All this is answered in the thread in general, but for you: yes you can flash it, no difference to other countries as it is not branded. You might have to flash your region's modern if connection is not good.

The shipped Modem with the firmware version JPKJ2 for SGS2, for all the middle east countries is XWKI4
I have tested XWKE7 also which gives more speed on data than KI4
XWLPB is the latest one released with with the firmware for Bahrain, you can test this one too
Thanks mate for your effort
Hey,
I bought the i9300 in Argentina (made in Argentina as well).
I've bought it from Movistar (Argentine carrier) and I've flashed a UK stock rom and also this modem I9300XXLH1.
I'm having trouble with the 3g connection. It connects, but works very slow. Should I flash another modem? In case I should. where can I find one for Argentina. I've already searched the web for answers, and the closesest I got was finding an Argentine unbranded rom. Should I look just for a modem?
Thank's a lot.

By "original", do you mean the original Argentine, or the original of the UK rom I've installed?
If I'm not wrong, there isn't an Argentine modem in the modem thread...

I think JJEgan means the modem having the same reference as the one when you bought the phone.

The thing is that I have no idea which modem we use here. I don't want to install the original rom because it's branded and it sucks...

In the modem thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740061) there is section about "Argentina, Mexico, Colombia" (modem UBLG2 dated from 04/7/2012). You can always try it. If don't work, revert back to the modem of your current ROM.
Hey I'm about to flash an unbranded UK rom too. I've purchased the movistar argentina phone too.. Could you fix the issue whit the modem? Which rom did u use?

Try changing your csc as this does contain specific information regarding fast dormancy and carriers, this may possibly be the problem, but as suggested earlier, try playing with different modems

yes you can. but sometimes you may face modem problems like "you can't call or text people!" like in XXEMG4. i suggest you to backup efs and then flash any f/w you'd like to.
:good:
Just make sure that the firmware you are flashing is for the I9300 branch. Flashing other firmwares not suitable for the I9300 will well... brick the device.

What has that got to do with the answer ??
Question was asked and reason given as to why .
Hello,
long time no see!
Just want to confirm if it's still the same case or anything changed.
I have a Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 ( I9300XXUGMK6 "4.3 Android" ) from Germany. Now i want to flash a firmware from another country for example "I9300XXUGML3" 4.3 Android for GT-I9300 from Singapore. Is it possible or has SAMSUNG changed anything in their policies that makes it impossible? Used to be possible with Odin.
thanks mates !

yes.. but the radio.img/baseband version are different for other country. just reflash your baseband after rom installed.
* u can try which baseband work well with u, try in error wt your local provider connection
At first, its the wrong section. This must go in Q/A section.
Second, Yes you can!!

no need to re-root, just need a pc, just download a new unbranded firmware for your i9300, flash it with odin and wipe data!
there are tons of flash guides for our samsung, search for it here on xda

I am from Portugal and here, like other counties, the updates have a delay... So, I always download the latest European Firmware available when it comes out in other country!!
The only noticable difference is the CSC version, each country has a different CSC and thus different bloatware, but that doesn't mean you can't flash another country's firmware that will work except with different preloaded software.
Apart from that try to pay attention to the "Changelist" number which is the build number (So higher means newer). When Samsung releases a firmware for a specific device some countries get a new build number while the others won't. So flash a firmware which has the highest "Changelist" number.
How can I check the "Changelist" number of the firmware?
