From my recent trip

Wow...I have no pictures to show because I have yet to get the DNA, but these look amazing! Much better than my Droid RAZR camera. Even more the reason to switch!

Here's mine.. could post fix the pic a little but still pretty respectable for a camera phone .

How are finding color reproduction? Do greens look a bit too bright, with a yellowish tint?

Please post picture taken at night or at low light. thanks in advance

these pics are great, guys! what camera settings do you tend to use? i don't like the fact that auto enhance is always on with the DNA.

Can't you uncheck Auto Enhance?

I love the camera on this phone. Definitely one of my favorite features of it.

I like the camera as well. My only (small) gripe is a strange green color. Below are two pictures, both from DNA. The color on this one is great:
And on this one it's questionable (it's December and the color is like fresh young grass that just sprung up in May) :

Green tint when using low brightness

Apparently the pre release models are having lag and also when setting screen on low will make the screen look green. Is everyone.else getting this?
Sent from my XT910 using XDA App
Me to. The guy at vzw said all the ones he sold looked like this ..........
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA App
Its nothing durastic, just a slight but noticeable tint.... anyone else
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA App
Im not getting any lag though ...

I ordered mine on Friday and received it today. I notice a slight tint as well but this phone is ninja fast.
Mine is plenty fast as well but they didn't have any razors on display for me to look at another razor's color. Def will check out tomorrow asap
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA App
No tint here just brilliant vibrant colors
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
On Facebook, a couple of users posted they DO have the tint when the phone is ser on low brightness. Others said they don't have anything like that.
Its a bit of a confusion out there. Some have it, some don't...phew...
No lag at all for me. No tint either and I'm on auto/low brightness.
If it means anything my first razr the colors went whack while I was watching a movie. The blacks went purple and the brightness was permanently set to the Max. Tried a reset, blah blah but it was a defective screen. New one looks beautiful tho!!

Very different picture results, same lighting/settings in camera

Hello People,
So I just took a picture of the room I'm in and in the first shot I got this.
Came out nice right? I decided the picture was a little tilet so I took another shot, without changing a single setting and got this:
Why is the first one so nice and rich but the second one is all washed out?? I can't for the life of me get the camera to take another picture that looks like the first one. Does anyone have any ideas what's going on here and how I can replicate the initial results?
That's the white balance setting kicking in. The first time it thought you were outside so it changed the white balance for daylight. The second time it realized you were inside so it adjusted it for incandescent lighting. I've only noticed it switch between those two, so if you want a better picture select it yourself.
Go to menu>white balance>and change 'auto' to the best setting for whatever room you are in.
Ha thanks! THat was it! Although, leaving it on auto gives the washed out picture. Changing it to "daylight" while inside gives the nice deep color
That "rich" color you are referring to is totally off and looks horrible! The second one is correct, notice that the whites are actually white??? The Daylight setting is overcompensating a yellow filter to correct the blue cast that would be there if you were outside in the sun like the setting indicates...
I have to agree with jsls

+2 The 2nd photo has a more natural balance to it. If your using AWB....dont. Auto anything never gives consistent results.

Yes, that first pic is atrocious...as was said, your white balance got corrected for the second shot.

Also the chandelier is in only one shot.

To get the results it seems that you want just use a sepia filter and it will give it that warm look. If you want a "correct" picture the second one is the way to go however. If you like the look then go with it.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Yeah I think you might be a little color blind, because the second pic looks so much better. The color actually stand out. The whites are white not yellow like the first pic. And look at the computer screen, the colors look good.
I like the first one cause it looks like it was taken back in 1912 and sat on the old print out paper in my grandma's closet till this morning.
Dude really?
Let me clarify if you have a light source in shot the auto adjustment will kick in.

I'm not *****ing lol why does everyone assume it?
And I'm just making a point.... the different angles and lighting will cause different lighting effects with "auto" settings

Anybody having bad photo quality?

Just wonder if my Butterfly is having camera faulty or I'm just being too picky?
The picture came out of the camera looks a lot diff then wat I see on the screen b4 the shoot. And most of the time the picture is wash out and has less contrast.

It'd probably be best to post this in the section for your phone.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Ate you using the sense camera or the aosp 4.3 one? The sense takes good picks make sure your settings say full size and make sure you took off the camera lens cover if your phone is new (a lot of people miss that lol). The 4.3 camera takes horrible pics but makes great photospheres.

Using the Sense camera, and nothing stick on the lens.
But the photo does looks wash out...

Here do this before you take the pic hold power of plus volume down or will take a screenshot then take the pic and post both in this thread so we can compare, is it in low light?
Sent from my VIPER DNA EDIT: o god just got on my pc and saw how horrendous that looks lol. What i want you to do is hold power and volume down at the same time, to take the screen shot.
Will try and get a subject to shoot and post here.

Poor Camera

I know the hardware of the camera in the G2 is supposed to be great, and people are raving over it, but coming from the Note 2, and even looking at my wife's GS3, I'm not a fan. Does anyone else experience the extremely poor auto focusing, and the ghosting when moving the camera to get your shot? I'm not well versed in the world of photography, and I like how dummy proof the Note 2 made things. If your subject moves (and seeing as mine is a 13 month old, she's always moving), the pics come out very poorly. With the quick auto focusing on the Note 2, great pics weren't a problem.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Something I should try differently? I want to keep this device, but this problem will have me returning and waiting for the Note 3 or even heading to the dark side (and I REALLY don't want to), the iPhone 5S.
I have definitely noticed that this phone's camera doesn't like it when you're moving the phone or taking a picture of something that's moving. It's always disturbingly blurry when I move the camera around. However, stills look pretty great. The camera wasn't a huge selling point of the phone for me so I'm not too worried about it but I hope when we get custom ROMs developers will include better camera apps.

You're right - maybe there will be better camera apps when the custom ROMs hit. I'm willing to donate for that, no prob. I love everything about this device with the exception of that. I tried to install the GS3/Note 2 camera apk, but it wouldn't work sadly.
Change the iso. The HDR is incredible on the G2.

Never mind I found it..lol

This has an amazing camera on it.
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk 4
Coming from a Note 2 and S4, I've found the camera on the G2 to be much better in both normal and HDR modes.
I had some poor auto focus shots at first until I realized all the smudges on the camera lens from learning to locate the rear buttons appropriately.

This is truly a great pic. And I agree it is a great cam, which is why I'm bummed I'm getting poor pics. I think my biggest problem is how slow it is to focus. The picture is gone by the time it does.
The camera on the G2 is amazing. I am very impressed.

Did you change it from 10 mega pixel to 13? I know it made a difference when I changed it.
Sent from my LG-D801 using xda app-developers app
Some Times auto focus does take longer than usual but I must say coming from a note 2 and lumia 928 this camera trumps them both easily. Try sports mode for the kids.it worked very well in my niece today! You won't get the low light sensitivity though.

whites are way too over exposed on the camera. the detail is good, but the over exposure is just awful. the sky will never come out blue, unless pointed directly at it.

HTC m8 exposure problems

Hey do you guys think HTC will eventually update the camera to fix its red I cultus exposure problems? In daylight, it overexposes and in low light it underexposes. This is my only real problem with the camera( aside from res)
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app
Enough complaints should do the trick, every review you read online clearly states it. Let's hope so..
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app
Exposure does suck. HTC, you reading this?

Example shots? Just curious I dont see it in the daylight or dusk photo's
Found this but I always tap to focus in pics and usually they come out really nice...
