[Q] Where to Get a Miracast Dongle - AT&T LG Optimus G

Has anyone had any luck with any of the Miracast dongle options? I think it would be neat to have the option to Miracast, but don't want to break the bank either.

Yes, I have the same question......... is there any universal dongle with all dlna miracast airplay ..........?

Check Amazon, they have a bunch on there. I picked one up from Geekbuying CV-X3 I believe it was for around 25 bucks. Probably would have went with the Netgear push to TV adapter had I to do over.
Mine works with all stock ROMs and I got it to work with the latest CM11.0 ROM but I can't get it to maintain connection with Houston's ROMs like the [AOSPA 4.4.2 KOT49H] PARANOIDANDROID 4.0+ GEEB [beta][12/22] ROM which I'm on right now... I like his the best (great work on them Sir, thank you!!). I keep establishing connection only to immediately lose it and have to reconnect. CM11 though I don't have any problems keeping connection.

[Q] Usb Wireless Dongle/adapter

In light of all the recent wifi issues with the Asus Transformer Prime. I got thinking.. Would it be possible for the prime to theoretically use a USB wifi dongle as the receiver through the keyboard dock?
Obviously android since gingerbread has had USB hosting and the ability to use mice, keyboards, game controllers and other devices, but how about a USB wireless networking adapter?
Thoughts?
Interesting thought and I have no idea... For average use wifi suffices but might be a nice option when going to a place where wifi is crap (like vacation house or something).
Iwas thinking the samething. The question is would there be driver issues with the USB device?
Not quite yet
If you are simply talking about a Wireless N Wifi dongle, there would be little gain, While not the best, a properly functioning Prime gets reasonable WiFi performance. Witness mine, which I regularly see 15-20 Mbit downloads speeds, so not great, but certainly acceptable.
If insetad you want a 3G wireless stick, at the present this is not an option. Honeycomb and even ICS do not provide support for these natively, though a rooted device I believe can be made to work with 1 or 2 3G sticks. When talking 3G, the best move is just root your phone and tether to that, but watch to 300 Mb game downloads folks. AT&T will make your head spin with the $ if you go over the measly 2 Gb plan (I was grandfathered in on an "Unlimited' data plan, and lost it... no biggie, they still bust you if you repeatedly use high bandwidth.
Good evening
I was wondering if there is any other thoughts on using a USB WiFi dongle with the prime. The reason I ask is that I note several retailers are starting to get stock in the UK and I am on the verge of purchasing.
The only issue I have is the WiFi range issue as I work on an offshore oil rig which has a WiFi network and I can currently use this within my cabin on a night with my net book to surf the net. However as there are a fair few partitions and a good distance etc between the WiFi router and the cabins, I don't think the Primes WiFi range would be sufficient (based on others posting issues when they are trying to pass through a few walls).
If a USB WiFi dongle could be made to work i would buy a prime tomorrow, otherwise I think I am going to stick with the net book for a while longer and wait for another model / manufacturer with Tegra 3 (I really don't want to follow the crowd and get an Apple!)
Many thanks!
Chris
Should knlw what that could be a good idea. THERES a guy in developement thread named Saturnde. He has made a thread called new or added drivers or something. He compiled a list of new drivers into a zip file for support of new USB devices that aren't normally supported by prime. He said if you want drivers for a particular device tl let him know. He will need name of device n model number or something. Won't hurt to run it past him and see if its feasible or possible. Let us know how it goes.

[Q] different bluetooth stak and hdmi capable

I posted a similar question earlier today, but I found the answer. Now I would like to be a little more specific. I have a feeling I won't be able to get what I am looking for, but it's worth a shot.
I found a ROM with a bluetooth stack that allows my Rezound to connect to my ps3, but when I tried to hook it up to my TV via MHL it didn't work. So then I decided to flash a different ROM. This time I got a working MHL connection to my television, but no bluetooth connectivity to my ps3 controller.
Is there a ROM out there currently that has the ability to connect my ps3 controller to my phone AND has MHL capabilities?
You are going to have to go to one of the old sense 3.6 ROMs.

[Q] MHL compatibility

I have read that the phone does support mhl 3.0, but then I have read that it doesn't and the only way you are getting video out is through Miracast. Anybody here have direct knowledge if there is mhl support?
Thanks
Microsoft Miracast dongle won't work with it either. Does not connect. So much for using this phone with my Appradio.

Just wish I knew which adapter worked. I would get the nex4100, but having an Appradio 2 already and was planning on using ARLiberator or unchained, it would keep me from spending $600. At this point I guess I have to return my phone. Drastic I know, but my radio is useless without a phone.
Samsung phones will generally only work with Samsung brand MHL adapters.
I've read multiple sources on the web that it is true that he S6 doesn't support MHL. I'll verify this later today. While this isn't a big deal at home because you can use chromecast ...etc, , it is in my car. I've always displayed my Phone's (androids and IOS) on my car stereo, for gps or waze purposes (just some examples). Anyone else use MHL? kinda bummed about sammy taking away that functionality.

I got it to work with my AppRadio using Chromecast. Not sure if that is an option for you, but it did work for me. I just would rather use a hardwire connection. If Chromecast had not worked I would have returned the phone. Lack of MHL was a deal breaker for me, but Chromecast works really good for this device.

I have a Kenwood, Guess I could put a chromecast dongle on. I prefer the hardwire connection. How stable is your video connection to your head unit?

With Chromecast it is flawless, with any other Miracast adapter it is horrible. The only hard part (not hard, time consuming) is setting up the Chromecast to work with tethering off of your phone. The rest works just the same as an mhl adapter.
Well, these comments are bothersome! I ordered a Samsung MHL connector from Amazon and it is coming from China on a very slow boat. I ordered it two weeks ago and Amazon says it could be another month. This will tick me off if it finally gets here and doesn't work!! If anyone gets it to work, please post here!!
I got an official Samsung adapter and my s3 works like a charm but my s6 edge just shows a black screen
....m/-#*#*#**#@ !!! But Chromecast works well...dammit Samsung !

[Q] Internet connection is being slow?

I got the phone a few days ago, and I know its not just something with the phone, because I tested it on another family members wifi and it worked pretty well. Here's what my speed test looks like from my pc, connected over ethernet. http://www.speedtest.net/result/4388759782.png And also, if it matters, my mothers tablet (Kindle Fire HDX, rooted w/ custom rom to bring it to vanilla android 4.2.2) has the same problem, yet my Wii U and 3DS work just fine with applications like Netflix and YouTube.

LG G Pad 7.0 Rooted to Lineage lost miracast and cast does not work!!

Hi Everyone,
First let me say this site is awesome and I really appreciate what you all do here. I have had my LG G Pad for a while now and I always loved it. The main use was Kodi and Miracast to my 55" TV using a Microsoft wireless USB display adapter. I believe it was running Lollipop from AT&T and always worked pretty good. However, I had started to notice it lagging etc and wanted to clear off all the AT&T bloatware. I was able to get it rooted to Lineage, but in doing so, I lost the main feature I use the tablet for, Miracast. I was able to find the "cast" under the display options, but it will not detect the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.
Does anyone know of a fix?
Thanks
