There's no way to enable trackball wake in Gingerbread stock ROMs. I hope Google will fix this in next major update.
If you need it you have to flash CM7 or a CM-based ROM with tbwake feature enabled.
look this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=994327 the ROM is STOCK

it's AOSP, not based on the OTA.
I know this was true so far for gingerbread stock. Is it possible that it may have been changed with this 2.3.4 update?

right, and all parts regarding trackball wake are extracted from cyanogenmod github repo (kudos to CM team!), so it's partially CM-based
I hope Google will reimplement the needed APIs in next major update (Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwich)

Quick reminder to everybody that wants to use Video calls!
IT DOES WORK !!!
I just tested it:
In both situations, I initiated the call and the other side (online on gmail.com) could initiate both video and voice calls.
The other side could see my phone camera image, I could see the other side webcam image, the other side could hear my voice and I could hear the othe side voice.
Thanks a lot for the chef, for google and for this guy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056793 for the lib and modified apk.
Just for ppl to know... I did everything at once on recovery. Installed the ROM and flashed the gtalk... 1st time the phone booted was already working!

Hello guys this is a lite version of official gapps. It's lite because i have deleted all the unused stuff like facelock (x8 doesn't have a frontal camera so it's useless) and some libs related to facelock; this will save about 15 Mb on \system. I tested these gapps in MiniCM9 but they can be used in any ICS rom.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Copy the gapps package to the root of your sdcard
Reboot to CWM.
Install zip from sdcard
Reboot.
NOTE: overwriting these gapps (16 Mb) over official ones (50 Mb) will not make you gain free space on \system

Update: 28/4/2013 - v0.1 Alpha

Update: 30/4/2013 - v0.2 - Alpha
-Allowed to add custom bootanimation.
-Now the ROM is fully deodexed.
-Added Nano Text Editor.
Update: 1/5/2013 - v0.21 Alpha
-Added the stock kernel, it may fix the bootloop issue (the last release i forgot to put the stock kernel during the build).
Update: 2/5/2013 - v0.8 - Beta
-Removed the kernel from the ROM to get rid of error during flash. I can't customize the stock kernel to get init.d tweaks due to a locked bootloader. i'll found a way to get the it.
Update: 5/5/2013 - v0.91 - RC1
-Changed the version to Release Candicate.
-Changed the ROM name to MyFirstROM.
-Removed several apps from the /system/app because the previous ROM file are quite large (about 490MB). I will debloat more apps in this ROM soon.

I've checked the updater-script for errors using Android Kitchen, i got 6 errors. I am able to fix 2 of them. But can you post any shots/pictures so i can see it?
Edit: I think it is because i got no /system/usr/bin folder in the ROM.
Edit 2: i created a folder named 'bin' in /system/usr. It may fix during the flash. Now i am uploading it.

@OwnDroid can we extract the CameraNext and GaleryNext apk's and install them in our own rom without installing the full gapps package?
I'm not interested in having it disable/remove the default files on my rom but I would love to have this updated and your pack seems to do so....
Or, can you release a pack that installs them and don't delete the ones preinstalled with the rom we use it on?
Thanks!!!
