Can't find the undelete. Why the f**k did a factory reset erase my internal AND external SD?

Do you think HEXAMOB https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hexamob.hexamobrecoverypro&feature=search_result

I factory reseted via Stock Android Recovery. Not Root.

How can I wipe internal memory?

I was able to completely wipe my internal storage in recovery mode on my sgs2, is there a way to do this on the sgs3? other than manually go to the folders and delete each one?
Please advice
Thanks
May i ask why, this could be potentially fatal for your phone (i assume you realise this)
When installing a new rom there are always folders and files left behind. Cwm was abke to do this before withouth harming our devices. Wondering why the option is not there like in the sgs 2 version of cwm

Performing a factory format using keypad
1. Key in *2767*3855#
2. Finally, SGS3 will be rebooted and factory format.
This will erase everything.. so plz make a backup before this

CWM recovery is the same mounts and storage format what you want .
Standard recovery factory reset and wipe all data is the same .

the only option under mounts and storage is to wipe the external sd card no the internal as before.

[Q] Factory reset wipes internal sd card?

Have just moved across from the S2. Have updated to the latest firmware (Italy) and have done a factory reset which has actually wiped the internal sd card which never happened on my S2.
Has anyone else had experience of this???
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Yes, this is indeed what happens on the S3 when you do factory reset - you lose all your data (music, photos, etc).
I think there is warning about that before you do it.
Just remove sd card i havent actualy tried ig but it usually gives you a opgion to do SD

I wiped mine via CWM so didn't see or heed the warning.

factory reset via CWM won't wipe internal SD card, but via phone(settings) it will

Ah, you've just made me realise what I did wrong. I flashed the firmware via Mobile Odin and factory reset via the default recovery not CWM because I hadn't installed it at that point...stupid me :silly:

Factory Data Reset

I am on CM10 preview. Rooted and CWM Recovery.
I want to reset my phone because I got some messed up folders on internal SD card.
If I use the Factory Data Reset from settings, does that remove root/recovery/whole ROM.
Is it safe to use??
It's this:

No it wil not erase everything, superwipe however wipes the whole intenal sd card. Just do a factory reset and reboot, root and the rom will not be wiped.

[Q] How to reformat phone?

Hi,
I have CM7.2.0-RC1 installed on my Droid X2 (latest right now). The phone has gotten kind of laggy and I want to reformat the phone. And by reformatting, I want to my phone to be like I JUST installed CM7. Is there a simple way to do this since I'm already on CM7?
Thanks!
If you want to make it like a fresh install of CM7, boot into recovery and do a factory reset. This will wipe all your apps though.

Wiping my apps is fine. Will it also remove all my pictures?

i keep all of my pictures and such on the root of my external sd card. if you do the same, wiping data will not erase your pictures.

Great, thanks so much to both of you!
Go in to settings do factory reset . yes it will wipe all the data in your internal memory including pictures and videos. If you don't want to lose your data so synchronized phone and backup data.

again, any pictures you want to make sure you keep, put them on the root of your external sd card somewhere safe, and wipe through recovery.
sorry this post made no sense to me and i wanted to avoid confusion. any images saved in camera apps folders may or may not be erased. move them to somewhere safe.
I have wiped data/factory reset many times from cwm bsr and have never lost any of my pictures. Fyi, wiping or resetting doesn't touch DCIM folder on your internal storage, which is where your phone saves them to by default if you select internal storage. I have some on both my external and internal storage and have never lost any of them. Again, wiping doesn't touch the folders where your pictures are stored. Unless of course you format your sd card in bsr.

It seems that factory resetting using a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP won't remove pictures.

Factory Reset Doesnt Delete Internal SD Files.

Hellow,
Well i have done a factory Reset and Wipe Partiition/cache from Sgh-i727 Recovery Mode (Stock Rom) and i still can see all the files that i have in internal SD Card. The phone has return to factory settings, but the data still remains. I have already done a Back Up of all my files using Titanium Back up but the problem still remains 6 GBS of information i had before the reset 6 GB i have now after the reset.
Any Ideas? Does not suppose to erase all the data the factory reset function?
Thank you
Constanine.
1. Factory reset will NOT touch your internal SD partition, meaning all your personal stuffs as well as some folders created by apps will be intact.
2. If you want to wipe all those, try do format usb or something.
3. This is for i777, not i727.
Oh i see. Thank you very much for your answer. To do a format to Internal SD Card what i am supposed to do? Sorry for the wrong thread.

Type "format SD" into Google and see.
From me to you.
None of the custom recoveries will wipe sdcard in recovery unless you specifically wipe it in the menus. Theres an entire option just for that purpose
