Soft Bricked. need kernel and pit. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I bricked my note 2. I need a proper pit file and a properly signed kernel. . Does anyone have one? Can someone dd the BOOT partition for me?
The one in the development section is invalidly signed.

Someone get this man the files! I would but I have NO clue what he's talking about.
Sent from my rooted galaxy note 2... U mad?

If all else fails id be happy to pull it from the phone (if possible) with the necessary steps.

I was in the IRC when they got a .pit file. Here is a link.

I'm guessing it works but I don't know anything about .pit files. Hope this helps.

Don't know if you have this Adam but this is the Tar file that everyone used to Root their phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207

no, and don't send me a PM along with a forum post. I'd like to respond to just one.
I got what I needed from invisiblek on freenode.

If you followed Adam working on the vz s3...he comes across abruptly. Its nothing personal, he just likes to get his point across. Let him do his thing. My guess is he won't get the boot loader unlocked, but he probably will find a way to get recovery.

Hey that would be better than nothing at this point!!

Maybe it will help if I use smilies?. I get way too many pms . I read them all . I also read my recent threads :victory:. I also have things I'm doing in real life :highfive:. it is redundant, time consuming, and not worthwhile to send a pm and a response when you don't know what you are talking about :silly: . I generally hate my PM box . its filled with people asking questions that a search would take care of. So let me break this down a bit so you see what I see:cyclops: . I have a thread I'm monitoring and subscribed to, it sends me emails and I read the thread, I also get a PM, which sends me an email... I read there same post 4 times within 2 minutes and it was a question to which the answer is "no" :silly:.
I had hoped my previous response would be sufficient to convey that and let the quad message poster know that he does not need to spam to get my attention
The only thing we are now missing is a SBOOT.bin file. Once we have this file, I have a hardware hack and Ralekdev has a software hack. I've established a permanent external UART for testing compatibility of SBOOT signatures, but so far every one which I've found has been incompatible.
I'm working on this device and bricking it continuously. I've already had to have a thread shutdown in Development for improper firmware. I need a 100% restore solution. I'm working on it. I need SBOOT.
I'm also working on hardware hacks. https://plus.google.com/u/0/104711040110222472212/posts/TWps7wWvAAu I located UART on the live stream yesterday, and I've created a version of Heimdall for the GNote2.
So yeah, I'm a bit abrupt. Don't take offense. Just know that I'm working on this and being an asshole on the internet is real easy when working quickly.

1st question. why wouldnt you follow the rules and make a nandroid backup? because if you did, you wouldnt be having this issue.
2nd question. why wouldnt you give the necessary information as to what you flashed and from where?
its almost impossible to help you out when you give no information. you also havent bricked your phone if you can turn it on still.
This is what happens when you put the cart before the horse.
More info on what you did so we can:

No, that won't work.
The rules of XDA are clear - Search before posting, never post before reading the FAQ.
Not flashing anything until you have done research is just plain common sense.
How to flash I9100 firmwares, and WHICH ones can be flashed, is covered in the FAQ topic. The original poster CLEARLY did not read the FAQ.
Assuming that you're still on the ICS ROM......it depends on what exactly you flashed but this could be the solution. Flash the correct modified kernel based on what base ICS ROM you flashed(if you don't know then look at settings->about phone). You will then need to flash a correct i777 modem as well(depends if it is Samsung or AOSP based). Without knowing more about what you flashed I can't really help you further.
Possible kernels:

Dont know what you're talking about, I cant ban people. If a person gets enough infractions then the higher ups ban people because they cant follow the rules. All infractions are looked at then double looked at, so if your friend got banned, then he deserved it.

I think you have the wrong attitude here. Yes, it's good to help people that KNOW how to help themselves. But when they blatantly ignore all the help already available they become more of a nuisance than any real development of this forum. I'm sorry If that seems a bit harsh. But this place was not started to spoon feed people that don't know what they are doing. It's been stated time and time again. This is NOT a help desk forum. That's what you should have done in the first place. You might be better off trying to get a warranty replacement. If the phone is bricked, they won't be able to tell if you tried to do something to it anyway. Just an idea. Hope you learned your lesson. Should have been a given.

About a half hour of reading in the first place would have saved you the 600+ dollar paperweight you just created. In a half hour, you could effectively figure out that n7000 ROMs are a big no-no for the i717, learned how to root your i717, learn how to flash CWM on your i717, and flash an i717 ROM to your i717.
Not to condone screwing over AT&T, but I would suggest you do the following, if you by chance have the monthly insurance on your phone: report it lost or stolen, pay the $200 deductible to order a new one, then take your old one which is now completely useless, and smash it with a hammer, run it over with your car, burn it, spray paint it, burn it again, smash it some more, wrap a strip of firecrackers around it and light it off, use it for target practice for the nearest firearm or paintball gun, then put it in a display case to keep in a prominent location in your home or office as a reminder of what a lack of reading can do to your device. Then, while you are waiting patiently for your new i717 to arrive in the mail, take the time to READ everything you can about your specific phone so you know every in and out of it before it is in your hands.
All joking aside, the best you can probably do is report it lost or stolen, order a new one, and then see if somebody needs it to try out JTAG repairs for the Note. I'm not sure if JTAG has been accomplished on the i717 yet, but that's probably the most use your phone will ever provide again.

Op does your phone do ANYTHING AT ALL? bootloop, hang at splash screens, only show charging symbol when plugged in? All of those aren't bricks and are recoverable
If your phone just sits there and does absolutely nothing, nothing at all, like a corpse, then that and ONLY that is a brick.

Fine. As you should. But you should also follow the rules when doing ao. I gave my advice in this thread as did others in which the same advice (not by me) was also posted in countless other threads including ones the OP posted in. If you forgot here is a refresher for new users:

She emailed me sayig that her note is not working and since it was my fault, i figures I should fix this. Can anyone provide me a clean (unmodified/themed) systemui.apk and android.policy.jar? Any help would be greatly appreciated ata
just have her flash back to stock or reflash the rom she is on.
She doesn't have any idea about that kind of things.

I'll be that guy... She should not be modifying her phone with no knowledge and use the search. There are a thousand threads on how to get back to stock.

Well I was the one who sent her the wrong file. And she doesn't really know a lot about stuff thats gping on here in xda.
Then honestly...you should not have sent it. Irresponsible flashing causes expensive paperweights and bad blood. Do it yourself...or don't do it. There should not have just been "a file to send". No one is going to help with this, as YOU screwed up, and her for trusting...YOU.
P.S. looking for info by carrier is far from confusing...if that confused you or her, should stay stock Sammy!!!!

Can't add anything to this that hasn't already been said. If you provided the service of modifying someone's device without verifying things first, most people aren't going to make it easy for you, especially with the information needed to restore the phone back to stock being readily available.
Also, you don't modify anyone's phone unless you're willing to take the time to figure out how to fix it. I never modify anyone's phone myself. I'll provide details on how to do so, or where to find more info, but that is up to the phone owner to actually make the changes themselves.
Honestly, I don't need all this BS. I posted because I needed help and not so "VZW Note II" could bash me and keep saying in my face that I screwed up. i get okay? It was a mistake. She wanted tablet ui and I gavr the wrog file. I don't need your lessons. if you can't reply anything other than telling me I should've done this and that SCREW you. What's wrong with you people! everyone's become self-righteous. you're ALL SO PERFECT. I shouldn't have posted if this was the case. Thanks anyway even if there was no help received.

Want help, go read how to restore to stock, like you've been told as well. Not too hard. Will give you all the files you need back. Happy now?

We are trying to help you. In fact, they gave you suggestions. But it makes the situation more complicated that this isn't your device and the person in trouble is clueless.
And your 'Screw you' reply will most likely lead to no help now.
Good luck.

That in fact means you do care, if you could care less, it means you do indeed care now.
but honestly, I couldn't care less.

UPDATE: Here is the unlocked bootloader dump. (2GB)

(Separate post for visibility)
This post on Reddit, shows a claimed "fully operational prototype" that the OP's father received from a friend who works for Samsung.
Here is the about screen.
I worked with the poster, over the weekend, to pull a system dump:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23060877490004987
The .rar contains the MMCBLK's, as well as the contents of /system as requested by Metallice in the original xda thread.
Please let me know if anything else is needed.
Edit: Title change (thanks 2swizzle)
Big thanks to Redditor iDubWheniStep for his patience and cooperation.

Apologies for the self-bump, but I want to make sure those who requested the dump still have a chance to see it.
is this dump a no go?

Probably wont lead anywhere. Im assuming if it could there would of been some developer chatter. For all I know someone could be doing it behind closed doors tho.

They have a notice on the site that download counts aren't showing properly on the page. Im sure somebody has grabbed it. Plus, DL been going pretty slow for me at least, on any mirror not getting over 250KB/s thats like almost 2 hrs, lol
Im sure someone will chime in if it is useful, either way, thanks for the work on getting it put up, you never know what can help things along.
change the title to " here's the unlocked bootloader dump 2gb" potentially
also, shouldn't this be in the development section?

Probably not. This doesnt really have anything to do with rom development. None of the bounty/safestrap threads are in the dev section.

Model number shows t-mobile.. So probably useless. You would need a verizon or AT&T.

Wow this went no where I guess everyone has just kind of given up. This will be the last time I rush out and get a launch day "flagship" device paying full price. I thought for sure this phone would have a ton of development and a ton of accessories so far im seing neither. The s3 has alot more

No one owes you anything. Develop what you want yourself. Why would you think that we would care if you bought a flagship phone or not?

I don't think he was ripping anyone saying he's "owed anything". Just exhibiting frustration on a locked bootloader. I too had hoped Sammy would not have gone this route, and more development would continue. Those of us on VZW should come to expect this now, as they are nazis with the bootloader. Bootloader unlock is not a selling point for me, but it does make it more fun.

It is frustrating for those of us on ME7 not to have an unlocked bootloader, but I for one am grateful for the options we DO have right now... you can still root and use Xposed to customize to your liking or use Safestrap and flash a decent amount of roms. I will keep waiting patiently for someone to find an exploit, but in the meantime just shut up and enjoy what options we're even lucky enough to have. You picked Verizon, did you really expect freedom?
I just want the apps Verizon denied me
I love watermelon and fried chicken, grape soda and my SCH-I545.

The options we have seem to be enough for most users anyhow.
