I9300 - No find Networks - IMEI Correct - HELP! - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I bought this S3 in Lituania as a "No Signal" phone hoping that it would work in SPAIN.
I have switched it on today, trying with my own sim and after enter the PIN I see "Only emergency calls". I have uptaded it to the 4.1.2 JB but same result.
Checking the locked status I see all OFF. I rooted and installed the Voodoo Unlocked and same result "Unlocked phone" but no network.
The IMEI is the same in the phone than in the back so It doesn´t look like a IMEI issue...
I applied the ariza_v04.zip patch with same result...
I can see the SIM contacts and the phone recognize my SIM number, I mean in settings I can see my phone number...
More info, when I try to select manualy my network, it doesn´t find any!
Could you please help??
Thanks thanks so much!

I have just flashed a new Modem with same result
Any idea???

Why is it sold as a no signal phone ???? Hardware i would guess .

Download a stock rom say the new 4.1.2 then go into recover make all wipes. After you have done, while in recovery move it down to chose from sd and don't click anything. Now hold Power + Volume down + Home all at the same time till you go into download mode connect your phone and flash stock unrooted firmware on your phone..
When finished start the phone if there is no signal then download CF Root which Chainfire made and root your phone and download GetRil from android market and see if your modem is matching it will tell you your recommended modem find and download it. Then match the ril if that doesn't work sorry mate you might have a blocked IMEI or a bad phone..

Try with another SIM.

May be the antenna has any problem?
Any other ideas?

IF you have emergency calls available - that would mean the phone has some network in range. Therefore, I doubt if this is antenna issue.

Thread moved to Q & A section, post in the relevant section next time.

Have you tried different SIM cards?
Do emergency calls work? If so your number is blocked. It may be a stolen phone.

Well... news!
I went to the Samsung SAT and... the phone has NO ANTENNA! But not only this, it hasn´t the antenna plug!!
So I guess that if I want to fix it I should:
1- Solder any antenna or any antenna plug and then connect an antenna (too dificult I think...).
2- Find this silicon chip replacement (It´s where the usb dock and the camera conects to). But, where?! I tried but I don´t find it...
Any other idea?
Thanks!!

Can anyone help? Thanks!!

Yes I went and they said that they only can change the whole motherboard as the phone is defective.
The phone is not brand new so they cannot change it for a new one...
I have no idea what to do...

You probably bought one of those stolen display ones. They don't have a network chip at all.

Not registered on network, again

This thread is outdated and not related to the new problem with EFS coruption. Solutions proposed here wont help you if you lost your network after downgrading a ROM from MF6 to earlier.
Ok it's not the first thread about this but no one seems to have an answer. I'm trying again.
I flashed a custom ROM on a friend's phone i9300. After the flash the phone keep saying "Not registered on network". I tried everything I know.
I changed modem
I changed ROM (3X) (with full wipe)
I returned to stock
I installed GetRil (changed the baseband)
I installed Galaxsim (phone already unlock)
when I try to set the APN I get a message "registered on network" but when I do a phone call I got "Not registered on network"
Is there anyone who knows any way to solve this problem?
New sim? What all works?

Get a new sim from your carrier. Either your sim tray is broken or your sim card is. Sim card is cheap/free to replace so try that first.

sounds like (both of you) your EFS folder is corrupt - the only way i've read of repairing it is to have a back up. service center for repair is the only option AFAIK.
The IMEISV means nothing, don't even worry about it. Know what you're talking about before you blurt out crap.

Usual suspects .
Sim you tried another .
Sim carrier unusual to be damaged .
IMEI wrong .
No phone number details standard with many roms .
Network details not entered or incorrect or wrong CSC .
Wrong modem unlikely .
Best to restore phone to original firmware .

First I restored the phone with the nandroid backup I made just before flashing. (still not register on network)
Then I restored the phone to stock Samsung with Odin (still not register on network)
The IMEI is still there(most thread I read with this problem people lost their IMEI)
The phone can connect to the network because it can retreive the time from the network.
If I make a network operator search it finds China Unicom(This is my sim card) and when I choose it it says "register on the network" but as soon as I try to call, I get the "not register on network" again.
I thought the IMEI might be block as it might be a stolen phone but I made a search on two IMEI database and it says CLEAR.
I flashed 3 Asian modems( I used to have a S3 I know the XXELJ2 was working with my sim card) and same result.
Have you tried flashing a different modem to your device and reporting the problem to your provider.
May sound obvious but the provider's logs may clearly show what is wrong and they can report it back to you.

anyway, tried this metod too now, and still the same ~
Hey guys, had a very similar problem to kremata (everything in EFS folder seemingly ok (IMEI and S/N were fine)), and for me it got fixed by applying Azira's Patch ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918601 ).
However this solution only works by rooting and if you try to return it to stock it will reverse to being a 500$ PDA sadly.
In any case, the phone is now fully functional (calling/SMS/mobile data).

[Q] "Not registered on network"

Hello there,
A few weeks ago I was trying out different custom roms on my galaxy s3, and I somehow managed to **** something up and my IMEI number got changed to something like 00400001234. I kept getting "Not Regitsrred on Network" error if I tried to make calls. So I took it to a repair shop and paid £25 to get it fixed
It got fixed and the imei number went back to normal - I could make calls again!
I then did efs, nandroid and titanium backups and then flashed foxhound rom, but again I get the "not registered on network" error. So I restored the backup, but it still says the error. I tried a different backup and still it cant connect to network :crying:
What I tried to fix this:
- turning it off for a while then back on
- manually trying to connect to my network
- manually enterring APN details
- ate a bagel
- factory reset / data wipe
- I followed all the guides I could find on this site and used the search function extensively! the last thread i read was this one but the guy couldn't find a solution other than taking it to a shop
I think I have only these options:
1) try to fix it myself maybe flashing a different radio, CSC, or something (?)
2) take it back to repair shop and pay another £25
I read somewhere that the method the shop uses to 'fix' the phone means that you cant install custom roms. is this true?
As you can probably tell, I am a novice at this kinda thing and so it's very frustrating cos I cant understand how to fix this =/
Thankyou
A guess is that you flashed custom rom and either have no CSC wrong CSC or wrong modem for your network . Or EFS folder is damaged .
Possible solution restore original rom via .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1978840
Then test .
jje
so is the imei there?
yes the IMEI on the phone matches the one printed under the battery
thanks for the link. i'm trying to use kies now to fix it, but it's saying my device firmware version is not supported to update via kies. not sure what this means cos i flashed the stock rom already =/
Trying flashing the stock modem if it's not already, I too got same problem and then flashed the stock modem for my rom/country and it worked

i would like to try flashing a new modem/csc but i dunno where to find those seperate files. do you have a link to where i can download the unbranded UK one?
ive just flashed another rom with odin (UK unbranded BTU 4.0.4), and now i'm getting a different error. the phone now says 'mobile network not available' and there are no mobile networks showing when i try to search for them. i am no longer seeing the 'not registered to network' error
i'm still getting the error message in kies saying my firmware is not compatible too =/
dunno if this helps, but when i dial *#1234# it shows this information:
AP: I9300XXBLG8
CP: I9300XXLG8
CSC: I9300XABLG8
what does it all mean =S
edit: okay, i've just been down to the store where i originally bought the phone from. i had one of their sales guy snap a picture of the firmware version info screen. for comparison i've included a screenshot of my s3's info:
i.imgur.com/SQ19c17.png
my plan is to try and locate this specific firmware and flash it onto my device in hopes it will fix it =<
does anyone know where i could find this specific firmware?

the console text says it has applied CSC-code "CYO"
ive managed to find the correct firmware now, so that it matches the stock s3, but yet my problem still remains =/ once again it is giving me the 'not registered on network' error
dont know what else to try now =/
maybe the CSC code is incorrect, and changing it would fix my issue?
CSC has nothing to do, since your phone is unlocked. It depends on the network, whether GSM or UMTS.
Try this firmware for the CSC CYO:
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/190153878/49a62fc/I9300XXELLA_I9300OXXELL1_CYO.zip.html
1- Make sure to flash using Odin 3.07. Find it in the forums. To flash, you must enter the download mode. Switch off the phone, then Vol Down + Home + Power.
2- After flashing and rebooting the device, when the logo is shown, remove the battery and reinsert it.
3- Enter the recovery mode using (Vol Up + Home + Power).
4- Choose "Wipe factory settings".
5- Reboot the device.
6- Enjoy.
Being in an area with weak network coverage can cause continuous error like "Not registered on network". Therefore, after flashing, try forcing the network into GSM via "Setting -> More Settings -> Mobile Networks -> Network Mode -> GSM Only".
This shall work fine with you
well thanks for trying, but that didn't work either. i followed the steps exactly and i still get 'not registered on network' error =/
this is so frustrating

yes the phone was bought from carphone warehouse (UK) and was already unlocked out of the box
also, no i have not tried another sim
i've just uses kies to find the exact firmware i need (entered the model + serial number) and flashed it... but, still i get 'not registered on network' error, despite having full 5 bars signal
i dont know what else could cause this. the firmware is correct, imei number is correct, everything is back to stock.. so why am i still seeing this error? :crying: ive run out of ideas now! well, unless the 'custom binary counter' stops the phone working if you flash it too many times (???) i really dont know what else to try

Unlocked i527, IMEI Unknown? How Do I Recover?

I recently rooted my i527 then unlocked it for use on T-Mobile, And it was working just fine, Getting Signal and EDGE, So earlier this morning I took out my sim card and rebooted the phone a few times, Changing the APN from epc.tmobile.com to fast.tmobile.com thinking that was going to get me from going from EDGE to 4G or LTE... Yeah Right! Little did I know, It requires a lot more than just changing the APN.. But thats beside the point.
Anyway, While I was taking my sim out and rebooting, After once or twice of doing this, The phone would not come up with T-Mobile signal AT ALL. After a while of just blankness it would pick up What Im guessing is WCDMA signal or something, But not T-Mobile Active signal like it was doing just fine before. So after 20 or so reboots (thinking that was the problem), And looking around, I noticed that the phone is not issuing a IMEI number. Not in settings, and not *#06# either. The IMEI number has been lost. When I go to settings to view it in About Device it just says "Unknown". I'm assuming this is my problem, Once I get the phones IMEI number back, It will pick up T-Mobile signal again.
At the beginning of this, I was simply trying to get high speed data on the device.. Now I can't even make and receive phone calls. :crying: Any help on how to recover the IMEI would be great, and highly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi to all on xda!
I have recently bought GT-I9300 from friend. When he wanted to sell to me he updated to 4.1.2 stock rom but after update he got error no sim. Now i'm trying to fix it for me. I don't know what version was before but now is XXEMG4. I've checked everything on phone and everything is fine (imei, s/n, wifi, gps..). I done update via odin once again and that pass well but the problem stays. I think maybe sim card get locked. I read over forum that i can unlock sim via *#197328640# but when i select [6] NETWORK LOCK i get error (menu not exist..). I read that i need 4.1.1 stock for this command and if this is xxemg4 update efs is v2 so i can't go back to 4.1.1, right? Can anyone help me? Please...
*UPDATE*
When i go to recovery mode on screen is this:
# MANUAL MODE #
-- Appling Multi-CSC...
Applied the CSC-code : ALB
Successfully applied multi-csc
but my csc is MSR, that rom i installed. Can this be reason for no sim issue?
Network lock is not responsible for no sim message, that's usually due to a faulty sim card or card reader.
Try your sim in another phone and another sim in your phone.
You can't go back to pre EMG rom, the csc is unimportant, there is currently no way to network unlock your phone without a valid unlock code.
All the above is already posted many times, please search instead of creating new threads.
i have searched for this problem but i found only similar topics not same as mine. I have signal so i dont think it is modem faulty also my sim card works on another s3...

In that case if you have read the faqs then you need a service centre repair .
Or simply pay for the network unlock as you have been instructed to .

Create a backup...
flash a custom rom...
if problem persists then it may be a hardware issue

How on earth does that answers the question posted .
I have tried couple of patched modems but cant solve problem. When i flash patched MG4 modem then i dont have imei and s/n is wrong and instead showing some signal as did it before now is crossed circle icon. I tried that to restore efs backup but imei still was null/null. Then i flashed rom again and imei returns also s/n and no sim card error.
When i try to call then i get message "Not registered on network"...
Take it to a service centre, you won't fix it yourself.

Basically they meant two things.
1. They dun want to repair it for u. They can. But dun wan to.
2. Apparently they said ur friend updated the software and spoilt it. Which they can and SHLD solve since its their fault.

Give a thank if i helped you.
They also want to repair for 200 euro!!!??? Replacing motherboard and sim card reader. Why they want to replace it if it is software error?
User flashing error, not covered by warranty.

The reason is that it has failed warranty status .
Due to wrong firmware but more often phone is rooted or had custom rom and signs have not been removed .
Samsung's warranty is not the sellers warranty and they have a much stricter policy .

I will let you know when i try. I hope too because it also error me no sim card....
No, same error. I will try 4.3 version now...
i found this service manual: http://mobilcoms.ru/load/1-1-0-4505
Has anyone know how i can check voltage on R324 (pdf 08-... page 12)? It is under sim/sd card module. Do i need just battery or i need sim and to turn on phone? Has anyone tried this?
I officially announce that my i9300 is fixed. Problem was in sim card slot (some pins were bent). I take apart my phone i start inspecting it. Checked everything from service manual and it was fine but after i remove sticker on sim card slot i saw that one pin is bent (Vcc) so i use small needle and gently rise that contact up. One side of contact is soldered so you must bent up behind solder. i reassemble phone and power on i waiting for result...No service, ok this is normal, as every time so next is no sim error but then signal bar started showing some reception and SMS from carrier started comming. Problem was in sim card slot....200E saved . Thread can be closed!

[Q] Not registered to network

Hi all,
first post so be gentle with me.
OK, heres my situation... I had CM11 ROM installed, I woke up one morning to find my device wouldn't turn on, ahh just a flat battery I thought... nope, after hours of charging it just still wouldn't come up. I managed to get it into download mode and restore the ROM. In doing this it changed its IMEI to 0049... and wiped the serial number. I work in IT, so I spent hours and hours trying to fix it myself but I had to surrender and take it to a Samsung Service Centre local to me. £35 later they have restored my IMEI and serial number, awesome... I can carry on using my phone again after using a bog standard £9.99 Classic style Nokia :good:.... NOPE....
It now indicates that a SIM card is inserted, and registers to the network (EE), but I do not get mobile data connectivity!!!??? I try to dial out, but I get "Not registered to network".
My Device Status reads:
Network: Unknown
Mobile Network Type: HPSDA
Service State: Out of Service
Mobile Network State: Disconnected
This is on a stock ROM restored using Kies:
Basband Version: I9300XXUGMK6
CSC: I9300OXAGMK6
Does anyone know of a quick easy way to fix this, or do I just go back to the phone repair shop make out they haven't fixed it properly making them get it working!?
Many thanks in advance
James

Thanks KSKHH, I have installed MG4 modem through recovery as you suggested. Baseband now reads: I9300XXEMG4
However, I still am facing the same problems. Any other suggestions?
thanks
James
Take it back and get them to finish the repair.

Download a compatible firmware from sammobile and install thru odin.
Odin installation instruction should be available in youtube.
i managed to resolve this myself, by flashing a patched version of MK6.
I'll provide a link to where I found the patches shortly
thanks all

This means your efs is not compatible with v2 firmware and you will have the same problem with every update in future. If you paid samsung to fix the efs then they should do it properly.
