JB ... ok, ATM there is only the leaked XXLSJ for our phone.
I recommend to flash CWM in stock recovery (=> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28178105 ... Method 1), then flash XXLSJ NeatROM Lite v4.0 (=> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35066742).
Good luck !

Thnkss bro, but my question is that- if i root my phone now, then how will i update it to JB when it is available??
Bcs OTA will make my phone to lose the root access!!
Also the link i'd given, is it safe to root through it!

You would just boot into recovery and flash CWM zip file or boot into download mode and flash via ODIN.
This has already been discussed MANY MANY MANY MANY times already, there is no need for these "How do I flash" type topics no matter what version of Android is coming soon the process is same.
Mod edit - removal of unnecessary rant
Before you do anything watch the following video IN FULL. Its not a dig but it explains some things.

Iv rooted my s3 using cf root 6.4 ( not auto). Its on 4.1.1. now i know that 4.1.2 is out i really like the multi tasking feature and really want to update.
The only thing is that i want to unroot know but im not sure where to start. iv read up on this site to unroot s3 i9300 (galaxys3root) and i want to go back to stock firmware. I want everything gone also the root(supersu, cwm manager also the aptoide and stuff like that. Basically so the warranty is intact again.
the method shown is it good and is it compatible with the way i have rooted? Galaxys3root
since my phone is branded to 3 network in uk can i install unbranded firmware so the 3 start up sign goes away or shall i stick to same firmware.
Appreciate the help the people give on here. Thanx alot

[HowTo]Root and add CWM - Please read.

I've been searching around and it seems theres 1000 different methods to root SGSII but unsafe..and also I got confused between GB versions and ICS ones...
I've come frmo a SGAce which was as simple as with recovery flash the upd.zip and the phone was rooted, then install CWM and done, with 100% sucess rate.
I want to know if there's such a way for SGSII ?
Also if you can, does that leaked version of JB is working 100% bugless on SGSII? If so can you provide me the correct guide to apply it on SGSII? Since i find alot, but all are fakes/erros ones..
Thanks for your comprehension and time!

Need help with rooting

Hi guys,
I have a samsung galaxy s2 and i need to root this phone. It is running ics 4.0.4. I read in the threads that rooting 4.0.4 will cause trouble.
Is there any other way to root other than downgrading to 4.0.3
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance guys

Flash Odin version of Siyah kernel (search for how to/which kernel you need to use). Done. Rooted phone + CWM, you can flash whatever you like/wipe till your bum gets red.

What thread/reply have you been reading because their talking crap or you have mis-read/misunderstood.
To root your device, install cwm all you need to do is flash Siyah kernel via ODIN or one of other various ways. This has already been discussed over and over again so we dont need yet another topic just to repeat everything again.
#1 rule by XDA is to search and read topics before creating them.
This has already been discussed over and over again

1) Do not install CM 9 unless you want to brick your phone
2) All important info can be found in General > Sticky roll-up thread. Believe it or not, you're not the first person to ask this question
Please start by reading the basics its all posted .
Then read the instruction for the rom you want .
If you dont understand then dont flash until you do .
Basics read first.

Hey there. I'm new to the SIII mod world so I have a question. I know how to root since I rooted the SIII of a friend, but I want to install a custom rom. If I do so is there a way to COMPLETELY be stock again and under warranty?

Yes there is. Check the unbrick guide for the GS3, it will show you how to flash the stock rom and return to how your device was when you first boughr it.

[Q] .:New Method to root Andoid:.

Hello,
I am currently using the Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300. Bought this device last April. At that time I was completely new to rooting device. I didn't know what to do. I searched online about rooting device, read many post by users in various blogs and threads here in XDA. Then I was very curious to root my device. But even then, though i knew what rooting was and its merits and demerits, i had no idea how to root my device. So I started searching again for an easy and fast way to root my device. Then I came me across the framaroot thread here and thanks to the developer of Framaroot, I was able to root my android safely without any problems. It was a very useful app for beginners who had no idea about rooting.
After few months, I received a firmware update. I had no idea what changes it would bring about in my device. In a hope to find out the new features, I updated the firmware. But sadly, there wasn't any noticeable change. So once again I seeked the help of framaroot to root my device. I was left with an error message and didn't know what to do. Again by searching on Google, I came to know about the OTA update about which I had no idea prior to the firmware update. I realized that the OTA update was a curse to Android rooting and I was left with my boring stock rom without anything. Today again I searched all over the Internet for a very safe and easy method to root my device but couldn't find anything like the framaroot. So here I am kindly requesting, the deveopers to kindly update the already existing methodsor make a new easy method to root android devices so that people new to android can experiment and enjoy root features. Sorry for the long story, thought it might be useful by explaining everything in detail. Hope I have not violated any of the XDA rules. If I did, I apologise for that too but please don't remove this thread. It would be very nice if anyone can find a solution as there are many people in the same situation as I am right now.
Thanking XDA and all the developers for there services.

Thanks for the post. Nevers seen this before. I will surely try it out. I have heard about odin before but was not confident to use it as I thought it may brick my device. Is there any root apps like Framaroot that can help make the process a lot faster and easier without the use of a computer.

1- Its the fastest and most reliable method I femilliar with- just follow the vid orders step by step (according to your device model), and no harm
should be made (unless you plug out your device in the middle of the process, or using a different model type- but even those can be resolved).
2- No apps that I know. Although i would not recommend it even if I found one- just seems too riksy than using the computer...
Basically all the OP questions are answered in the faqs and guides .
Root is constantly updated as and when possible but its not a simple question of just making a new one . Read the relevant root threads .

If it was only that easy on S3 would save a lot of trouble ..yep follow instructions in thread and use PhilZ .tar.md5 not the zip file and if you are flashing CM 11 you do not need to root the rom is already rooted.

Without giving you a long explanation you flash custom roms in recovery (.zip files) and stock roms (.tar) in odin and same for recoveries.

Something is tempting me to try it out. Lol. If it works, i will report it here and it will help other s3 users too. At the same time, something prevents me from doing it. I get a feeling of bricking my device. Then I will have to fix that too
Before I do something like that, can u predict if it may work since the same method worked for the N7000 or can u tell me if have you tried it before? (Please tell me if I am annoying u, it doesn't matter )
