Here it is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315711
The link is further down the page in an instruction list, and it's called PetesMotorolaRootTools_v1.07.zip
This and the Moto one click are the same thing
The link that the previous poster put and mine are the same, the thread has various ways to root your phone. Make sure you choose which one is easiest for what you're trying to do
Note that Pete's/MotoOneClick will root a phone on 2.3.4, and the magic md5 method is for rooting an X2 on 2.3.5
I sbf to 2.3.4 and use the md5 CD¿ Works for me:what:

Really? I'd re-check exactly what you did, I don't think that's possible.
Read this thread on the Magic MD5 method. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818758
It clearly states in the instructions that the Magic MD5 method for the Droid X2 is for 2.3.5
Maybe what you did is different, or maybe the thread hasn't been updated to show that it can be used with 2.3.4. But I've never heard of that actually having been done on 2.3.4.
It is possible though that the cd (I've never used it and know nothing about it) actually sbfs to 2.3.5 for you, and then roots your phone. That's the only thing I can think of that explains how that worked.
Try it I just had to do it again flash withdrawal....:banghead: = boot loop =sbf rsd md5 cm7 nano... Eclipse,cm10,liberty...etc...
p.s. ROM managers new cmw for the dx2 still doesn't work invalid signature in stock recovery and way freaks out our bootstrap grrr firsthand:banghead::what:

Very cool! Downloading now. Now if I'm not mistaken, I should be able to try most anything possible (bootstrapping, overclocking, etc.) and if anything goes wrong (short of permanent hardware damage) I will be able to recover back to square one with this SBF right?

Nothing other than the RUU is an executable where the sbf is a file you flash through RSD lite. On that note anyone have a RSD lite that supports our phone I keep getting a chipset un supported with the RSD lite I am using which is 4.6.

Did you use RSD? If you did, what option in fast boot did you use? BP bypass RSD or just plain RSD?
plane rsd and RSD lite needs to be version 5.3.1 I will post a link shortly with that version. It says it is 5.0 on the download page but it is 5.3.1

Ok after getting root by following the thread on rooting I proceeded to deodex my files, I have attached a link to them with instructions. Did you sbf and take the latest OTA? The current version of the Eclipse will function only on that version of gingerbread.
yes but ill try it again just to back track my steps. I have factory reset had to sbf after Miui and before. I always sbf and wipe no matter what I do I am kind of OCD and have to start new Ill give it a go right now.
I have also tried new SD cards as well. I have been messing with dev. for a while so I know a lot about it I also read everything and more before I do anything (OCD) Been working on my A100 and its been easy and was easy flashing Miui dont know what I missed

If you are trying to flash Eclipse 2.2.1, you must be on the OTA 2.3.5 (418) build. Also, you have to root 2.3.4 and backup root using Voodoo before updating to 2.3.5.
and remove voodoo's su backup, before flashing eclipse
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
Latest official is 418. Latest eclipse won't work with 412. That could be the problem.

I'll remove voodoo but I DL Eclipse that was with the 412 file in the same thread unless I did not see It right. I tried to flash this a week ago and had to stop messing w/it I was editing band pics in PS & LR so I just now picked it up again. I DL the Blur version 412 should I kick that to the curb and DL 418? I was under the impression that the GBP7v0.5 would work with 2.3.5 412 though if so that would not flash as well

Correct me if I am wrong Eclipse did work with that version at one time or no? I saw Eclipse 3.0 but have not read the forum yet and I have been working on my Acer tab more. When I was on 2.3.4 I had no issues with Miui I had to sbf to 2.3.4 from OTA Leak 2.3.5 b/c I was not to fond of that rom at that time I will flash it at another time. I really dig the Eclipse Rom so if I need to start ov and it looks that way then I will have to read up on everything so I know what I am doing and not half assing it. I hate doing that.

I saw the 3.0 version for the Bionic and I have 418 DL now I am going to read some and flash the 418 and try Eclipse then if all is good take care of voodoo and hope it works. However I have some reading to do before hand. I am sure if it foes not go right I'll complain about it even if it is an operator error I'll still have to blame my DX2 for any errors. I think thats how it works

Edit: See post below.
You don't even need voodoo anymore. Just take ota and root using motofail.

LaserChicken, those steps are incorrect!!
In order to flash eclipse 2.2.1 just do this...
-SBF to 2.3.4
-Root using Petes 1 click method
-Download VooDoo OTA Rootkeeper from play store
-Backup root & TEMP UNROOT (do not delete backup yet!!!!!!! )
-Settings>About Phone>Software Update> DOWNLOAD 2.3.5 OTA
*After downloading 2.3.5 from system settings the phone will reboot to stock recovery and install 2.3.5 kernel.*
-Reboot
-Open VooDoo, restore root
-NOW DELETE SU BACKUP FROM VOODOO
-Once you restore root & delete the backup < IMPORTANT! from voodoo you should be able to flash eclipse from BSR
Sent from my MB870 using XDA
Straight from nitro in another thread. Sbf, take ota, root via motofail, install bsr and flash eclipse then profit. So much easier than the previous method.

Ok, I just grabbed Motofail, gonna sbf and try it myself.
I am about to try this one more time I have been dealing with my psycho fish giving birth to about 80 swimming eyeballs so its been a crappy day and I hope my DX2 does not feel the wrath. I have Factory Rest the phone with and without Voodoo I have also let it OTA and that was with the Stock version 2.3.4 MOTO sent installed on the phone. I have missed a little step and I am going to do what well...all of you guys said and ill let ya know in about 30. Also you guys F-Ing ROCK!!!!
Hello-
I’m ignorant when it comes to these things so please be kind, thanks.
I bought 2 Droid X2’s, one for my son and me. I rooted the phones successfully using Pete’s One Click Method (I think). Then I installed Titanium Backup Pro.
A few months later we installed the Droid X2 latest version 2.3.5, not knowing it would unroot our phones. All my research on xdadevelopers tells me I have to reflash the phones back to the manufacturers stock/original system boot file - is this correct? And, is this the sticky/thread that tells me how to do this? Do I follow the op's (daywalker04) post down to the letter when doing so?
To do this, all I have is a Mac OS X version 10.6.8. Thanks to all for your help.
Go to general and there should be a sticky to show you how to sbf to 2.3.4. You'll need RSd lite and the sbf file after that its just a matter of following the directions. There's also a way to root 2.3.5 either with zergrush which I haven't tried or using voodoo ota root keeper and than updating. Hopefully this steers you the right direction.
I would've posted the sticky link but im not totally sure how to on the app

Hi Strubie, Thanks for the reply. Couple of questions.
Will the sticky link I posted (Gingerbread SBF for MB870 Verizon Droid X2) not work? Also, do I have to sbf back to the version that was originally on the phones, or it doesn't matter - either 2.3.3 or 2.3.4?

True - I didn't fully explain what I was trying to do in my op, sorry.
After inadvertently unrrooting my phones by installing 2.3.5, I'm trying to get them rooted again with 2.3.5 installed. I guess my confusion lies in the fact that everything I've read says I have to sbf back to original boxed version. My question is if the original boxed version was 2.3.3, is that what I have to revert back to, or can I go to 2.3.4?
you can flash any of these 2.2.2/ 1.2.148, 2.3.3/1.3.232, 2.3.4/1.3.380, 2.3.5/1.3.418
but 2.3.4 is fastest way to get a rooted 2.3.5

First you need to root, check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818758
and if you are on 2.3.5 the only rom available is Eclipse, but its a good one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1198857
I'd recommend sbf-ing back to 2.3.4 using RSD Lite. The X2 2.3.5 update, as far as I know, is not able to be rooted unless you root it while it's on 2.3.4 and then protect root before you apply the update. I'd go with the CM7 ROM which requires 2.3.4; been using it for 2 months with no issues.
2.3.5 is rootable, I know because I helped make it work, for the X2
