Please help guys, I cannot find a decent WiFi tether app out there to install with my HTC one x plus using the insertcoin ROM without a custom kernal. What do do you recommend? Running on AT&T

Have you tried the buit in Wifi tethering? Settings -> More (between HTC Media Link HD and Personaliza) -> Mobile network sharing -> Portable Wi-FI hotspot.
Yes indeed I have, I have to contact customer service it says which means it's not unlocked

Which version of insert coin rom are you running. I don't have any issues with the stock app.

I am running the newest insert coin rom for the AT&T version of the HOX plus found in the android development section
What happens when you start the WiFi hotspot.

When I attempt to start it up, it tells me to go to att.com/mywireless or call 611

There is probably some code specific to the AT&T ROM that is doing this. It might be possible to patch the AT&T ROM with some code from the international version...
I would but idk what I'd be doing lol. I guess I'll have to wait until someone releases a ROM for it

I'm on insert coin and WiFi hotspot works perfectly. Yes there is a setting for att and it is cooked inside the Rom. Go to mobile settings and select att pta, reboot and try again.

How do I go to mobile settings? On the phone? Step by step directions maybe?

Here is the problem

Go to settings, mobile networks, access point, select att pta

Okay I finally figured it out! I disabled the AT&T pta and reenabled it. Then I restarted my phone and poof, worked like a charm! Thanks everyone this one is solved

What about USB tethering?
Maybe something like EasyTether? That should work, right?
When I try to on my hotspot, it keeps telling me to contact sth.com/mywireless or dial 611
I really need to use my fon for this purpose "hotspot"

How can I use NFC with other devices and transfer things? Thank you.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
Its not NFC that transfers anything but either WiFi direct or Bluetooth
NFC just initiates the transfer and its completed with one of those two, I've only had this phone since 2pm so I haven't tested it yet but with my old phone HTC One XL WiFi direct never worked
Kernel issue I believe
Try it with someone who has a SGIII and see if it works?
Just enable NFC and android beam
Go to a file in gallery and touch the devices and it should send

Is there a way to enable hotspot I know with Motorola had an entitlement check how about the one x plus?

Is doing things like that not a breach of your contract? And thus illegal?

Hey, the same thing happened to me. I live in Ecuador, had to manually update with RUU. Then only downside is that everything gets erased.

That's a good thing. It's good to start fresh, especially when making big jumps in os.
