD card anyway.

The main reason I saw to gut it was to try and improve battery life. Removing telephony and such that'll search for a cell signal will drain battery.

I was really interested in this ROM. My N1 is also my dedicated music player. Has development stopped? My only real beef with it was the few remaining visual aspects of it having been a phone. If I remember correctly it constantly reminded me it had no cell signal.
Maybe someone smarter than me could pick this up? It was a neat idea.

I've done quite a bit of development on the S3 over the last year or so and have learned a ton since releasing this (I knew nothing when I did this).
I currently use my N1 as a speedometer for my newest car purchase while I troubleshoot and fix it.
My point is, I may put something together to make it a dedicated music player and release it on here

I too don't use my N1 as a phone - well, actually I use skype now as my phone and people can only call me when I'm connected to wifi. Which means at home, at the office, or at a free wifi hotspot. Any other time you can't reach me, which suits me perfectly. Apart from skype, I only play music, so I'm curious about this ROM as well. Provided it can run skype as well as the music stuff, I'd try it.
The only thing putting me off it at the moment is that all those force closes tells me its probably not stable enough to use as a skype phone. But any further development (or a new music-focused ROM) would be interesting to try.

I just checked my dropbox account, which I haven't used it years, and it appears I deleted it. I have since built a completely new rig so my old files are gone.

I did something similar but I didnt create a mod mostly just showed how to take any phone and make it work as an mp3 player and get great battery life.
I'm still using the HTC Rezound as my primary music player and the battery life is still really good.

So, my wife had been using my Nexus as a speedometer because the one in her car went belly up for some reason. It's been in there for months.
I cleaned it off the other day and what do you know! The MelodyMod r2 file was still on the internal storage. It's what I've had running on the Nexus since I created it.
I've re-uploaded it, in case anyone is interested. I've had probably 4 or 5 PMs about this ROM randomly over the year, so I'm sure someone wants it.
Enjoy!

EDIT- Just an FYI, I am NOT supporting this ROM so please do not ask for updates or anything. It does work though, it's what is running on my Nexus now which like I said was being used for months by my wife for the speedometer app.

I actually think it happens when you're connecting to a tower I spent awhile looking at log cat -b radio logs and every time it would say something like trying to establish CDMA, then CDMA not supported, then something about missing event handler extended network or something close to that.. sorry I'm at work and will post them when I can.. it was spamming me pretty bad because I had really bad coverage so I assume it would trigger every time i would drop from one band to another or whatnot
Can you try something for me? Dial *#*#info#*#* then hit call. Hit phone information, then turn off radio..give it a couple seconds then turn it back on. Let me know if that triggers a crash.. I was able to replicate it consistently like that so wlim curious.
And personally I like aokp a lot better than cm.... I kind of liken cm to Debian... you know its tried and true, stable. Aokp on the other hand is like gentoo, tons of cool stuff to play with but sometimes the nifty toys don't work as they should.

Did it - yes it does trigger a crash.
Wow! This works a lil smoother than CM10 in my opinion... seems less buggy... feels good to have something other than sense in this phone... the true power of the dual core is easily shown with pure android ROMs...!

So it must be something with the RIL then? Or maybe the actual telephony apks but I doubt that as I tried many different variations...
I also resetting my APNs and configuring just a straight t-mobile one, exactly as specified on the t-mobile document. What it seemed like to me when I was looking at logcat -b radio logs during crashes was that it attempted to do something with CDMA, obviously doesn't support CDMA (If you try to create an activity using the Phone.apk using a CDMA function you'll get the same kind of crash) But I could be completely off base here but that's the only thing I saw in the logs that seemed like it could be the culprit... but honestly I don't know much about what belongs there and what doesn't... and the radio logs spit out an absurd amount of data.
It doesn't seem like much of an issue when you have a good signal to work with.. but trust me, it becomes very very annoying once you start bouncing around towers etc. Where I was at most of the night (sitting at around -111dbm most of the night) I would get strings of 15-20-30 crashes.... seems like when com.android.phone goes down, it's everything. In the logs you can see it actually brings all telephony associated stuff down as well.. so your completely disconnect... and I think some times it gets stuck in a loop (because the crash itself seems to trigger when you are reconnecting)
I'll try to get a solid logcat and the radio part of it as well here pretty soon.

What is Evervolv?
Evervolv is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) rom. We're fully open sourced and encourage it with no restrictions. The work put into this ROM is community driven and Evervolv Project is made up of numerous members and contributors.
Right now the current source we are working on is KitKat (Android 4.4.x).
Current Evervolv version: 4.0.0b1
Installation
If coming from another ROM, you will need to wipe!
Download ZIP
Flash in recovery.
To enable GSM, download the GSM zip below and flash in recovery.
Note: If you have flashed the GSM zip and wish to go back to CDMA, download and flash the CDMA zip in recovery.
If S-ON:
Extract the boot.img from the zip file
then flash in fastboot with the command below:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Changing runtime from Dalvik to Art
Art is experimental, but if you wish to try follow the below instructions:
flash the rom (If you have already installed the standard gapps for Dalvik, you will need to wipe first.
boot and change the runtime to Art (settings -> developer options)
Let the phone rebot and do it's thing
Once rebooted, boot into recovery and flash the Banks gapps provided below
Working
Everyting regarding the phone's operation should work. Calls, data, wifi, camera, camcorder, video & bluetooth (calling and a2dp) etc.
Not working
Camcorder will take a few seconds to start recording.
Camcorder will stop working if used repeatedly, you will know it's not working if it starts "recording" immediately (reboot to fix)
You tell me?

Have you ran it for a bit @kkozma? How's battery life, I know its been poor in some 4.4.2 builds for the Rez.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Poor battery life with the Rezound is just a fact of life... I know that switching to Art DOES increase battery life, but there are issues with Art that really make it not that great for a daily driver.
I've noticed a few graphics issues in this rom that we don't have in CM, so I'm going to have to investigate that a bit, but otherwise it's been pretty stable.
Netflix hack posted in 2nd post. Tested and working.
Nice job. Thanks!!!!!

So your saying that the battery life is as "typical" on KitKat with the Rezound as any other ROM?
Also, what issues have you noted with ART that might effect it being a daily driver? I use ART on my Nexus 4 and it is trouble free... What do you see as the reason ART couldn't be a dd ROM in this case?
Can someone post a screen shot of this once it is installed? Please
@kkozma ROM seems really smooth. YouTube, BT streaming and calls, and camera functions all work well with dalvik runtime. As you mentioned ART does seem to have issues at times.
Great job on the build - look forward to testing it out more as a DD.

Will post some screen shots shortly... Pretty plain jane, so not sure what your looking for.
One thing I noticed, from the home screen if you press Menu -> Settings nothing happens, no menu, pressing Settings from App screen works fine. Also, if you press Wallpaper from Menu on Home screen you get "Launcher3 has stopped" (Nevermind, it just didn't like the fact I had the SD card mounted as USB Storage, once I turned it off, it was fine). Just starting to play around, haven't even flashed Gapps yet.
EDIT: some basic screen shots attached, not much to see though
EDIT2: Gapps installed (Banks), base configuration, and some basic apps installed (Play Store didn't reinstall apps coming from LiquidSmooth) and ran it through some everyday stuff... Exchange email, WiFi Hotspot (tried Nexus 4, HP laptop, XBox360 all successful), media playback, Chrome, Google Maps, etc. all working fine, no issues of any kind so far other than the Menu->Settings things I mentioned above. Going to give it a run this week and see what happens... nice work @kkozma and the rest of the devs. :good:
EDIT3: Added a screen shot from after I configed with basic apps I use, a few widgets, and gapps... in case someone was interested.

The ONLY think I found that isn't working is when you press Menu->Settings it does nothing, but accessing settings from the pull-down or app menu works fine.
Battery life is average, not terrible, but not great. Memory management and usage is amazing, and I am running with close to 400MB free on a regular basis.
FYI to others... this ROM is plain jane, there isn't any fluff at all, it is as very basic and has few tweaks and settings but that is by design. That isn't a bad thing but if you are used to Tachyon, Carbon, or others it might seem like something is missing, but it isn't, just be aware you will have to add the apps and stuff you want/need that are anything beyond the core of Android. Out of the box there is barely one full page of apps and only basic widgets, so you will probably need some lockscreen and widget add-ons as well if you are used to other ROMs.
All and all, for the first full blown KitKat release for the Rezound, this is a stable, usable basic ROM... I whole-heartedly recommend this ROM.
Will continue to use this as my DD, if I run across anything I will share.

Thanks for the glowing review! If it means anything to anyone else. I've installed this on my wife's Rezound and she has no complaints. She's as big of a technophobe there is, so I'd say that's also a good sign. Haha!
How about mounting the SD Card for USB mass storage? I wasn't able to get that going on mine and I saw someone in the CM thread with the same issue... I think it's probably something in the mount points, but I'm chicken to mess with that stuff!

It worked fine for me, but I did have to turn it on manually from the dropdown menu.
Edit: now that I think about it, all I did was access the internal storage to grab my screen shots, I didn't try to actually access the SD card, I will give that a shot when I get back to the office.

Ok, I just tested GSM with my AT&T sim card and it did not work. It's possible it was caused by something I missed in one of the config files to build with. I have corrected that and am re-building now.
Does built in wireless hotspot work without hotspot subscription check on vzw?

Thanks for the heads up. I do not have an active sim card for my device so I never thought to checkout the baseband. I'll see what I can find.

I managed to install and boot without errors however.....
The software (android) is for a CDMA phone and I cannot get mobile network or APN to work on my GSM phone

Confirmed.No audio
Only Baseband not working
Thank you very much for the initiative and works. Everything is working okay. However, My SIM is not detected.
BASEBAND Version: I717UCMD3
Baseband not working
Baseband is not working for me too. Apart from that it looks stable and solid!
Sound not working
Great work done! We are making a lot of progress. No screen flickers. Gapps flashed without issues. Data works. Calls are fine. However, music plays but with no sound. I later had random reboots. Thanks a million!
reboots
Sound doesn't work but calls are fine and I had a few reboots.. I am really in love with theme engine and this build doesn't have it. I am hopeful we will have that working soon.
It is running very well however I getting reboots every time the device tries to 'sleep' or if I press the power button to lock it. Data and audio appear to be fixed. Great great great job!!
Does this Slim Build support Layers?

Also I am noticing that audio for phone calls is working fine but it is silent for Spotify, Amazon MP3, etc. Looking great though!!!
Same here audio played for a few seconds and then quit. I tried a few music apps and they all do the same. The phone rebooted once and that was right after the first boot since then no reboots. So far everything else is working good. I did a clean install
Internal Storage
I using a rom "Slim-quincyatt-5.0.2.alpha.0.91-UNOFFICIAL-20150216-2356", but has a two internal storage: 1.97gb and a 10.82gb the apps install in 1.97gb. I like a full storage. ¿solution of combine two partition?
PD: I dont have a sdcard

1.97gb is the system partition. 10.82 is the internal SD card of your phone. This is as close as you'll get to a single storage solution on the i717.

i just wanted to tell you that i installed the rom and it is great but the audio is also not working for me at all. everything else i use regularly is working flawlessly.
ok i have played around more with it. phone calls are not working for me. basically anything that requires audio seems to crash. I called myself from my work phone and tried to answer it and the phone rebooted. i tried youtube and bandcamp and a few other websites that play audio. youtube crashed the browser and pressing play on bandcamp does nothing. texts and emails and everything else seem rock solid.
I did a clean install from your twrp.

Why yes indeed they do & I should mention that in my OP. You all can use RRO for my slim builds. Just google it and you'll love it. I bet Mr Dparrothead1 is already familiar with RRO tho? lol

I know that you are working on it! in the developers thread you asked for testers and since i have less than 10 posts it made me post in this thread.
I had to restore my backup and go back to my old DD. By the end of the day this rom became very sluggish. The browser and facebook messenger kept crashing after a minute or so of use.
Also I was unable to record video of any kind. camera worked fine, but video would not record.
The flashlight didn't work when pressing the icon in the pulldown.
hope that helps, im looking forward to using this as my daily and will keep testing your builds.
New Build Feedback
I flashed the new build and the OK google functionality was lost as well as all audio. The design is friggin awesome, just a few more tweeks and it should be fine. I flashed the previous build after the new one, clean of course, and OK Google functionality was still lost. Keep up the good work and thank you for a glimpse of Lollipop.
is this rooted?
Hello there,
I have had my Find N2 (fold) for about a week now and all has been going well until the last 24 hrs or so...
I am in Australia on the Telstra network and have 2 Telstra sims in the phone both that have been working fine up until now..
The issue is that as of past 24 hrs or so the phone can make and receive calls (on either sim) but the calls always drop out after about 2-3 seconds..
You can hear and speak to the other person but only for a very brief moment before the call drops out.
This is the same for receiving calls not just me dialing out.
The first week or 10 days the phone didn't have this issue and worked fine... its only in the past 24 hours
I did a full factory reset and it was working fine again but now about 24 hrs latter same issue!!
I did try putting in a different sim (Vodafone) and it does the same thing - so doesn't appear to be network related...
Some setting in the phone perhaps???
Any suggestions to help would be most welcome..
Thanks
Frosty
I seemed to have worked out what the issue was...
I use the phone for personal and work thus the 2 sims - my work email requires me to setup a work profile which the app Microsoft Intune does.
When I have the 'Work" apps enabled this makes the phone calls not work (as per my above issue)
When the "work" profile is disabled all calls work normally - luckily its a simple one button click to disable and enable the work profile - so I just leave it disabled most of the time and just enable it when I need to check work emails.
This might help someone else one day if they have the same issue.

That's interesting. Oppo just pushed an update (A.35) to my N2 and coincidentally listed as one of the fixes is: "Fixes an issue that might cause your device to drop calls in certain scenarios".
How are you finding the N2 so far? Anything in particular stand out, and do you have any general tips or hacks you've done that you like?
I am really enjoying the N2 - it does take some time to uninstall the Chinese apps (the ones that you can uninstall that is) configuring the Work profile took a few try's to get that going.
I still don't get all the notifications I would like - like from my eufy security cameras but luckily the notifications do come through to my Garmin Venu 2+ watch so I can see them that way.
I find the factory email app work pretty well so I use that one for my personal emails.
WhatsApp, Facebook and Facebook messenger also work well and get notifications.
You can install and use custom icons which is nice since other launchers won't work properly.
Battery life is excellent easily getting 24-30 hours.
The form factor is excellent!
Cheers

Thanks -- I am also very impressed with the battery life. Where did you find new icons? On the oppo theme store?
On the notification front I only need gmail and whatsapp at the moment and get them consistently enough (though sometimes I notice gmail takes a bit of time).
And yes, agreed, the form factor is great. It took a while to get used to the weight of the phone, but now that I am I'm loving it. It really is a perfectly sized mini tablet, too, and I'm glad it opens into landscape because if I'm opening it, for my use case, I'm almost always wanting the app to open in landscape mode (and the layout differences that entails) and not portrait mode. Having to rotate the phone every time I unfolded it would be quite annoying.
Re the stock Chinese apps, yes, many of them can't be uninstalled or disabled. So I just put them all in an "Oppo" folder and forgot about them lol

Did your A.35 update affect your inner screen layout like the Oppo Find N owners are discussing?
Interesting that after installing the latest .35 update on my N2 that the issue of calls dropping out when using the work profile appears to have gone So this is good.
Does anyone have the English translation of what the .35 update did - the change log only shows in Chinese.
Apart from my call issue been fixed I haven't noticed anything else with the 900+meg update.
For getting different icons on the N2 I just downloaded some of my favourites from the Play Store - you apply them by pressing on a blank spot on your screen and selecting "icons" and the new ones will appear there to use.
I didn't notice any affect to the inner screen layout with the .35 update.
Cheers
Frosty

Very good, glad to hear that. I feel better to proceed with the update.
