[Q] 4.1.1 custom rom - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I have Official 4.1.1 JB installed and show 10.4.2.17 as the firmware. I have already unlocked......what are my options as far as flashing custom rom?
Can I just install TWRP and flash any custom rom over the stock? Would have to be a JB rom I assume.
Thansk!!

You have to flash TWRP 2.3.1.0 for JB bootloader. And flash only roms that are for JB bootloader. Never try to install rom for ics bl - you will probably hardbrick your device.

Great! That is what I thought, but wanted confirmation before just going ahead with it. Thanks again!!

Just ran the TWRP via fastboot. Do I just reboot now? The status bar when all blue and that is it. Afraid to do anything without being sure it took. thanks.

[Q] flashing custom ROMs and KERNELS

Ok guys my transformer prime is now unlocked and rooted with TWRP recovery running stock jelly bean with build # 10.4.2.17. Now can i just flash ROMs and KERNELS through recovery (TWRP) or do i have to flash boot images first using FASTBOOT?
the reason im asking is because if your not S-OFF on the HTC EVO 4G LTE you would have to flash the boot images through FASTBOOT. Then flash the ROM or KERNEL.
so is it the same for the transformer prime TF201? because i wanna start flashing ASAP! lol

You didn't even need the root part first. Just flash away in TWRP.
Fastboot is normally only used to flash a recovery like twrp.

I use Hairybean but you can try energy rom also if you would like a different theme.

???How to go from 4.0.3 to jelly bean???

???I've seen several warnings on the jb roms not to install if not on jb boot loader... so how do I get on jb boot loader? Im on virtuous prime .28 thanks in advance. ???
After Reading a little bit more I see that all I need to do is update my recovery and then proceed to flash a rom with the jb bootloader.? Correct?

Look into hat hairybean thread, there's special version of Rom, that flashes bootloader and recovery. After that you can flash any JB Rom you want.

Unbricked. What now?

Yay, finally unbricked.. stupid Asus cables.. currently got cwm and cm latest stable release.. just wondering what in should do next and in what order. Hearing that people are getting bricked with jb and cwm so I'm thinking I need to get twrp on there, and maybe nvflash,
So what should I do in what order? Trwp or nvflash first? And what's the best most stable job ROM about?
is that IrC channel still about does anyone know in case I run into problems doing all this?
Thanks in advance

You are on ICS at moment.
First do NVFlash and backup all the files it tells you to along the way.
Next install TWRP for ICS. Make sure you get the ICS version installed at this point.
Next go to Hairybean thread and go to post 2 and follow upgrade instructions for ICS. This will get you onto the Jellybean bootloader and Hairybean 1.51.
After that either stay on Hairybean 1.51 or switch to a different Jellybean bootloader rom.

[Q] Is there no way to unlock TF201 - JB ?

I have not yet root or unlock my prime, and I upgraded my prime to JB with 10.4.2.18
I would like to flash the TWRP2. After read some threads, I have some question:
1. Is there any way to unlock my prime? I heard that the official unlocker is work for ICS only.
2. Can I flash nvFlash later? Since TWRP2 mentioned I cannot get nvflash access with JB bootloader
Thank You
You can unlock JB with the ICS tool. Unless you have an unknown serial problem like me. Not sure about second question.

Howto stock JB rom (4.1) to a custom ROM 4.2

Hi,
I try to understand how to change my current stock ROM to one of those ROM, published in this forum.
There is so many thread, that I don't know how to start and specialy I do not want to brick my TF201.
Can someone give my the instruction to follow to move from a Stock JB 4.1 to any 4.2 custom rom ?
Thanks a lot!
1) Unlock your device using ASUS tool.
2) Flash TWRP 2.5.0.0 - http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/93
3) Follow instructions in AndroWook thread.
unlock tool for JB stock rom
Thanks for your reply.
Which tool should I use to unlock my transformer prime ? I went on the asus website to download the desired tool and it says:
Unlock Device App: Unlock boot loader(Only works with TF201 ICS OS)
Does it mean that it is not working on the stock JB ?
Thanks,
Laurent

I don't know why but I can't install the unlock app of TF300T
Instead I install the unlock app of TF201 and unlock BL successfully at stock JB
