All issues from X are fixed in X+? - HTC One X+

Question to X+ users.

Name some of the issues
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2

Probably most issues are fixed. That is what I have inferred from reading forums. Battery life is better, it is not getting as hot during charging. WiFi antennae should be fixed.
But there are regressions too. Excellent camera of One X got downgraded to just above average camera in One X+.
See here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34612484&postcount=52
and look at the whole thread too.
http://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=3&idPhone1=4976&idPhone2=4320&idPhone3=4238
For example see region with grayscale image of boats.

Weird.
X+ has a diffrent sensor?

Also, you're asking owners of the HoX+ on the HoX forums, the people who probably aren't going to pay for a minimal upgrade.. I doubt many have both the HoX and HoX+ to know the issues on both and if they are fixed or not.

Engadget Review of One X+

Hi all. Engadget has just released their review of One X+. Just wanted to share.
http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/31/htc-one-x-plus-review/
They basically say;
- Sense has improved and runs a bit smoother.
- Front camera has drastically improved.
- Battery life is same as One X.
- There is only one color option which is black matte.
- Photo and video quality is same as One X and they think it lags behind the competition.
- The processor is faster and it shows itself in real world usage.
- Camera lens is still prone to scratch.
- Taking photos is even faster.
- Volume is significantly higher with Beats Audio enabled.
and so on...
So basically not really worth upgrading once the one x receives jelly bean?

It's a personal preference. It brings faster performance, 64 GB storage, probably less problematic hardware than One X (remember wifi, screen problems of One X) and more.. They just say if it was using S4 Pro it would have had better battery life but still it's a lovely phone.

I agree, but with phones like the nexus 4, Galaxy S3 and note 2, I don't know if this is worth it.
Sad info about battery. :/

I would buy One X or One X+ only if I like Sense. Well, I do but I couldn't buy One X since it had hardware issues when I was looking for. Maybe HTC solved these issues, we will see but right now if I had a solid One X without problems, I wouldn't buy One X+. If I had GS3, I would still buy it because missed Sense as I'm using GN right now.

I was strongly considering the one x+ but with the nexus 4 specs and price, an the one x+ Engadget review, I gotta go nexus 4.
After reading the review I made my mind clear. Will get a Asus Tabfone 2!

I mostly agree with you.. but the limited 16 GB of space in the nexus 4 makes the phone almost impossible to use in this digital world..

For me it was easy to chose the X+ cause i was allowed, to swap my x instead.. I just can say it feels a lot better, it seams it is perfectly built. The speaker is so much better! And the back feels real good with this Rubber coat. It isnt, slippy anymore so less drops will happen. HTC did a real quality move this time!

Good to hear. Could you please check if the screen ripple issue is sorted out like in this video?

Btw, almost all of the reviewers say battery life has significantly improved. I have no idea why Engadget said that.

I think it's, better, too.. But if you want disable the energy, saver, it's, just slightly better than the X... With enabled batterysaver, it's, a big improvement.

Having used the HTC Desire HD (Also known as Sensation) on TMobile UK. I really like the design and reliability of HTC devices. Looking forward to see how this device stacks up. I do like that JB is included out-of-the-box. AT&T is releasing it in the USA but I hope TMobile now called EE will release it soon

[Q] HTC One X+...worth it over the X?

looking at buying either the One X+ or the X
I can get the X for $0.98 on 2 year contract at Sams Club, and the cheapest I can find the X+ is at Amazon for $129
Is the X+ worth 128 dollars in addition?
I know that the X+ has an updated version of sense, but I can't tell readily, is the software of the X+ available as a custom ROM yet for the X?
I don't use a lot of phone memory to store videos or audio, so the 64 GB doesn't seem like a deal breaker to me
I mainly use my phone for taking photos
Yes the one x+ is worth it also if you mainly take photos, I recommend you buying a gs3, photos are way better on gs3
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2
The camera on the s3 better than the one x+?
I find that hard to believe. I just returned my s3 on T-Mobile...and kept this phone.

The one x has a lot of noise in the photos why do you think there's like a 100 threads about poor photos quality

I thought i would never use 64gb either, guess again with this android device! On my iphone 4 i used maybe 15gb total. On this device, same songs, same photos, about 6gb worth of games and maybe 20 small apps, this device says i'm currently using 24gb of space! WTF, really??? I can only account for maybe 17gb on my part, guess the android phone installed already sucks up the difference. So really it's a 56gb device out of the box, lol!
I have both phones, paid 200$ each love both but I gotta say the x+ is a lot faster and battery life is much improved, one x+ is what the xl should have been but one xl is still a great choice if ur on a budget. But if not go for the x+

Let's not forget to mention that the One X has a dual core processor and the One X+ has a quad core. That in itself makes a huge difference.

Van you take the same photo with both phones instead? I honestly really disliked (i have to tone down my language because there is a sensitive op/moderator that keeps deleting my posts) my s3 and always liked the x+'s pics a lot more.

I don't own my s3 anymore but here's the deal the one x+ fails on low light situations on normal light it may be find but The s3 takes great pics at night because of the super bright flash

Default settings are over exposed, bringing down the exposure level by 2 notches does wonders. Lots of image settings to play with one the hox.

I just never understood a reason to go backwards? If something twice as good is available and for only $100 more or so, yeah i'm going for it. I paid the full $199 + tax at the ATT store for mine and don't regret one penny spent. Never once did the original One X cross my mind, lol! I wouldn't go from the iPhone 4 to the 4s because it's $100 cheaper than the 5, lol!
---------- Post added at 10:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:36 AM ----------
If you don't mind waiting i'd personally hold out another 3 months or so. Either by then all the bugs will be worked out of the current X+ device and might even be cheaper for you. Also the new wave of first quarter phones will be out from HTC including this M7 device they are claiming to be the new flagship (seems every release is their new flagship phone, LOL). The M7 might blow the X+ out of the water or it might be born with bugs just like the X+ currently has. Again though by this time you have more options versus jumping the gun now. Coming from a jailbroken iPhone 4 though i can say this phone is pretty damn amazing bro! If they can just fix this camera low light issue, bluetooth issue, and HTC figuring out how the hell to make these 4 quads actually work together to play games and what not, this device would be flawless. All 3 of these bugs are very very minor too and probably will all be fixed soon by the amazing people here, who knows? I just know i don't regret one second owning this phone.

One X+ or the Butterfly

Two behemoths
Would anyone share their personal experiences?
Which one to go for based on performance , battery life etc etc

Here is a review from one of OneX+ users, it's pretty detailed too

The only reason I would get the HOX is because it's available right now. If you can wait and want the latest and greatest then get the butterfly.
Sent from my HTC EVARE_UL using Tapatalk 2
HOX+ is great with some customization it may be the best smartphone now available with an average battery life for completing the day with lots of calls and playing
The butterfly is like the HOX+ amazing specs and performance but you might be a bit worried from its battery
Sent from my ONE X+ using XDA premium
specs almost the same, the only spec i like in the butterfly over HOX+ is the 2GB ram and expandable
The butterfly have seem hardware nexus 4 cpu quad core 1.5 krait with adreno 320 better performance...the battery best onex+
i was out in the malls few days ago and decided to check if they have the butterfly available already. i was pretty scared that time since i just got my hox+ 2weeks ago and i might like it and it cost the same. well they did have it already and the screen is big its longer like the S3. them being good sales people they hand me one to play around. fortunately i did, its not as comfortable as the HOX+. the back is glossy so its a bit slippery and the back is rounded.
the screen for me is too big. and i dont like the feel of it in my hand plus they only have the red version.. but yeah the 2gb ram is nice.

According to official statements HTC EVO 3D will not receive updates Android 4.1. Although the developer has promised to maintain the structure within a half years, from its current output in the sale. Well I'm not sure enough what htc guys will tell me, since in my country htc not so popular as samsung device and the support is limited..
Base on football info, evo 3d won't get jb update, and that's make sense instead developing an old devices, they better develop a new devices to boost the market and sale.. IMO..

Another petition, how many petitions are already floating around the evo forums, 4 maybe and has one been successful, no! Save your energy, HTC will not release anymore updates for the evo. It's just doesn't make any business sense, again HTC makes money, which they haven't made for awhile, on selling hardware not software.

The Evo 3D will not ever see a JB update. It is obvious they weren't ever planning on it when they did the GB->ICS update. They went with the bare minimum and kept the deprecated PMEM memory allocation in the kernel as opposed to updating to the newer ION memory allocation like all other devices. This is the sole reason why we won't see an official JB update.

the sooner you guys realize this information the better it will be.. it is why you have to buy new phones.. this a business not unicef.
It would be nice if HTC released an update. Dev. Test. Whatever to let xda and other work on it, but I doubt it will happen.
It would give a bit more faith in HTC that they would support phones for 2 years as Google wanted a year or so ago but I guess probably no one does still. That's why I got a Nexus at the end. No binning off support after a few months of release. Disappointed in the One series lack of or slow support and flurry of devices when they said they were going to retain a smaller group of devices...
Build on the LG seems good to me. Better than Samsung devices. A solid phone. And Google will sort the updates. Its not a HTC Nexus but its good enough. And cheap!
I hope they sort themselves out with the next flagship and keep it for a year and not push out updated model after updated model... Like the One X, One XL, One X+ etc

Anyone tried a HTC one max? What do they think vs XZU

I have a XZU and a HTC one at the moment. Undecided whether to sell both phones and get a HTC one max. Or sell HTC one and keep XZU. I like the XZU just wish it had some missing features. Like flash. Better speakers. Better placed micro usb port. Any one have any experience with HTC one max and XZu. Thanks
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Well if I'm not wrong there is a review that compares between the two. Chcek it out on youtube. If I'm not mistaken the conclusion was this: if you're looking for a big phone, htc one max will suit you better. But if you're looking for a mini tablet, xzu is for you.
